Just venting. 16 year old cat. Normally very fussy and only eats his own food. NEVER bothers with our food. Hates spices, lemon, onion. Doesn't even eat chicken legs if you offer him.

This evening we had a couple of friends over. DP made chicken tagine, and left it on the counter before setting the table in the garden. The asshole cat has gone and sampled each piece of chicken. We had to throw away the whole thing and order dinner.

I mean I love him and have had him since he was a tiny kitten, but honestly I want to scream. How can you be such a bastard? DP thinks he is cute...

Our black cat Minx stole the steak from my husband's plate once and he just looked dejected as my daughter ran after him. 😂

😁❤️

My husband made a tuna pizza and foolishly left the room while it was cooling. Came back to find every bit of tuna had been licked off and the cat looking very happy. We had a takeaway pizza that night!

Who leaves a pizza to ‘cool’?! Eat the damn thing!!

Some of us should be more cat like. Get our own needs met above all else, just once in a while

Many years ago we had a cat that would steal balloons and run off with them to play, he never burst them he was so gentle and funny.

Now we a parrot that bites into fruit in the fruit bowl when you’re not looking so has to be eaten and has to be in her cage when we eat otherwise will steal whatever we’re eating….. and dogs that we’ve learnt will eat anything if you take your eyes off it for a second including granola and Greek yoghurt. Plus inedible things like credit cards, wool, wood and poo bags if dropped or left anywhere for more than 2 seconds. The main culprit is a puppy still at 1 so hoping she grows out of it.

Your house sounds happy and fun

Either keep all food covered or keep your cat on a lead/take to vet. You’re smarter than your cat - hopefully!!

What on earth are you thinking…..preparing food you KNOW your DC won’t like. I’d fully expect to be sacked or at least receive some very disapproving looks in future.
