I am sitting in the garden listening to wood pigeons, house sparrows, skylarks, a radio in the distance and the sound of my five year old "Goy"ing in his swing, he is profoundly disabled and "Goy" is his happy sound. Every time I ask if he wants "more" he smiles which is his way of saying "yes".

What can you hear?

It hides the sound of my snoring cats 😁

The birds tweeting, it’s lovely.
A bit of traffic in the distance and my rabbits surfacing from a long sleep 🐰

Judiezones · 12/06/2025 18:41

Two teenage girls a couple of rows away on the train, talking about how much they're going to drink tonight, every other word is fuck or maaaaaate.

CharlotteStreetW1 · 12/06/2025 18:44

5Live on the radio in the kitchen a couple of rooms away, county cricket on the TV and bloody tinnitus 😖

Startthecar · 12/06/2025 18:44

Birds singing, the infernal droning of the distant motorway, someone nearby mowing the grass, the barely audible sound of a train rumbling by, and the chop chop chop of a helicopter overhead.

rugbychick1 · 12/06/2025 18:45

Local news on the television, birds tweeting outside and my heavy footed dd up and down the stairs and making noise in the kitchen

Anzena · 12/06/2025 18:47

Nothing, because I've taken my hearing aids out to give my poor ears a rest LOL.😊The silence is deafening!

Meadowfinch · 12/06/2025 18:48

The bbc news, chiffchaffs, a pheasant, a muntjac in the back field, ds cursing his computer game. 😊

Arrestedforit · 12/06/2025 18:50

A wood pigeon cooing, traffic and the breeze rustling the trees in the garden. A plane overhead and some children playing somewhere.
I love hearing children playing outdoors this time of year.

Wigtopia · 12/06/2025 18:51

Birds in the garden and faintly I can hear next door’s baby having a little wail, bless her.

Borgonzola · 12/06/2025 18:52

An aeroplane going over the garden, and my nearly 3yo chuntering away to herself in her own world Smile

NetballHoop · 12/06/2025 18:52

The ticking of a grandfather clock and the usual tinnitus.

ohyesido · 12/06/2025 18:53

the Dog Tanian theme tune while my grandson chuckles, who could ask for more

LyndaSnellsSniff · 12/06/2025 18:53

My neighbours shrieking in their hot tub. So I've put some 90s dance music to try and drown it out.

CurlewKate · 12/06/2025 18:54

DP telling the cat that if he stops begging, he might get a little bit of barbecued duck after dinner….

Slatterndisgrace · 12/06/2025 19:32

A beautiful blackbird which has added a really amusing squeal to his repertoire. It makes me smile every time.
