That’s democracy. Everyone gets a vote and people have different views and priorities.

Well if you go by Reform don't need policies then you shouldn't be surprised when no one wants to go into coalition because they have no policies. Lib Dem are 2nd in Cornwall so obviously they will seek a coalition with those who have policies. It's called good local governance.

Plenty of Policies here :

If things continue as they are, Reform won't need a coalition to form a government. They're at 33% in some polls.

That polling still won't give them a workable overall majority.

There's 4 years to go and their polling keeps getting stronger.

Big if there! There are four years to go. The Tories looked invincible in 2021.

A lot can happen in 4 years.

Several by-elections for a start.....

It is a big if. I haven't pretended otherwise. Just stating the figures right now. Things could change instantly. Equally, things could continue spiralling downwards for Labour as they show no signs of understanding how appalling they are.

They’ve done some unwise irrational stuff I’ll give you.
They’ve also done some ok stuff. That’s the problem for me. I also don’t think that they’re appalling. The Tories hugely surpassed that and most of the UK seems to agree.

EasternStandard · 20/05/2025 13:20

If it’s what the UK agree on then dissatisfaction generally and disapproval for Starmer are both high.

Plus it’s Reform that Labour need to look at as the potential GE winner.

This is sad to read. Just a couple of snippets from the article:
'For the EU, this deal has been like taking fishing rights from a baby'.
'If the UK government can't see the value of our waters, they should consider why the EU has pushed so hard to secure fishing access for so long'.
'Any attempt by the UK or EU to portray the new deal as a continuation of existing arrangements would be a lie'.

Like taking the WFA off not so wealthy pensioners. Interesting that you had my previous comment deleted (because you couldn’t take a swear word) rather than responding to it. Well I will say it again, my dad has a total pension income of £12,500, has no savings and lives in a small flat. He wouldn’t meet any reasonable person’s definition of wealthy. But according to you the removal of the WFA is a Labour positive.

Keir Starmer, our Prime Misogynist, has apologised to Liz Saville Roberts in the HoC today, for his disgusting response at last week's pmqs.
I wonder if Reeves will also apologise for laughing like a hyena as he did it 🤔

He is that. He shows who he is often. Too late.

TheNuthatch · 20/05/2025 14:58

Today's YouGov/Sky poll

Reform 29 -up 1
Labour 22 -down 1
LD 17 -up 1
Con 16 -down 2
Green 10 up 1

Tories now 4th.

I can't believe how easy Starmer made it for the EU. 12 years, what on earth is he doing.

No-one can fathom it out either.

In 12 years time Labour will be gone and he (Starmer) won't care. 🙄

We can add fishing communities to the list of vulnerable groups targeted by Labour.
Next, it's the turn of the disabled.

Think of it from the EU's point of view. They know Labour will be gone at the next election and they also know Reform will win or form an alliance with the Tories, so they push for 12 years knowing they can slap the next government with high tariffs if they try to rectify the situation for our fishermen.

Same with youth movement. The EU's high unemployment figures will go down as their young people head to the UK. Win-win for them.

Level of delusion on this thread is hilarious 😆

Mypinkchequebookholder · 20/05/2025 20:27

@Kugelblitz
Your post of 20.16 is not correct.

The decline of the fishing industry, had several contributing factors.
The "Cod Wars" were a series of conflicts between Britain and Iceland over fishing rights in Icelandic waters, leading to a significant decline in British fishing fleets and the associated communities.

Overfishing, technological advancements that allowed for more efficient fishing, and international agreements also played a role in the industry's decline
