What's the most amount of showers you've ever had in one day? And how come?

For me I think it was five!

  1. Shower in the morning getting up.
  2. went to the gym. Another shower.
  3. Swam after work - so showered there
  4. Managed to slip in some mud walking to house... and got my legs and hair covered in mud
  5. Went in garden for evening with kids and all that... and a bird pooed on my head and arm 😂

You?

Probably 2. But why did you shower if you were going to the gym?

Soyfinger · 15/05/2025 16:14

This is very much the type of question my 14 year old adhd son will throw at me out of no where

and I always just make up an answer because I truly can’t be arsed to think about a truthful response!

so… 12

Cakencookieobsessed · 15/05/2025 16:16

Probably 3. I normally have 2 but on some rare occasions I have one during the day if I am hot and sweaty and need to go back out. I won't get into bed sweaty.

Soyfinger · 15/05/2025 16:17

I love the fact that the last thread you started yesterday was about how you basically have nothing to do at work! You weren’t joking!😂

dudsville · 15/05/2025 16:21

I used to live in a very hot and humid part of the world that didn't have much air con. it wasn't uncommon to have one upon waking, one if I could nip home at lunch time, one when I got home from work, and 1 before bed. That was when I could handle the heat. Now, when I've been in similar conditions and am struggling to sleep, I would add midnight cold baths to the list!

NeverDropYourMooncup · 15/05/2025 16:25

Seven. Hot flushes and peri floods in a heatwave.

Cannot recommend.

uncomfortablydumb60 · 15/05/2025 16:59

One is quite enough for me. I’m disabled and don’t have the energy. Plus I have dry skin

susiedaisy1912 · 15/05/2025 17:12
  1. One before work one after work as I worked in a hospital and one before bed. This was during a heatwave

2 is my standard - morning and before going to bed - but when it’s been very hot and I’ve come home from work in a sweaty mess, I’ve had one then (but still have my pre-bed one as well). Happens maybe 2 or 3 times a year at most.

12doublerolls · 15/05/2025 17:17

3 but I shower twice a day anyway so not really very the top

OllysArmyRidesAgain · 15/05/2025 17:19

I can’t think of having more than 2, my normal routine is to shower every morning, I used to wash my hair too, now my hair gets done every 2-3 days but I still have a quick shower.

the second one is only if I have done something that warrants it such as swimming or if it is a really hot day. If I am going out out I might shower as part of getting ready.

I have a home based desk job and my exercise is usually not the type that gets you hot and sweaty.

faerietales · 15/05/2025 17:21

Why did you shower in the morning if you knew you were going to the gym?

For me, two max - and that's only on really hot summer days.

mepipesneedlagging · 15/05/2025 17:32

I thought this was about the weather and where we live for some reason 😂🌧️

Because I don't like going out with out a shower where other people will be. I hum a bit!

But what would you do if you got sweaty/dirty like i did? Just not wash the whole day?

People seem amazed that I showered before gym?

Doesn't everyone get up and shower?

I wouldn't want to be unshowered when I'm going somewhere other people will be. It wouldn't be fair to them.

OP posts:
Spidey66 · 15/05/2025 18:58

I have one in the morning, maybe another if its warm or I've been swimming.

If I was going swimming in the a/m I wouldn't shower until I'd been swimming though.

How whiffy are you?

so when you get to the gym are you sickened by everyone? Because the majority if not all will not have showered BEFORE the gym

So now you know they don’t
is that you’re going to mean you feel in any way different at the gym?

Is it fair for them to be near you towards the end of your workout when you're sweaty? I absolutely wouldn't have a shower before going to the gym.
