Anyone worked for someone famous?

FishOnTheTrain · 24/04/2025 01:53

I’m working in a company for an influencer/z list celeb. She’s well known in a certain group of people and hangs around with some pretty famous faces. She has her own fashion company.

I don’t report into her, but work closely with her and she is an utter bitch. The way she comes across on social media is so…different. Her intern films her for content daily and she puts on such a smiley show. When the camera is off, she’s rude, demanding, bitches about everyone in the team, including members of the team that go above and beyond to make her business a success and make her happy…I could go on.

she contradicts herself constantly, making me feel like I’m going mad. I know if I died tmrw she wouldn’t care. She cares only about herself and her success. She’s not even nice about her husband, who is such a lovely guy.

I want to get out this company asap. It’s just difficult to know where to go and what to do next so in the meantime…has anyone else experienced similar?

I have lost all respect for this woman. She is awful and everyone that works for her knows it.

He had to be ultra nice for all of those years to atone for The Laughing Gnome Grin

Not to mention the alleged abuse of an underage girl.

I don't know who many of these are but I do know who Harry Rednapp is.
Guess it's generational.

I doubt it, I’m nearly 40. I just have no interest in football or anything associated

Exactly this! What nonsense and no jealousy or other bias at play? Poor women. Again.

Also the weird fascination with what female celebs eat. An earlier poster said her dad worked with Beckham's and said VB was very picky about what she ate. I can't imagine anyone who I work with noticing my eating habits let alone mentioning it to their family members. It's weird. (Unless aforementioned dad was a chef!?) I also can't help but feel DB has hidden asshole depths....those texts about the knighthood ... His "not affair" with Rebecca Loos...yet it's Victoria who always gets a hammering on these threads because she doesn't smile at people she doesn't know and is thin. FFS!

Ooh, yes, Madonna at Eurovision - that was an absolute binfire of epic proportions. She turned up dressed as a pirate, warbled horribly out of tune and then fell over. She was like your weird uncle at family parties.

Contrast her with somebody like Petra Mede - who isn't especially well-known outside of Sweden and Eurovision circles, and also isn't particularly known as a singer... she has true talent and star quality which is evident for all to see, without the need for gimmicks or self-aggrandisement like Madonna.

OMG I loved that spoof Eurovision song Petra Mede did with Måns Zelmerlöw as the interval act a few years ago "Love Love Peace Peace" - I think it got about 10-15 million views just on youtube.

Although I agree somewhat, as evidence for the defense I'd like to submit the hits The Frog Chorus & Mull of Kintyre vs Imagine & Jealous Guy.

Well I have a soft spot for both those McCartney tracks and hate Imagine!

Robson Green was in a play with my sixth form drama teacher - he came to the last night of the sixth form production of Equus and when we all went out for a cheap meal after came with us, was bloody delightful and paid our booze bill before he left without telling us. The drama teacher - also lovely - was Ralph Ineson.

God I love Ralph Ineson 😍

Lol what a diva!

"No one agrees with you". That's rubbish.

Many women on this thread have agreed with me.

Are you able to read? All of their posts are still there.

Edited

Thanks for taking the time to show us that women can be arses, I think I understand your point a lot better now.

Just coming back to airports usually been named after people who are no longer around. Let’s hope the namers of Madeira’s airport don’t come to regret naming theirs Cristiano Renaldo. He has an interesting family history.

MaloryJones · 26/04/2025 21:27

He is not particularly famous but Decades ago (early 1980s) I worked for a company in Nine Elms Lane (it was deserted almost, back then, middle of nothing and nowhere), and one of the guys in another office went on to co present Rough Planet or something I think . It was definitely a holiday show
I forget his name but he is Indian and I found him a thoroughly nice chap at work

MaloryJones · 26/04/2025 21:29

I googled. Sanka Guha and it was Rough Guide to Europe that he presented.

Needtosoundoffandbreathe · 26/04/2025 21:32

Sanka and Magenta - Rough Guide was a great series. Early days of Channel 4 iirc.

I LOVE these types of threads.

