What water do you drink at home?

What water do you drink at home? Do you buy bottled water? Do you have a filter system? Do you have water delivery arranged?
With two active boys I noticed that lately we go through racks of bottled water and looking to change to either water filter like virgin or water2 or get a water dispenser. I haven’t done any research yet on any filters but worry if we install any it wouldn’t change how tap water tastes and we will still need to buy bottles.
Has anyone installed filter and happy with it after at least a year of use?

Do you have water delivery arranged?
Water delivery via tap.

Tap, and we've just bought a new fridge freezer with a water dispenser so it's lovely and cool.

Tap water, but in hot weather I often fill up a jug, add handfuls of mint from the garden, and leave it in the fridge. Sometimes I add lemon or orange slices too, but don't use a plastic jug.

Tap. Aggravates the hell out of me that people buy water in plastic bottles when we are fortunate to live in a civilised country where the tap water is safe to drink.

Very occasionally buy bottled water if out and about and haven't bought any with us.

Following as ours tastes like shit!!!

afaloren · 22/07/2025 11:25

Tap. And we have a soda stream with glass bottles to make sparkling water. We fill the glass bottles with tap water and keep them in the wine fridge (which alas has no wine in it) and then fizz them when ready to drink.

Bottled because my son was repeatedly ill, for months, drinking tap. Switched to bottled. Then (accidentally) had tap and was sick again. This has happened twice. So we are back to bottled indefinitely for the kids (I drink tap). No sickness since. But the micro plastics really worries me and have come considered a filter but worried to make the change… following if anyone has advice or has experienced similar!

Tap, we have a water dispenser in the fridge, I like really cold water. I have just treated myself to a soda stream because I love a fizzy water.

CurlewKate · 22/07/2025 11:40

Filtered tap. Occasionally I buy myself a bottle of Evian as a treat because weirdly I love it. But bottled water is soooo environmentally damaging. Please don’t go down that route.

HÆLTHEPAIN · 22/07/2025 11:40

We have one of these. And love it! Only downside is the space it takes up but it’s worth it for us.

Coincidence.

Tap. Worked in Birmingham for 25 plus years. Never understood why a cup of tea was nicer than at home a mere 15miles away- u do have lovely water.

BCBird · 22/07/2025 11:43

Love San Pelligrino fizzy water for a treat

Whitehorses67 · 22/07/2025 11:44

Bottled water because ours tastes like shite plus is frequently brown / white / absent altogether because I have the misfortune to be a captive customer of the truly appalling Southern Water.

Pinty · 22/07/2025 11:45

I drink water straight out of the tap. Unless you live somewhere where the water isn't safe I don't understand why anyone should buy bottled water to drink at home

shoofly · 22/07/2025 11:47

Tap, through a brita filter and in glass bottles in fridge. Fizz with sodastream too.

Nopicturesallowed · 22/07/2025 11:48

Whichever cup of water has the coffee in it.
If I have to drink it neat, I'm happy with the stuff out the tap. My youngest two prefer bottled.
We do have one of those tap things on the fridge as well, but it isn't always refilled. Since I only tend to drink water hot and caffeinated, it isn't something I think about too much.

dontforgetme · 22/07/2025 11:48

Ha it’s called council pop round my neck of the woods! I always drink tap water, Birmingham also. We do put a jug in the fridge during the summer.

Epidote · 22/07/2025 11:49

Water from the Aire and Calder river delivered by tap.

notacooldad · 22/07/2025 11:49

'Corpy' pop ( tap!)

StarCourt · 22/07/2025 11:49

tap water but do buy sparkling water

Isitreallysohard · 22/07/2025 11:50

Tap. Bottled water is the biggest farce invented

Mildorado · 22/07/2025 11:50

Tap water.
I live in the UK.

Joystir59 · 22/07/2025 11:50

Tap as it's cheaper and safer. It's more stringently regulated than bottled water. Filtered water is only as safe as the filter in use.

Holdonforsummer · 22/07/2025 11:50

Tap. I dread to think of the plastic waste people who drink bottled water are creating. Just imagine your annual bottle mountain 😡
