What can you hear right now?

I am sitting in the garden listening to wood pigeons, house sparrows, skylarks, a radio in the distance and the sound of my five year old "Goy"ing in his swing, he is profoundly disabled and "Goy" is his happy sound. Every time I ask if he wants "more" he smiles which is his way of saying "yes".

What can you hear?

My 10 month old lying on me asleep, snoring. He's not well at the moment xx

Gowlett · 12/06/2025 17:01

I can hear my heart pumping against the mattress. I’m feeling really unwell today, so I’m mostly in bed, sleeping, having bad dreams. Doing a bit of reading, bit of work on my phone.

Seawolves · 12/06/2025 17:01

I hope he feels better soon

The a/c humming (hot and humid where I am).

Tumble dryer going.

DH and DS crunching through their lunchtime baguette sandwiches.

Them turning the pages on their books as they read.

Police sirens in the distance.

Dearg · 12/06/2025 17:03

Glad your son is happy Op. that’s a lovely sound for you to hear.

I can hear the wind rustling in the trees in the garden, there’s a chilly breeze coming in the back door of the kitchen, and the noise of the dishwasher is accompanying it all.

I think it’s going to rain - summertime in Scotland…

KawasakiBabe · 12/06/2025 17:04

My daughter running a bath, which makes the tap in the kitchen run at the same time, thinking, I really must sort that out!!!

Anrom19 · 12/06/2025 17:04

The waves gently crashing on the beach and my 2 adult children nattering away next to me on our annual ‘just us 3’ holiday ‘. I feel most incredibly grateful.

Birds tweeting. The wind growing, sadly on a showery June afternoon. DC upstairs singing to self.

onelostsoulswimminginafishbowl · 12/06/2025 17:07

The white noise machine and my baby sucking on her bottle (it's 4am here and baby has woken for a feed).

Hopefully she won't be up long but is sleeping with me because it is minus 2 outside and pretty cold inside!

BethDuttonYeHaw · 12/06/2025 17:09

Nothing.

I need hearing aids to hear and I’ve taken them out for some peace and quiet.

kissmyfatass · 12/06/2025 17:10

I can hear outside. Trees rustling birds tweeting and the occasional car in the distance Seagulls are quite noisy too. I can also hear DSS in the shower. Im waiting for the bathroom to have a bath so im listening impatiently

thatsawhopperthatlemon · 12/06/2025 17:15

DH on the phone talking to some random person about their telly.

Em308 · 12/06/2025 17:16

I live about a quarter of a mile from a motorway so depending on the direction of the wind I hear the hum of the traffic. It’s quite loud today, but doesn’t bother me. The wind in the trees. Lots of birds twittering. The water from the pond fountain and filter box. Kids playing in a garden. Tennis on the telly.

New Zealand?

Mirrorxxx · 12/06/2025 17:19

A lot of screaming children 😭

Elbowpatch · 12/06/2025 17:19

Torrential rain.

Daffodil1625 · 12/06/2025 17:20

Really loud (and not working) aircon on a train. Now the beeping of the doors opening and the announcements.
see it, say it, sorted.

FadedRed · 12/06/2025 17:21

Distant traffic, birdsong, tinnitus.

Painrelief · 12/06/2025 17:22

Got the windows still open and there’s a fair on the park opposite my parents house so I can hear traffic and the music and noise from the fair .

AppleDumplingWithCustard · 12/06/2025 17:22

My cat snoring.

What can you hear right now?
Goneback2school · 12/06/2025 17:24

Lots of birds- blackbirds and thrushes mostly, study rain on the flat roof, the dogs paws on the floor and the occasional car out the front. It's peaceful.

BethDuttonYeHaw · 12/06/2025 17:25

AppleDumplingWithCustard · 12/06/2025 17:22

My cat snoring.

OMG that photo is so cute ☺️

soupmaker · 12/06/2025 17:25

The dog snoring. DD1 playing music on her phone and crunching on rice cakes. The oven as I’ve potato cubes roasting. Wind through trees in the garden. Looks like it’s about to pour with rain.

CatAsstrophe · 12/06/2025 17:25

Tinnitus (as usual)
