Coconut water - does anyone actually like this?

Bought some today, as been told it’s a great thirst quencher.

Erm, it’s a ‘Nope’ from me!

Love it. But I am S Asian, so used to it. The stuff you get in the UK doesn't compare to the real thing fresh from a real coconut.

I love it. Refreshing but natural and a not-overpowering flavour.

I think I would like it, but it has a laxative effect on me.

It's not for me. But the 4 year old loves it.

@Slightyamusedandsilly where do you buy yours from? Maybe the one I bought is defective 😂

By all accounts, I should at least like it, as I love all things coconut.

BigJanette I’m the same - love coconut. I was really expecting to like coconut water but it wasn’t nice at all!

You could try adding mint to it, or blending with lemon juice.

My teenage son drinks loads of it! I’ve tried it and agree with you, it’s a bit bland

My dh buys the cartons but I don't drink it as I find coconut stuff tastes soapy .

Theres an extra cocunutty pressed one which is lovely. Im not as keen on the original one.

I tried various brands when I was on a juice diet years ago. Some brands were much better than others. Also cold from the fridge was nicer. You might just need to find a brand you like OP.

I agree, none are comparable to a real, fresh coconut.

The stuff in the TetraPaks is awful - just basically water with a slight tinge of coconut. I don’t get it at all

Fresh coconut milk from an actual coconut - lovely. just punch a couple of holes in one and drink from one, job done, and then you can use the flesh for cooking or as shavings on fruit, yoghurt or breakfast stuff.

It makes an excellent base for smoothies

What a coincidence!
My DS came home with a carton of coconut water today and offered me, fortunately, a v small glass full.
It had very little flavor of coconut or anything else really, but there was a weird tang to it that I like to think was the potassium?
I bravely chugged it down but it didn't have much flavor and was not as good as coconut water i tried seven or so years ago.
This one is from Brazil, maybe they don't do coconuts very well there?🤷

I like it but it’s hard to find one without sugar added and I don’t like that.

I can only drink the vita coco pressed one in the white carton the rest taste like dish water 🤢

The only coconut I like is in a Pina Colada.

Had a tetrapak carton of it once, well known brand. Decanted it into a jug and it had green/blue tinged mould towards the bottom of the carton. Put me off for life. 🤢

ETA - seem to remember reading about mould being an issue. Decant it from the carton to check
