How much would you expect to pay for this tattoo?

Im not asking if you like tattoos. If you dont, may I strongly suggest you never get one and move along to another thread.

I know its not to everyone's taste and the good old cliche "bold will hold" etc etc but how much would you expect to pay for something like this?

I'm getting my children's birth flowers (yes another cliche, the thread is full of them) and have been quoted a price. Im happy to pay it because I like the artist's work but a few people have said it's expensive so out of curiosity, how much would you expect to pay for something like this?

Its £1 coin for scale.

ETA - It's my first tattoo so have nothing to compare it to. One of the people who commented has poorly done tattoos so I wouldnt listen to them and the other has well done tattoos but in a different style.

My artist would charge about 350 for this, she's the specialist in this style in my area (NI so cheaper than Britain anyway). People saying 100-150 are way off, that wouldn't be far off many artists minimum charge.

You’re looking at 2 hours maximum!
so around £150/£200!!
no way should anyone pay £350 for something so small!!

Nope, just my siblings both follow various artists so I get their posts popping up on my FB feed! I just remember him cos his style is very similar to my sister's (my brother is more dark stuff and skulls haha)

Haaaa just read through more of the thread.

@Sickandtiredoflife would you just give it up! I assume you never buy clothes for yourself, get a haircut etc because it's all gone on your kids yeah?

It’s not just about the size. It’s about the quality of the work. He’s very good and there’s absolutely no way it would be that cheap.

OP, this might have been said above, so apologies if I’m repeating it, but remember that a lot of the artists in high demand will have a day rate, rather than an hourly rate.

Crazyladee · 21/06/2025 15:37

Gosh that's stunning. Mine is a similar size. A completely different style as mine is a copy of a watercolour image and nowhere near as much fine detail as your one. Mine was £350.

Well it makes sense to me OP.

Get a tattoo if you want OP. If thats what makes you happy and you have money to throw away.

But why try and make it about your children?

How does having supposed references to your children in the tattoo benefit them?

The majority of mothers love their children but most dont feel the need to get a tattoo about it.

Most mothers want their best for their children and I fail to see how spending money on a tattoo enhances your children's lives

If you want to enhance your childrens lives spend your money on them.

Dont try and dignity your desire to get a new tattoo by involving your children in this when in reality it has nothing to do with enhancing their lives but is all about about you and what you find aesthetically pleasing and can afford.

Is this a wind up? Seriously??

Yes a lot does have a day rate, they also have a hourly rate for some tattoos and most will give you a set price for tattoos too!
where I go this would only be done as a set price or hourly rate
