Do you ever come home from a meal out

And want to eat again?????

I’ve had a good intake today, porridge & fruit at breakfast
salmon & stir fry veg at lunch
just been out with a friend and had scampi & chips (literally 7 pieces of scampi)

come home and I’m trying to justify making myself an egg sandwich

I’m ravenous

Well thank you for not making me feel like a porky pig
im just tucking into en egg mayo bagel

Egg mayo! 🤮🤮 should of been a fried egg sandwich! With a couple of bits of crispy bacon on top of the egg!

Tigergirl80 · 16/05/2025 22:12

Sometimes but you should have a drink of water before having something else to eat. Sometimes your brain tricks you into thinking you’re hungry but what you actually need is a drink.

Muffinmam · 16/05/2025 22:15

CurlyhairedAssassin · 16/05/2025 20:12

No, I can't understand that at all. You can't possibly be ravenous. Did you not have a dessert? Was it only a small portion of chips? Any veg?

No chance you're pregnant?

Why do women always jump to this question?

It doesn’t matter if she is or if she isn’t. It doesn’t change the fact she still wants to continue eating.

Yes sometimes, I’ll come hone feeling super full then like 2 hours later be starving again, then feel guilty for wantting to eat again

Are people using the word "starving" for just the normal feeling of no longer having a full stomach? i mean, most of us can sleep through the night without waking up to top up our stomachs. We are not meant to be in a permanent state of our stomachs being 100% full.

I`ve been like this today just so hungry but i think its because im due on soon.
I will spend the next few days eating enough for a small army.
I started with a banana toast then pringles porkpie then another porkpie pasty more pringles.
Went out for dinner to day came home still hungry ordered food had that still peckish.
Now having pringles.

What is with that? Recently I’ve been going mad for sweets prior to getting my period, I could go to Lidl for a bag of their Percy pigs, and spend easily a tenner on various snacks/sweet things

honestly, the drive to eat is very real! It’s surely not real hunger, though 🤔

Mounjaronew · 16/05/2025 22:18

Mounjaro for all :-)

ChocolateCinderToffee · 16/05/2025 22:19

An egg sandwich is health food in the great scheme of things. Do it.

ThisPearlOP · 16/05/2025 22:21

It's like some people here never had a binge attack or never realized they ate scary much I mean yeah I get it that you can restrict or be on diet etc I do that as well whenever I can but it doesn't happen that there just is no hunger or you can just be like ok I will stop eating now even tough it tastes good again unless you are strictly dieting or something in wich case congrats but as far as eating goes there is no point where you cannot eat more for example at family gathering earlier this year I probably ate 10k calories I mean it. I am talking whole boxes of cookies and multiple casseroles, bowl after bowl baked potatoes etc but evntually you have to stop or people will say stuff etc and again this is what I was talking about unless something else stops you you cannot just decide against eating more !!!!!!

It was just a light use of the word to emphasise that I sometimes feel hungry a few hours after eating out, doesn’t tend to happen at all when I make meals at home, didn’t mean I was literally starving.

I never understand this. After a tasting menu, or even a three course meal, there's absolutely no way I could eat any more. I generally don't completely finish tasting menus and will just have a bite or so of the last few courses.

DH had a family reunion in his hometown a couple of weeks ago and had scampi and chips for nostaligia's sake, I just asked him, and there were about eight scampi, chips, peas, and salad. He apparently ate it all but it was just the right amount.

He's 6' 1", slim but well muscled and active.

Make of that what you will.

You must be some sort of saint

I remember my sister told me of a friend of hers who’d been to a v well known Michelin starred restaurant and had to stop for a burger on the way home!

i would throw up

IttttttssssME · 16/05/2025 22:38

Yes

Tinseltotties · 16/05/2025 22:41

If you are genuinely hungry then you’re hungry. Feed yourself. You should never have to justify eating when you are hungry.

DissDissOrDiss · 16/05/2025 22:42

@ThisPearlOP not my experience with food at all.

Whorl · 16/05/2025 22:47

ThisPearlOP · 16/05/2025 21:51

And I never understand THIS!!!! so you say you "can't" eat any more? Why? Like I get running out of money or being too ashamed to keep eating eventually but you say that as if your own desire to eat just goes down, like by itself. I have never, not once my life, at no point ever, had that. What would make you not be able to eat any more???

So I can just eat all day, then go to an event and stuff face, then go home and eat again. I don't even feel that. And then here people are all suprised of course you can just keep eating why not??? I could literally eat and eat and eat absolutely non stop and I mean non stop. Three kebabs and just meh. what are we having next? 8 jars of green olives as snack just sitting there I truly do not understand how people can be in a state where they would not eat that is not a thing or it would require hard diet restriction like why are doing this every day NO WAY you can!!!!!

Really?

Do you never feel 'full', satiated?

I just eat until I've had enough and then stop.

Do you not do that?

Exactly. Starting to think there are a few Mounjaro marketing peeps or bots on here. Strangely written posts indeed...

Obviously.

EmmaWoodhouseOfHighbury · 16/05/2025 22:54

That's not much food really...I'd be hungry and I only weigh 8 stones.

ChocolateCinderToffee · 16/05/2025 22:54

I suffer from delayed satiety. I don’t feel full until about 90 minutes after I stop eating. It’s a problem.

Picle · 16/05/2025 22:56

princesspadam · 16/05/2025 22:04

Well DSS just came home and asked if I wanted to share an Indian 😂 so I’m glad I just had the egg bagel

in the ketchup vs brown then I think it depends on what you’re having:
chips, egg & beans = ketchup
egg with any kind of breakfast items = brown
egg sandwich = mayo & salad cream

Was it a fried egg bagel @princesspadam ?

I agree with your sauces but a bit of mustard is great in a fried egg sandwich Grin

@CurlyhairedAssassin It’s such a weird post, isn’t it?!

Cyclebabble · 16/05/2025 23:02

On an individual meal basis I would not worry about it. I went out to a well known London restaurant. It was nice but the portions were tiny. I had a bag of chips on the way home.
