@Hotbeverageplease I did a covid test just in case but negative, I wondered if the flu and covid jabs are in play, but TBH I was feeling dire already...standing 30 minutes in the queue for covid was awful! DH just tells me I'm "shagged out and knackered" so that's my current diagnosis!

Oh the area round the sofa is just littered with random things, all briefly useful and not tidied away. I am so pleased the housing market has gone dead, we've had to keep tidy since May, in case we have a viewing. That has added to my fatigue, I'm sure. I am so looking forward to that being over so I can relax and enjoy the new house.

I have been accumulating Christmas things, also need pre-Christmas birthday stuff. There comes a point when people just want cash, but I like to give something to unwrap as well. DH will do the wrapping if need be, he is very precise and laborious so I just don't watch!

Well done on the Zoom meeting! A definite win, energy wise.

EducatingArti · 23/10/2025 13:40

@VikingNorthUtsire
Thank you for your good wishes.

It's my birthday today. I was wide awake at 4:30am, gave in and got up and made myself a cup of tea at 5:45am. Then went back to sleep and found it hard to get going as I was feeling groggy.

It is my birthday today. My mum died earlier this year and it feels very sad and weird to not have a card from her for the first time in my whole life!

TeaAndStrumpets · 23/10/2025 13:43

@Tiredandwired2 so pleased you are seeing some benefit from your meds, that is very hopeful. Fingers crossed for a steady improvement!

FurForksSake · 23/10/2025 13:44

Happy birthday @EducatingArti it sounds like a tricky milestone. I hope it is restful.

Tiredandwired2 · 23/10/2025 13:49

Happy birthday @EducatingArti Firsts are always hard. Be extra kind to yourself today.

EducatingArti · 23/10/2025 13:52

Thank you @Tiredandwired2 and @FurForksSake
I've been out for a coffee with a friend but I'm back in bed now.
I'm going to have a snooze before I contemplate the grand list of "Things That Must Be Done" before I move out on Tuesday

TeaAndStrumpets · 23/10/2025 14:01

Happy birthday @EducatingArti I hope you have a nice day, so sorry your Mum isn't around any more. Both my parents were gone before my early 40s, but it still seems odd to think of the world going on without them xx

Hotbeverageplease · 23/10/2025 14:13

Happy Birthday @EducatingArti and I’m so sorry to hear about your mum, it must feel extra difficult today but great you saw a friend and a birthday snooze sounds in order.

@TeaAndStrumpets I expect the combo of not being great to start with, standing in the queue plus the jabs could all have had a culminating effect. The change in weather always gets to me this time of year too, don’t know if that affects you? I do like your DH’s diagnosis though, sounds a bit like something mine would say!

@Tiredandwired2 glad the POTs meds are making a difference. I some think even if something just helps a little, if you find several ‘littles’ they can add up to a marked improvement!

TeaAndStrumpets · 23/10/2025 15:29

@Hotbeverageplease yes it all adds up.

I get very sinus-y with the weather too, and my eustachian tubes block and unblock seemingly at random!

EducatingArti · 23/10/2025 17:11

@TeaAndStrumpets and @Hotbeverageplease

Thank you for your kind comments.

TeaAndStrumpets · 24/10/2025 09:31

I spoke too soon about house viewings, unfortunately someone's booked in for Tuesday. I am still feeling like death so DH will be in charge of making the house presentable. Usually I do the dusting because he just doesn't see it! At least we've got a few days.

Hope you are all well today.

TeaAndStrumpets · 24/10/2025 09:35

Beautiful morning, the squirrels are busy.

Tiredandwired2 · 24/10/2025 10:08

Morning. Nearly at the weekend.

Currently sat in cardiology waiting to have my 24 hour blood pressure monitor fitted.

I may then pop to the close by TKmax for a quick browse before heading home.

Hope everyone has a good day.

TeaAndStrumpets · 24/10/2025 11:44

@Tiredandwired2 good luck, think calming thoughts for the next 24 hours...

If ever I could guarantee even half an hour shopping without repercussions you would find me in Home Sense browsing bedding and nice saucepans!

Tiredandwired2 · 24/10/2025 12:26

Thanks @TeaAndStrumpets. I'm hoping I can manage some sleep tonight with it. They explained it will inflate every 10 minutes this evening 😳

I had a lovely shopping trip. Over did it a little bit. I'm getting carried away with my new higher energy envelope but it's going to be a bit of trial and error. My heart rate when standing and moving is now mostly normal. Game changer so far.

Amazing!

FurForksSake · 24/10/2025 12:59

We went to the garden centre with the kids, they chose me birthday presents and we had breakfast. We had a look round the new small Hobbycraft they’ve opened and ds12 wanted spray cans and a canvas, we might try and do that at Christmas. We then popped into decathlon so I could buy thermals. I really feel the cold and it makes my pain a lot worse.

TeaAndStrumpets · 24/10/2025 13:04

We've got a massive garden centre near us, I'm amazed at all the little minishops inside!

FurForksSake · 24/10/2025 13:10

Ours is in the next town up, we technically live in a new city. It has chickens too! The kids were trying to steer me away from all the gorgeous pots in the garden centre, but DH bought me the one I loved. I need to think about what to grow in it!! It’s teal and copper.

Tiredandwired2 · 24/10/2025 13:16

@FurForksSake That sounds lovely. Love a garden centre and hobby craft! Sounds like a lovely morning.

Im the same with the cold. I need to find some electric hand warmers. I used my sisters last year and they were amazing to stick in your pocket or even in the bra!

Orangesandlemons77 · 24/10/2025 14:33

It seems to have got more cold today and yesterday. Wonder if it is a blip or a general shift.

Trying to get up the energy to go for a walk but it is a bit off-putting. DH is cleaning angrily.

TeaAndStrumpets · 24/10/2025 15:24

@Orangesandlemons77 my DH cleans quite glumly! He is doing all the floors today, hoover steamer etc. He is quite thorough with hoovering but has too much faith in the attachments. He thinks if he uses the dusting nozzle that will work perfectly, but I do follow behind with a damp yellow duster! We sort of manage.

I have never ever had a cleaner, I think it would worry me having to tidy up for them!

Yes there's a nip in the air!

EducatingArti · 24/10/2025 17:14

Hi everyone!

@Tiredandwired2
I did the blood pressure monitoring thing too. It didn't wake me up, but I think minne might have switched off for 8 hours overnight

I'm having a weird time here. There are soooo many things I need to do before I move out on Tuesday but I'm lying in bed just avoiding doing anything. It isn't tiredness but some kind of emotional avoidance I think!

MewithME · 24/10/2025 18:55

I'm so tired after work this week..I will read your posts tomorrow. I hope you are all ok.

The toxic bloody people I work with have totally done me in this week. I'm angry and exhausted and I don't deserve their shit behaviour. I'm having wine and a cry right now.

OP posts:
FurForksSake · 24/10/2025 19:30

@MewithME I’m so sorry it’s been such a bad day. Definitely deserve the wine and the sob x
