I have had a few times where despite my suspecting the information i was being given was flaky, I had no option but to commit. And when the shit hit the fan, I had an audit trail that showed my repeated requests that the people supplying the information was correct with a blase "as we said ...", "we refer you to .." or just a resend of a previous email.
Did she pay for this advice ? I'd be curious to know if professional liability insurance can cover the costs of misadvising a client who looses their job as a result.
And if she didn't pay for the advice, then it was by definition worthless.
