Our village was where border collies were first bred.

We have Britain’s busiest railway station (apparently - not sure how they measure that).

Is mentioned in my username 😆

Good luck 👍

It's measured by the number of trains going through per 24 hours.

Brighton.

My town is known as the Gateway to Cornwall. There is a statue erected to a renowned woman championship gig rower from the 19th century. The wife of Sir Francis Drake lived here.

You're on the wrong side of that there bridge, aren't you? At least you've not got the name that nobody can pronounce by the time you get past Princetown.

Skelmanthorpe, Clayton West, Scissett, Flockton or Shelley? Got to be one of them!

@mambojambodothetango Nahh, Skelmanthorpe is the Dr Who village.

@IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads Lower Cumberworth, I reckon 👍 My eldest (4yo) is obsessed with Emley Moor Mast. Not a day that goes by that he doesn’t shout “it’s Emmy Moor Mast!!”.

Laska2Meryls · 20/07/2025 22:20

No one has mine then ? Ok another clue.... There are no grey squirrels here. And you can get here floating on air. ( In fact it's the only place in the Uk that has a scheduled service doing so )

A centre of film making before Hollywood, the true home of the Aston Martin DB series and also home to the so-called ‘baby suffragette’.

Laska2Meryls · 20/07/2025 22:30

@Laska2Meryls The Isle of Wight! Great one.

Yup, Well done ! Isabella de Fortibus - one of the greatest heiresses in 13th-century , lived at Carisbrooke Castle and ruled the island as Lord in her own right for 25 years .( Charles 1 also held as prisoner there before being beheaded but I thought that might be too obvious a clue ) . We only have Red Squirrels and the Hovercraft is the only one left running as a scheduled passenger service in the world apparently (we do have other ferries)

Thebossofhim · 20/07/2025 22:52

VintageCider · 20/07/2025 20:34

We are part of a much larger city but people here like to pretend we’re not really a part of said city.

We have the largest, or one of the largest, urban parks in Europe.

Our MP considers himself above the riffraff (and went to court over some words).

Leeds?
