Just for fun or to have a moan. What do you hate the most.

OP posts:
NancyJoan · 13/05/2025 17:36

Putting the laundry away is hateful. I’ve never washed a ceiling though.

greengreyblue · 13/05/2025 17:37

Sherararara · 13/05/2025 16:29

I hate washing the ceiling. It’s such a faff pulling it down, stuffing it in the washer, hanging it back up…Don’t get me started on ironing it!

Here you go. Clearly a joke, no?

ReacherOMGyes · 13/05/2025 17:37

greengreyblue · 13/05/2025 17:35

Cleaning the ceiling was the joke. The poster said she has difficulty getting it in the washing machine…….

Edited

That was another poster taking the mickey, the post about washing ceilings was definitely real

YYURYYUCICYYUR4ME · 13/05/2025 17:38

It is cleaning the oven for me!

greengreyblue · 13/05/2025 17:38

Yes this started it.

Washing the walls/ceiling.

Very first post of the thread.....

Beautifulweeds · 13/05/2025 17:40

Hoovering then changing bedsheets.

Alltheburpees · 13/05/2025 17:41

I hate cleaning my Venetian blinds so I don’t do it very often.
Love ironing though.

Graceunderfire567 · 13/05/2025 17:42

Cleaning out the cage of an elderly capybara

Just kidding 😃

I hate all of it!

But if I had to choose … it’s the fridge

Sink soup. I hate that so much.

I hate the dishwasher, but hate washing up more. The dishwasher takes minutes but I spend so much time avoiding doing it. Just don't understand.

I read some decluttering expect advice to time yourself emptying the dishwasher- she said it takes minutes not half an hour, which to me I think it does. Helped me see it as less of a chore….. still leave it for DH to do most the time though 🤣

ickky · 13/05/2025 17:43

Bedsheets are joint first. This my my most hated. I don't mind stripping it, washing it or hanging it out and bringing it in. It's the putting it back on that really gets on my tits, especially the bastard buttons on the quilt. Why did they ever change it from poppers?

Cleaning the windows! Mine are so easy to clean but I hate it.

BeNiceWhenItsFinished · 13/05/2025 17:44

Taking congealed dirty plates, mugs and cutlery out of a luke-warm bowl of scummy, greasy water with bits floating in it that someone else has dumped the washing-up in, so that I can empty the bowl and wash up properly.

<we don't have a dishwasher or room for one>

Olika · 13/05/2025 17:44

Ironing. I refuse to iron anything. My DH irons his own clothes.

MargotB · 13/05/2025 17:48

A few hated tasks - cleaning windows, cleaning the shower, moving the bed to vacuum under it (heavy divan bed), defrosting the freezer.

I occasionally wipe walls if there's a mark, but I've never washed a ceiling. In fact, I've never heard of anyone washing their ceilings!

I'm grateful for my dishwasher, steam generator iron and 'self cleaning' oven. They all make life easier.

greengreyblue · 13/05/2025 16:33

Doing what to it? A sweep takes minutes as does a mop.

It’s a very large kitchen with loads of furniture and rugs and stuff.

First, move all the stools and chairs and pet food bowls and laundry baskets etc.
Then brush or hoover.
Roll up the rugs and stack them on the couch.
Then mop, with involves a fair bit of scrubbing because I don’t do it often enough and also we and the pets are in and out the back door to the garden constantly so it is always mucky.
Then put all the stools and chairs and rugs back.

Rarely takes less than 45 minutes. And it’s such a hassle.

Arancia · 13/05/2025 17:52

Vacuuming and grocery shopping.

SisterTeatime · 13/05/2025 17:52

fixingmylife · 13/05/2025 17:08

Hoovering the stairs, which isn't on the list. You would think they could invent a robotic vacuum that can do stairs - that would be fab.

They are working on it, apparently!

stayathomer · 13/05/2025 17:54

Washing frying pans and washing out the bin (indoor small bin or big bin!). Also cleaning the bathroom or mopping floors! (We have one of those awful scraggly mops!)

Disturbia81 · 13/05/2025 17:55

Wow.. never heard of washing walls and ceilings.

I hate the bathroom for obvious reasons!

Toooldtopretend · 13/05/2025 17:59

Cleaning the insides of the windows (the window cleaner does outside). They still look terrible when the sun shines!

YYURYYUCICYYUR4ME · 13/05/2025 18:07

Alltheburpees · 13/05/2025 17:41

I hate cleaning my Venetian blinds so I don’t do it very often.
Love ironing though.

I stick a fluffy sock on my hand and wipe!!

HmmNot · 13/05/2025 18:09

Putting the green waste into the wormy composting thing and getting a face full of flies every time.

I also hate putting away laundry.

Criteria16 · 13/05/2025 18:14

Emptying the dishwasher. I hate it with a passion.

Summersunshinebliss · 13/05/2025 19:37

I used to dread the weekly meal plan and then along came Chat Gpt 🥳

I absolutely refuse to have anything to do with the bins. Bins are dh responsibility in all ways shape and form. He's so good he's became our streets binfluincer 🤣

We never iron, dh makes the beds and we share the dishwasher.

Oh the Joy's of adult life Grin
