Boris is 60 and though presumably pretty healthy and wealthy doesn't being 80 when your child is going to be at uni cause challwnges? I always think with these things you are risking a child becoming a care fiver at an early age or having a distorted view of a parent due to a large age gap.

The older Dad option also seems to the option for famous and wealthy men and personally I do not know many women in their bid 30s dating men who by some measures are pensioners.

Good luck to them though

Boris Johnson's wife Carrie announces arrival of fourth child

Mrs Johnson, 37, said they are 'totally smitten' with their new baby girl whom they have named Poppy Eliza Josephine Johnson. She was born on Wednesday at University College London Hospital

i doubt it shall be his last

he is one of those men that can’t be tamed these type of ‘bad boy 🤢’ men are always loved by some women plus he is famous and extremely wealthy

having been on mn for some years I can remember a number of discussions about Boris Johnson being attractive 🤔 i think that was a less popular opinion after 2016

CharlotteRumpling · 25/05/2025 10:03

Sunak is far wealthier than Johnson. As is his father-in- law Narayan Murthy, a billionaire still with the same quite unglam woman he married in his 20s.

Something to be said for boring non-posh values.

Marina Warner ? Allegra Mostyn-Owen? No idea about the other two, but Carrie Johnson probably wouldn't appreciate that. And she is a very impressive woman.

It's just possible these women have agency and make choices.

Oh absolutely. And two of the three named (at least) used that "agency and choice" to have an affair with Boris while he was still married to someone else. Classy.

Why just him?

There have been more politicians than just them two!

Fwiw I have an opinion on all politicians with politics I don’t agree with, anyone who’s had an affair that’s known about, anyone who’s done something criminal we know about and anyone who lives a life I don’t agree with who have chosen to make that life public and therefore open to discussion.

That’s positive or negative opinion.

The same way people will have an opinion on any actions I make in public and anything private that I choose to indulge to them.

edited to change too to two 🤦🏼‍♀️

Edited

As I said, as long as you apply it across the board, to all politicians and their personal lives, that's fine.

I think it is somewhat easier when you are trousering the kind of cash that Al is every year.
Plus all of the extra-marital he is nailing.

Yes but will this money still be rolling in when he is seventy-five to eighty years old when this current batch of dc are heading off to university?

Financing them through that period between uni and their first earning job is one of the most expensive as a parent.

And, before that, how will he afford 4 x sets of public school fees? Eton costs about £52k a year nowadays!

She’s outrageously ambitious and will likely be the one to skip away to the nearest Cotswolds power guy once Boris has no political currency left. She’s not even 40 yet. Taking into account her own dysfunctional childhood (product of an affair, father remained married to his wife) she’s making a decent job of it with these four but I can’t see Boris as being enough for her long term.

(& aren’t there 11 at least? Charlotte Owen, the art dealer’s daughter and Jennifer Arcuri’s very blonde child who holds a super injunction on reporting)

Yes , I think it must be accepted knowledge about Arcuri's child surely.

I think it's safe to say that if Keir was shagging anything that moved the press would be all over it.

treetopsgreen · 25/05/2025 10:09

Yes this. I find it mine boggling Carrie is prepared to turn a blind eye to all the stories.

she's the type of woman who thinks she has won because she has "got" him, the stories won't bother her.

McCartneyOnTheHeath · 24/05/2025 17:11

I knew Carrie would want a fourth to equal the family he had with his first wife.

I did wonder if that was why she ended up in hospital earlier this year. She seemed to need extra medical attention above and beyond a normal 30-something.

Hope the baby and Carrie are both in rude health now.

Four under school age is a lot. I doubt Alexander does much parenting tbh.

theunbreakablecleopatrajones · 25/05/2025 10:17

I didn’t know they had a third one..

But I suppose a pack of siblings is some protection against a BJ of a father.

dottydodah · 25/05/2025 09:43

The pictures of Carrie and her new baby are lovely ,she looks radiant.Surely a picture to warm the heart? Boris wasnt perfect but he doesnt deserve some of the nasty comments on here.Lots of wealthy older men have younger wives. Like it or not ,that is nature .His children will be well provided for financially ,and Carrie is young and healthy.Boris is very charismatic ,and attractive to women .Judging by some men on here he is a saint! People saying men are "picked" by women are way off the mark. We hear daily on MN and elsewhere, of high achieving well off women "settling" for lazy men .Workshy, and not engaged with their families at all!

Alright Boris!

I hate to break it to you, but now she has had the brood of kids she wanted before she hits 40, Carrie will have her eye on the hunt for a wealthier partner.

I don’t think BJ’s shagging around bothers her because she has a bigger grand plan.

I think we might have different perspectives on what it means to be 'human'.

For instance, Liz Truss might be mad as a box of frogs, but I am pretty sure she doesn't have secret children.

she did have an affair though.

Well yeah, an affair - not, as far as we know, dozens of them.

Look at the resemblance. The suggestion is not of a romantic relationship.

Thank you, I wondered that, just wasn’t sure.

PigmyGoat · 25/05/2025 10:37

SquashedMallow · 25/05/2025 08:28

I know what you mean . A lot of people on here are only starting their families in their mid to late 30s. I was late 20s. And the difference I feel now at late 30s compared to how I felt then is remarkable. I feel wretched some days and couldn't imagine being pregnant or having a toddler. Let alone at 60.

He could live until he's 100. But he's overweight and likes his wine , it's unlikely. He could be in good health at 80, or he could be riddled with dementia or other chronic health conditions. Not a great card to deal a tiny baby.

But, in richer circles I think it matters less. They have lots of people and resources and privileges around them. It won't replace a parent, but it will mean that in the event of Boris's death , the child won't suffer hardship in all the same ways a "normal " family night.

I do like Boris, and always have. I think him and Carrie genuinely love each other and I think he loves fatherhood. In my opinion, he is the prime minister I felt most happy with.

Why cant Boris focus on his existing kids instead of having more?
Exactly what PP said, imagine how his older kids would feel

Because his wife wanted them.

The AncestryDNA finds for that group of siblings would be revealing

Yes! I was thinking this. I get Reddit updates every day from people finding out that their father/grandfather is not who they thought it would be.

Also re: 'loving fatherhood'

1). Affairs are time consuming - he was either skiving off work or spending time with his mistresses when he could have been spending time with his first 4 children.

2). He didn't even acknowledge one of his children until forced to do so.

Agree about affairs being distracting. I'm not aware of any other PM being caught "sharing a glass of wine" 🤔 with their mistress in Number 10 during work hours.

He makes a lot of money on the lecture circuit plus whatever he gets from other sources. The fees are covered.

HRTQueen · 25/05/2025 11:08

He is very popular in America and Asia they love that posh English pray act he made millions in a few months

I wish his drive was money but unfortunately it’s politics I have no doubt he shall be putting himself forward again probably some deal with Reform

She will be disappointed. Wealthy men won't want a woman with 4 x Johnson children in tow. Generally they will want a new younger woman preferably without that much baggage.

Eton's fees are apparently about to go up to £63K a year and will no doubt continue to rise. So, if his children follow in his footsteps, he's looking at finding around quarter of a million every year out of taxed income, over and above what he's already paying out for his other children. I'm not sure that he can really guarantee being that much in demand on the lecture circuit as he gets further and further distanced from any real power, nor will his funders have any real incentive to keep slinging money his way.

I agree. Not all rich men are looking for a 'trophy' but if they do she doesn't qualify. She has 4 kids, is no longer that young and if I'm being frank, is no great beauty. Very wealthy men can take their pick and I'm not sure she'd have that much to offer.
