How would this affect a baby?

If you were already a mum of two and you couldn't cope with your baby crying, so you put them in a pram and put them at the bottom of your long garden, so you couldn't hear them, how would that affect that baby...?

My mum put me in my cot, shut the door, went downstairs and put the radio on to drown it out. Can't understand why I don't do the same.

Healthy attachment requires responsive parenting, and putting the baby down the bottom of the garden so you can't hear them is not responsive. We don't have to (and can't!) be perfect parents, but deliberately and repeatedly ignoring a crying baby is neglectful, and issues with attachment can lead to challenges with mental health.
