Boris is 60 and though presumably pretty healthy and wealthy doesn't being 80 when your child is going to be at uni cause challwnges? I always think with these things you are risking a child becoming a care fiver at an early age or having a distorted view of a parent due to a large age gap.

The older Dad option also seems to the option for famous and wealthy men and personally I do not know many women in their bid 30s dating men who by some measures are pensioners.

Good luck to them though

Boris Johnson's wife Carrie announces arrival of fourth child

Mrs Johnson, 37, said they are 'totally smitten' with their new baby girl whom they have named Poppy Eliza Josephine Johnson. She was born on Wednesday at University College London Hospital

Marina is probably relieved to have offloaded him now. She's also a successful person in her own right. Carrie isn't.

SmallSoupcon · 25/05/2025 14:38

Jesus someone send him a condom gift bouquet. Makes you wonder how much he pays out a month in child support...

Yes this. I find it mine boggling Carrie is prepared to turn a blind eye to all the stories.

Hopefully she's aware that if they do it with you then they'll do it to you.

I think what's odd about her is that her mother had an affair with her father, a married man, who didn't want any relationship with her. Any yet she's chosen a man exactly like that as the father of her own kids.

I think that is WHY she chose him - the chance to rewrite her story with a different conclusion.

Imagine how much he’ll be spending on school fees.

His financial woes clearly behind now in the post-Prime Minister phase (I wonder how he’s making his money?)

Books, newspaper articles, TV appearances, after dinner speaking- he’s earning much more now than he ever did as PM!

A comment that relates to things said on several pages and so is not a reply to any particular post.

I know a woman, twenty or so years younger than The Man Johnson, who used to work for and then with him.

She says he was one of the most charming and witty men she had ever encountered. And that was when he wasn't flirting, because she made it clear she liked him but Not Like That (well, she wouldn't. He's male.)

This, discounting both money and power, might explain why he gets on with, gets off with, and gets it on with so many women.

Pedallleur · 25/05/2025 15:32

Must have some hidden quality or he is a magician. Neither of these apparent to most of us but he does a good impression of a buffoon and a charlatan. He has certainly got through life on those qualities.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 25/05/2025 15:37

Maybe it is only when he turns the searchlight on someone in person that whatever-it-is works. I don't know him; I don't know how many of us on this board do. If someone does, I would be really interested to hear her opinion!

ARainyNightInSoho · 25/05/2025 16:00

@HRTQueen why do you think he’s extremely wealthy? He has at least nine children, his wife hasn’t worked for quite a while and he has always lived in areas where property is incredibly expensive and moves in circles where everyone else is much wealthier than him. I should think he feels quite poor. Carrie certainly didn’t marry him for the money.

Yes, I've read the same. I understand being charmed by seemingly physically unattractive men. But with him, we do know more about who he is, the kind of man he is. A fling with him? I can potentially understand. Building a life and having children with him is on another level of delusion.

It was another minister, cannot remember who. Much as Michael Gove is the rudest man in politics, he would probably have knocked before entering.

I think it was gavin Williamson which explains his inexplicable career succes

Because he earned few million with in a few months of resigning from after dinner speeches

in American and in Asia he is extremely popular he will earn far more in this role than most ex uk politicians and even Theresa May earns a nice living from this

sadly that isn’t where his interests lie I wish it was I really don’t care how much he earns I don’t want him meddling in our politics again

HRTQueen · 25/05/2025 17:08

And most of children (we know of) are adults

I am sure he has a clever accountant and takes advantage (not the first ex politician to do so) of the many freebies

and I certainly wouldn’t believe him when he says he is broke

and Jennifer Arcuri’s very blonde child who holds a super injunction on reporting.

If that much is known then it’s not a very effective super injunction.

guinnessguzzler · 25/05/2025 17:11

I think super injunctions are mostly only effective for lawyers in the long term.

Her mother had an affair.
The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.
I haven’t much time for Boris’s 2nd wife - wasn’t she the other woman when he was still married to his first wife - but at the time Carrie and Boris got together, Marina had cancer.
If he’s been done it with you he might do it to you.
As James Goldsmith apparently said “Marrying your mistress creates a vacancy.
Nice.

I’ve heard both.

I’ve heard from various sources that he is very charming, witty and likeable.

I’ve also heard, from numerous sources, that the affable buffoon act is entirely an act and that is very sly, condescending, impatient, rude, bad tempered and just downright nasty.

I don’t know which I believe.

The two descriptions are very different, but of course everybody has good days and bad days.

I’m inclined to believe the former.

I think if he was genuinely unpleasant to people he wouldn’t have got as far as he has.

It's possible to be both. He knows when to turn on the charm when it's in his interests, and how to be devious to suit his desires. The evidence is in front of us.

Plenty of people get further than they should by treating other people as expendable and by being unpleasant. His superficial 'Jolly Boris' act is just that.
A deeply flawed character.

LindorDoubleChoc · 26/05/2025 11:08

I'm very definitely not a fan of Boris but this channel 4 documentary was really fascinating - well made, and insightful

https://www.channel4.com/programmes/the-rise-and-fall-of-boris-johnson

Having said that, I can fully understand being attracted to a man who can write and speak to beautifully. His announcement to the nation after Prince Philip died, and his tribute to the Queen in Parliament were, I felt, quite genuine and I do believe that he wrote at least part of those speeches himself.

He seems to be very careful when turning on the charm or not. If he had ever behaved in a manner similar to the allegations made against Russell Brand, I am sure it would have come to light by now.

Pretty sure I wouldn't; especially the 'tart' bit.
