I’ll start:
> Fleabag
> Mindhunter
> Tokyo Vice
> True Blood
> Big Little Lies
> The X Files
> Three Pines
> Bosch (the original series)
> The Bridge (Danish version)
> Mare of Easttown

Could probably keep going!

There’s a new season of Line of Duty next year which people on here seem to have missed!

Motherland.

The Ambassadors, Mitchell & Webb

Invasion (2005 series). They did ONE series and then cancelled! Used to enjoy watching it on a Sunday evening and can’t find it anywhere to rewatch 😒

LabourOfLovely · 28/08/2025 23:29

I agree, I'd love another series or two of Detectorists.
And a catch up series of Miranda would be nice too.

My suggestion is an updated Fat Friends.

The children in Friends would in their 20s now, that could be a good series.

Whitechapel (DD and I watch it every year ) mainly for my Steve Pemberton fix

Inside No9 ( I know they've gone off to do the Stage Fright live show ....but a Hallowe'en or Christmas episode would be appreciated y'know ....)

Agree with @Tillow4ever, but I want Angel like it was in Season 1-3 by the end when they were running WR&H it wasn’t as much fun.

Heidi2018 · 29/08/2025 00:00

Love / Hate. What a show!

Dustyblue · 29/08/2025 00:06

There was an American sitcom in the mid-90s called Ned & Stacey, starring Debra Messing who went on to star in Will & Grace. It only ran for 2 seasons but I just loved it!

Another vote for Mitchell & Webb

Also Ben & Holly's Little Kingdom, by the creators of Peppa Pig. It was far far better than PP and only ran for 2 seasons. My DS is a bit old for it now but I'd watch a new season. 😁

Blue Bloods

I can't think of many dramas that hadn't peaked by series 3. Maybe the IT crowd, maybe BlackAdder, and I think that was because each season of BlackAdder stood alone, and I don't think that the series were back to back.
My feeling is that series which go beyond 3 seasons end up either being repetitive, or increasingly far-fetched, and they lose their freshness, their originality. They've already said what they needed to say, the plot lines have completed, and extending beyond that feels artificial.
Of course there'll be a few exceptions ( still enjoyed GOT Season 4, Orphan Black Season 4, and all of Last Kingdom, ) but the world-building, plot development and characterisations have mainly reduced their impact and it becomes more about familiarity. Yes, I can still laugh at Big Bang or Frasier, or Friends but it's mostly more of the same.
Although I would watch more of Call My Agent!

Howyoualldoworkme · 29/08/2025 00:27

Home Fires
Enemy at the Door

Howyoualldoworkme · 29/08/2025 00:28

The Cockfields.
I loved that 🙂

YourHazelBalonz · 29/08/2025 00:53

The Sandman
Heels
True Blood
Dead boy detectives
The Sopranos would be amazing if Gandolfini was still with us.
Being Human before they changed the cast
Misfits again before they changed the cast
( Original cast of the last 2 were perfect)
Back to life, was really enjoyable and I know would seem like a totally different story if they did another season now after the end of season 2 but it was excellent :)

YourHazelBalonz · 29/08/2025 00:55

Oh and black books, was a hilarious show would have loved another season!
