Getting a tad nervous about Iran and Isreal if I’m honest

Is ww3 going to kick off? Iran have hit the US embassy in Israel and now trumps threatening direct military action.
My Mom has just come back from Cyprus and last night they saw missiles 😟

Not really. Because we have to assume, on the balance of probabilities, those female leaders went to war against men. Remove men from the equation entirely, I'm willing to bet the need for aggression would reduce...

People lose bets all the time…

It took me to Amazon to purchase a book…

Maybe buy the book and read it…

Feel free to link any evidence that I'm wrong. If there is any.

Is there any real evidence to prove you are correct? Not including supposition.

Feel free to link.

The Times said there was minor damage to the embassy after a strike in Tel Aviv, I'm not sure they aimed for it specifically? No other sources seem to be reporting on this and surely it would be headline news otherwise?

As a general point the accuracy of most of the Iranian missiles (sometimes referred to as the C.E.P.) is rumoured to be pretty/extremely piss poor by modern standards when actually used in combat.. so if they did hit a specific target building with the first/only shot it would be down to luck...

I suspect a lot of the time they aim for the general city area/block and hope.

That's one of the advantages that regime has of not having to give a shiney do dah about collateral damage and civilian casualties.

I am going on Friday and I am not worried at all.

Hopefully all goes well, I travel to Dubai multiple times a year and I feel safer there then London, but decided to postpone this trip for now 🤞. It’s also because I’m abit concerned about the impact of radiation release from nuclear and uranium sites being hit in Iran… I imagine they will be too far to reach other countries??

I'm a little bit like this ... but we have a cruise booked around the Greek islands in 4 weeks and I'm worried about that. 😩 What are people's thoughts on this? I'm thinking of giving it 2 more weeks then if there's no improvement looking to change it

I'd go to the Greek islands so long as there was no escalation and further afield wasn't targeted.

Cyprus I probably wouldn't though (unless things had died down by then).

There is near infinite evidence that women are less aggressive than men in general.

Bloody Hell, I hadn’t even begun to consider anything like that! I just can’t live my life with “what if” scenarios and compared to the people who are actually living through this awful situation, I guess my own relatively trivial concerns are misplaced.

Im avoiding thinking about it. Its not like anything I do will have any effect on the situation so I choose to just live my life in blissful ignorance!

Absolutely nothing wrong with this. Look after you own

I know, I’m prone to anxiety so it doesn’t help right 😅. However, they did recently measure the radiation levels around one of the sites hit and luckily they are not elevated…yet.

I’m sue to fly to Dubai on Saturday and I’m scared stiff .

I hope ypu do not have to at the end. They are likely to cancel flights, anyway. It is just too much of a risk.

MushMonster · 16/06/2025 18:19

I have been more than concerned since it started. I do not see these two countries standing down. And I am really worried that US will be dragged into it and then ask UK to join.
And no way UK should get involved in this war, in my opinion.
I know Starmer has sent some further RAF hets and maybe more personnel to Middle East, in theory, to stay by our bases.
The news do say the US Embassy has been damaged. It is not clear that it has been purposely targeted. Or have you found any reasonable newspaper saying it was bombed? I really hope it was just some collateral damage due to nearby explosions or debri. Because I really do not want Trump involved here. I think it is likely now that Trump has realised he bite more than he can chew and he cannot contain Putin, China, Iran or Netanyahu.

MushMonster · 16/06/2025 18:22

Glitchymn1 · 16/06/2025 11:32

^This if you can.

The world is such a depressing place- I don’t know what world leaders want- should go in a room and fight it out.
All these bombs going off, but please let me just recycle my can of pop and turn the tap off whilst brushing my teeth.

This is a good point. They get so busy telling us how to live, to the smallest detail. Then through it all out of the window in their power games.

MushMonster · 16/06/2025 18:37

shivermetimbers77 · 16/06/2025 12:20

Yes it’s terrifying, Trump is making things worse with his inflammatory style and we are unfortunately tied in to helping Israel and the US as an ally so the consequences of staying neutral wouldn’t be good for us .. but I also wish we could. I want no part of this.

I think we can and we should.
Vance, Hesgeth and Trump has hinted enough that they do not value much UK's military assistance or NATO itself. So that opens the question for me, why should we get involved and have our soldiers inkured or killed?

MushMonster · 16/06/2025 18:50

JustMyView13 · 16/06/2025 13:59

This world has too many men with small dick syndrome, in power.
I wish someone would put them all on a remote island & let them fight it out between themselves.

I like the remote island thing. I reckon they would all cry within the first hour.
If they do survive, they would bunch together and start plotting the demise of the world from that very same island!

Don't think I'd be holidaying in Cyprus at the moment. It must be scary for those that live there, especially those on the British military bases.

Because there are missiles going back and forth around the area. And there are some people saying their ights have been cancelled. Last time the two countries had exchanges, flights were cancelled.
I will give it a quick google.

MushMonster · 16/06/2025 19:18

First google response.
Where are you going? If it is far away enough you may be lucky. But there is the risk of getting stuck, having delays or worst.

There doesn’t seem to be any sign that it’s anything other than business as usual at Dubai airport. Granted some flights into directly affected areas have stopped but UK to Dubai doesn’t even figure. The FCDO site doesn’t recommend against travel either.

I have just looked at the arrivals board for Dubai and dozens of flights from the UK, US and Europe have landed there today.

Edited

Maybe those flights are going around the air space between Israel and Iran.
Are they taking a bit longer?
