Exactly. 'Just reaching out to..' makes me think of someone, arms outstretched, trying to grab me. Have some dignity!

Also hate "this could only happen to me" and similar. Although it is generally a helpful pointer that someone is self-involved and to be avoided.

Whatareyoutalkingaboutnow · 15/07/2025 11:55

Weekmindedfool · 15/07/2025 11:51

Eh?

Think that's a bit of a northern one. Lots of turning around and saying.

DrNo007 · 15/07/2025 11:56

"Fur babies" for animals and "making memories". Ugh.

Redrosesposies · 15/07/2025 11:56

With all due respect

Bobblebiscuits296 · 15/07/2025 11:57

With reference to pets…

“They have gone over the rainbow bridge”

Does it make it less painful to use euphemisms? No it doesn’t! Why not just say plainly that they have died?

Streamline2 · 15/07/2025 11:58

“So” at the start of every sentence.

namechangeGOT · 15/07/2025 11:58

Wiglio · 15/07/2025 11:49

She turned round and said….

Haha!! Not sure if this just in the area where I am from but we all say this!! ‘He turned round and said…’ as though everyone we’re having conversations with have their backs to us!!

Bobblebiscuits296 · 15/07/2025 11:58

My weight-loss “journey”.

Steelworks · 15/07/2025 11:59

‘See you later’ when said by cashiers in supermarkets etc. No, you are not seeing me later, unless you’re stalking me.
