Apart from the usual missing cats, with the heat they have probably gone to find some cool shade; mine has.
Someone hears a strange noise at night. What is it?
Why was there a helicopter landing by the pub? taking girls to the prom
Someone has taken a local burger van, not to be seen again

What's on your local Facebook

A booked taxi didn't turn up, leaving someone standing outside " in the cold", someone stood on a conger eel tackle/hook left on the foreshore, missing cats, found wallets and scam with someone selling furniture but giving out someone else's address.
It's all go here. 🙄

A MAN was seen walking down the road!

he must want to kidnap your dog/child/!

SapporoBaby · 03/07/2025 10:41

The local homeless man has been terrorising kids again. Que dozens of people saying ‘he’s nice if you’re nice to him’ except that he chased a 3 year old and followed a lady saying he was going to murder her.

But sure… he’s nice Confused

‘Foreign’ looking men acting suspiciously everywhere and anywhere.

Yeah mine is full of this as well. People are really telling on themselves. We also get told when Travellers come to town and the comments underneath are really horrible.

FuckoffeeBeforeCoffee · 03/07/2025 12:15

This was posted the other day. Caused quite a stir. Over 500 comments, most agreeing with the letter writer, not the letter recipient.

Our streets bins didn't get picked up yesterday. Much anger and distress caused.

Also someone complaining that someone else's dog has shat in her garden. Not her little dog, Prince, because she can tell by the colour and texture.

Someone else complaining about the artillery and machine gun fire when we live next to an Army base.

givemushypeasachance · 03/07/2025 12:16

We have a liveable neighbourhood trial in the area, so some roads are now no longer through roads, meaning some people have to take a different longer route if they want to access another part of the area rather than driving straight through it, there are some bus gates and ends of roads restricted with planters. Idea is to stop rat running through the residential area and keep through traffic to the main routes. The uproar from some residents who regularly post on FB about how it's now "like living in a prison". "It's discrimination", "If someone dies because an ambulance can't reach them, X local councillor will have blood on his hands."

Pleas for a supermarket to be built (don’t move to a rural location and then cry that you have to drive to the shop).

Also lots beach moans, litter and dogs mostly which I get but moaning on Facebook doesn’t do much about it.

Lots of lost cats.

ExistentialThreat · 03/07/2025 12:43

There was somebody in the village the other day that the correspondent didn't recognise. And they had a Birmingham accent.... (we live in the West Midlands)

socks1107 · 03/07/2025 12:45

Strange noise
parking
road works
and …. Primark in our closest town was closed for three hours because someone pooped all over the store and it had to be deep cleaned

We have a similar situation here! There’s now more traffic going past the primary school (admittedly not great) and there’s a lot of comments at how the council will have blood on their hands when a child gets run over. If a child ever did get hit by a car most of these people would be ringing the local councillor to say ‘I told you so!!’ before they rang 999.

Complaining about the farmyard smell in a small rural town and bizarrley the small earthquake that happened last night.

a lady had a heart attack in a nearby town luckily for her an off duty PC and a nurse were passing. later her daughter posted that her mum was ok in hospital doing fine and thanking everyone including a lady who came out of her house and held an umbrella over her plus covered her with blankets to keep her dry as it was pelting don

Our rural village has lots of new builds and people moving in from towns and cities for a quieter life.

Recent FB gripes have been people moaning about cockerels waking them early, noisy tractors (can't they use another road to get through the village etc?). The best comment was from a lady who wanted horse muck removed from the roads, she was going to contact the council and police as (according to her) it's a real thread to safety because someone could slip and injure themselves!

Thatcannotberight · 05/07/2025 10:49

Fly tipping, which is actually someone waiting for the council to collect her bully waste items.
Street lights being turned off after midnight, lots of moans about that.
Local full time nursery closing again ( multiple failed Ofsteds and not improving, apparently).
Vandalism of safety surfaces in playpark that is only used by teenagers in the evening.
Vaguebook posting about lovely lady in the kiosk at Sainsbury's.

Same here. My favourite post on the new build forum was a lady worrying that ‘the eagle’ would swoop down and carry off her 3yo.

The eagle being a red kite.
