Just seen this little fella under the shed, what do you think? Mouse or rat?

Naked tail = rat.

Rat. Mice have hair on their tails, rat tails are hairless.

A long overdue update, it was a baby rat and he had a vast extended family. Started seeing multiple scurrying round the garden. We cleared up all the apples that fell to remove their food source. Got a bait box which they totally ignored, then we put the bait blocks directly under the shed, they got eaten I assume as they disappeared quickly. Haven't seen anymore for about 2 months or so now. Haven't seen dead ones either though. Maybe they moved house.
