That there's an all powerful God who can work miracles. He/She has odd priorities if that's the case. I understand that religious faith can help in dark times but, it seems to me, anyone who hopes for a godly intervention to solve their situation is going to be disappointed.

That only a few are able to access the best life has to offer, while the rest of us fight each other over scraps.

I find it strange that I am no longer allowed to express my opinions. My mouth is slowly being sewn shut by other people who are no
more entitled than me … if everyone has a voice then anarchy prevails . Generally, that’s a bad thing.
I don’t like the idea that if I don’t look 23 with Botox, I am somehow less valuable… that if I don’t have acrylic nails I “don’t look after myself” … that everyone celebrates a wedding, but forgets about the love.
That’s why I’m fucking off to France and avoiding the Americanisation of our society which is an abomination of everything the UK has been built on.
I love England but I’m so sorry that we’ve become lazy, entitled and introspective.

Men having 5 wives but women can only have one husband, just the inequality.

Tryonemoretime · 10/07/2025 18:13

Abortion. Killing a human, developing baby, no matter what terminology you use, is now normal. Accidents happen - but one's deliberate action in having sex (and I do know that there is rape) shouldn't result in the killing of a vulnerable human being - no matter how small. Sex may result in getting pregnant. And if a woman does get pregnant, adoption is the answer. My husband was adopted (and so was his sister) and brought huge joy to his parents - and some much loved grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Religion

Agree. There's a reason why Jesus condemned the leading religious leaders of His day. Religion won't save anyone.

Vast amounts of food consumption and obesity.

Who gets to define what is transphobic? Because it’s usually a word used to shut down biological reality, and to cover up the fact that men cannot insert themselves into womanhood without there being a detrimental effect on women and their hard fought for rights.

As for public shaming - TRAs do plenty of that, along with threatening women, having them arrested, making bomb threats at speaking events, attacking women. Public shaming alone would be a fucking dream compared to the shitshow that women have to put up with!

Not sure what your saying, whether you have proof or have just read the internets version of graffiti. My best interpretation is that you are saying without proof that people who peddle hatred towards a tiny section of the community are being unjustly targeted by aforesaid minute percentage and their allies.

Never read any news reports that support this theory...but I'm willing to read it if you show us.

One consolation, having children is a choice so there is no compulsion to go through that if you really don't want to, and some women don't.

Does it really take five years for a child to sleep through the night?

Edited

Longer, for mine. But it's not always the case I must admit. Some are good sleepers.

Reform and the tories. The media has normalised shitty, corrupt, lying people.

Tryonemoretime · 10/07/2025 18:24

And eating eggs.....think about it for a moment! (Just making an omelette 😅)

We was instead of we were. It’s the new draws/chester draws.

Mrsgreen100 · 10/07/2025 18:27

Competitive sport and schools we teach our kids how to win how to beat somebody how to be victorious but we don’t teach them teamwork how to get along with other people and help each other. It’s bizarre to me.

You need a dictionary. Infanticide is the killing of a young child within a year of its BIRTH, not the safe medical removal of an unwanted foetus.

Words are important. What exactly is a foetus? In a woman, it's a developing baby.

The huge growing rate of mental illness in our children?

Mummadeze · 10/07/2025 18:31

That the Michael Jackson Musical is still running. I know he hasn’t been found guilty by a court but having watched the documentary it really feels like we are still celebrating a paedophile.

Tryonemoretime · 10/07/2025 18:32

Im agreeing with so many of these posts, I'm going to have to stop clicking on the 'agree' icon. And can we have the laughing emoji back @mumsnet ?

I just thought of another one: people wishing their loved ones with whom they live in the same house (or definitely have the private phone numbers for) a happy birthday publicly on the internet via social media channels with effusive sentiments about how exceptional and wonderful the person is. I have lots of friends who do this too. I am not judging it. I just find it so fascinating that this has become normalised with normal folk - probably due to it trickling down from celebrity culture. On my son's birthday, I saw him in the morning and only said "Happy Birthday, son" to his actual face.

I lived with a French student once and she was astonished that we sent birthday cards to anybody that we would see in person - workmates, housemates, relatives, friends...

Maybe, but it's not a baby.

Dancing

hahaha 🤣 I always think this when I watch people dance. Such an odd thing for us to pick up on.

Bryonyberries · 10/07/2025 18:35

That children are the result of parents life style choice so we shouldn’t support them and their families while they are little ( two child cap etc) but once they becoming working adults they should pay taxes to support us when we’re old - even though they were disregarded as individuals needing support growing up.

I think our attitude towards children in our society very strange.
