I am sitting in the garden listening to wood pigeons, house sparrows, skylarks, a radio in the distance and the sound of my five year old "Goy"ing in his swing, he is profoundly disabled and "Goy" is his happy sound. Every time I ask if he wants "more" he smiles which is his way of saying "yes".

What can you hear?

Bird song from the garden (patio doors are open as finally there is some decent weather.
Distant cars from the main road.
Dog huffing in his sleep.
Living room clock ticking.

Blackbird, Wood Pigeon, Bees and then cars driving past, which spoils it a bit.

Doihavetogotoworkdotcom1 · 12/06/2025 20:55

The birds singing.
A train in the distance

Lovelycupofcoffee · 12/06/2025 21:09

My cat snoring
noisy bloody neighbours
birds singing in the trees outside

blackheartsgirl · 12/06/2025 21:11

I can hear

dd2 running a bath and the boiler kicking in

the jackdaws chacking overhead, they start flying to their roosting spots at the beginning of dusk. I love them.

distant sound of traffic on the bypass about a mile away.

I can also hear a dog barking faintly somewhere

A plane going over.

DD swinging on her climbing frame.

Oh goody, another plane!

AllProperTeaIsTheft · 12/06/2025 21:15

The kitchen clock ticking. Birdsong from the garden. Ds pottering around upstairs.

WibbleyPie · 12/06/2025 21:23

The washing machine washing my uniform from today, one dog licking her paws and the other sniffing intently at my shoes by the bed, and the faint rattling of the fast food shop next door.

OneLoudTiger · 12/06/2025 21:26

My elderly cat licking her paws after some food. Very quiet here this evening!

I’m in my local pub. I can hear women playing darts in the lounge, two regulars playing pool in the bar, DH chatting with the barmaid beside me and DNA Stories on the TV. The puggy (slot machine) beside me is making a weird humming noise and it sounds like a fridge.

One of the local pub dogs has just come flying in so I can now hear his tail whacking against the bar.