I gave Tony Benn a quite long lift once. He was absolutely lovely. Engaged, chatty, funny and just as interesting as you’d expect. I already loved him but I ADORED him after that.

Maybe you picked him up after he let my mum have his taxi when she was pregnant?

King Charles & Camilla - absolutely lovely 👌

I met (then prince) Charles by accident, years ago (I'm now middle aged but was about 16/17 at the time)

I was walking down the street and saw a bloke over the road that looked vaguely familiar

'I better say hello,or my mother will kill me for being ignorant' I thought

Got a lot closer to him and brightly said 'alright mate?'

He smiled back and nodded (he's a lot taller in real life)

It wasn't until I got around the corner it hit me...

My brother once delivered a parcel to Judi Dench

He didn't realise who she was until he'd walked away (there's a theme in my family)

I met David Bellamy when I was about 9 and was rude to the poor bloke (I hadn't wanted to go in the first place and I was tired that day)

He was lovely-I'm sorry David

I went to the same school as hunter from the original gladiators (I started as he'd left)

He's lovely-I met him again in the museum gardens in york

Leafy3 · 26/04/2025 21:51

"Alright mate" to the future king 😆

Harpey · 24/04/2025 08:15

Many years ago I worked for a woman who is now a well known mental health guru. She was utterly toxic and a narcissist.

@Harpey Do you mean celeb turned “expert” on mental health or someone who someone who has come out of the medical world? There are a lot of mental health experts in the media who are lying about their qualifications and/or their actual practice.

I picked him up to speak at a miner’s rally I’d helped organise. In that well known hot bed of socialism, Wimbledon 😬

We all absolutely loved that song and performance - and it's still on our personalised family mixtape to this day!

It's one of the very, very best Eurovision songs ever - even though it wasn't actually an entrant!

It's our yardstick for perfection and a very frequently-heard exclamation in our house on Eurovison night, whenever a mediocre or bad song comes on: "Well, it's certainly no Love Love Peace Peace, is it?!"

Bill Bailey was vile. The worst shoot I’ve ever been on. He treated people appallingly.

Oh no! Really disappointed to read that! He always comes across as being so laid back and funny.

Yes, it's not just a case of not wanting to embarrass people whilst they're still alive; it's mainly that, once they're dead, they can't do anything terrible to make them regret naming something grand after them!

Incidentally, I saw an interesting fact about people honoured on stamps some time ago: the first living non-royal to appear on a UK stamp was Roger Taylor of Queen. Freddie (then deceased for some time) was the actual subject and prominently shown, but they'd chosen a picture where you could also just about see Roger behind on the drums. Great one for a pub quiz!

Oldmouse · 26/04/2025 22:55

Not famous but the daughter of one if the richest men in a middle eastern country, but living in London, she was vile. Spoke to me like I was an idiot and really took me a long time to get over the way she treated me.

Wasn’t that the Brit awards?

That said, the more famous celebs who were lovely themselves, often had people working for them that were obnoxious

Bloody gatekeepers and hangers on! And it's not just the more famous celebs- i hate them and encountered a lot of them on the music scene in a city known for music, when I lived there. Years ago I was dating a member of what is now quite a well known indie band (I'd say C list, are all known to be down to earth, working class type guys) just as they were up and coming. One of these gatekeeps/hangers on's (I think it was a roadie or stage manager of some sort) demanded to know what I was doing in the band's dressing room and drinking a can of their beer. My date stormed over to him and said aggressively "thats my lass you're talking to mate!" (he's a lot more "put together" and clean cut now, but was quite manly and tough looking back then). The GC/hanger on soon apologised and slunk away! Date was a nice guy then, not so sure now after he sent me flirty DMs a few weeks ago....despite having a long-term gf 🙁 (we dated 10 years ago! Of course I ignored him and deleted them).

Served him in Sainsbury’s over 20 years ago. Twat status confirmed.

Yep. I loved DB and saw him perform. But I'm a bit off him now because of the stories about him.

He’s always struck me as a creep 🤷‍♀️
