Just for fun or to have a moan. What do you hate the most.

OP posts:
TroysMammy · 13/05/2025 16:48

I can only pick one? Then I'll pick the one I like which is gardening. All the others are tedious and get in the way of things I genuinely enjoy. My partner doesn't pull his weight, he washes dinner dishes and half arsed brushes the kitchen and living room floor, totally ignoring the shower room and utility room so why should I spend my time scrubbing and skivvying the rest of the house? I do the bare minimum.

Washing the walls/ceiling.

I've lived in my house for 15 years and have never washed a ceiling and have only wiped a wall if there are sticky fingerprints on it! Should I be washing walls and ceilings???

LittleGreenDuck · 13/05/2025 16:51

Im so pleased that I'm not the only one who has never washed a ceiling.

I hate putting things away: washing, shopping or clean plates. Also not keen on changing the sheets on DS' cabin bed, but don't mind doing the others.

Biscuits247 · 13/05/2025 16:52

Washing up. I'd rather clean the loo. One of my top (luxury spend) priorities is buying a dishwasher, I cannot wait for the day when I don't have to spend half an hour at the sink with all the clutter out waiting and then drying.

Has to be cleaning the bathroom. I’d rather shit in my hands and clap.

I used to detest ironing but don’t really bother anymore. I used to iron every single item then lockdown hit and I thought why bother with no one can see me in them. And never really started again. If it’s something that requires an iron like say a linen shirt ill drag the fucker out but I generally just leave those items to molder in the hotpress never to see the light of day again

I guess that would save you cleaning the loo... 💩

MsNevermore · 13/05/2025 16:53

Folding laundry 🫠

I have no problem washing it, drying it or putting it away once it’s folded…..but the actual folding of it?
Hell.

I find joy in opening the dryer to find 5 bath towels, instead of 5000 items of tiny people clothing.

TomatoSandwiches · 13/05/2025 16:54

Cooking for others, don't mind for myself and people that like what I like but it's utter misery having to meal plan, prep and cook for other people's tastes every day.

Also putting washing away, can wash, hang out to dry loads of washing all day but folding and putting away? No thanks.

Dishwasher is practically life changing 😂

I didn’t have one for ages. Then my dad noticed how many times a day I was stood at the sink washing up and bought me a dishwasher 😍
Now I don’t hand wash anything. DH has a set of fancy, wooden handled kitchen knives that he’s very precious about. They have to be hand washed…..so I refuse to use them and bought myself a set of dishwasher-safe knives 🤷🏻‍♀️😂

Littlemiracles232504 · 13/05/2025 16:58

Putting the washing away, I love washing it and drying though

SisterTeatime · 13/05/2025 17:01

I hate cleaning the bathroom, dusting the banisters, and for some reason, cleaning the kitchen sink - even though it’s really quite a satisfying job.

Delatron · 13/05/2025 17:03

Putting the washing away. Because there’s so much I seem to have to do it every bloody day, up and down the stairs.

Something I don’t do that often, I don’t mind. I don’t really iron. Garden a bit but don’t mind that.

Neverenoughbiscuits · 13/05/2025 17:04

None of the options:

Emptying dishwasher
Putting washing away

Smoronic · 13/05/2025 17:04

Deciding what is for dinner. It drives me crazy. It's always down to me. No one else has an opinion. Met with a shrug when trying to meal plan. And then picky eaters or dieting that means no one likes what I went for.

fixingmylife · 13/05/2025 17:08

Hoovering the stairs, which isn't on the list. You would think they could invent a robotic vacuum that can do stairs - that would be fab.

Expensivecoffee · 13/05/2025 17:10

Cooking.
I dont cook now.

Blackcordoroys · 13/05/2025 17:12

Nothing is as bad as changing the sheets on a cabin bed.

RaraRachael · 13/05/2025 17:12

Hoovering.

Thaf is OH's contribution to household chores.

Never in my 60 plus years have I washed walls or ceilings

ChocolateCinderToffee · 13/05/2025 17:22

Cleaning the oven.

I rarely do it.

It's becoming apparent that this isn't a task a lot of people on here do. Quite interesting.

What even is this task? Do you actually wash your walls and ceiling? With soap and water? Why?

I hate all the chores—obviously, they're tedious—but especially dusting.

Sense of humour bypass or what!

greengreyblue · 13/05/2025 17:33

undarking the washing is the worst. All that dark that gets on it overnight. Takes ages to remove.

Where was the joke?

I hate cleaning the bathroom, shower trap makes me physically gag. I'm considering getting a cleaner in just to do my bathroom once a month

TheOtherAgentJohnson · 13/05/2025 17:35

Christ if it was meant to be a joke I'm glad I missed it.

greengreyblue · 13/05/2025 17:35

Cleaning the ceiling was the joke. The poster said she has difficulty getting it in the washing machine…….

Gettingbysomehow · 13/05/2025 17:35

I hate cleaning bathrooms, my cleaner does that.
I love ironing its very relaxing.
