Anyone worked for someone famous?

I’m working in a company for an influencer/z list celeb. She’s well known in a certain group of people and hangs around with some pretty famous faces. She has her own fashion company.

I don’t report into her, but work closely with her and she is an utter bitch. The way she comes across on social media is so…different. Her intern films her for content daily and she puts on such a smiley show. When the camera is off, she’s rude, demanding, bitches about everyone in the team, including members of the team that go above and beyond to make her business a success and make her happy…I could go on.

she contradicts herself constantly, making me feel like I’m going mad. I know if I died tmrw she wouldn’t care. She cares only about herself and her success. She’s not even nice about her husband, who is such a lovely guy.

I want to get out this company asap. It’s just difficult to know where to go and what to do next so in the meantime…has anyone else experienced similar?

I have lost all respect for this woman. She is awful and everyone that works for her knows it.

You’ve literally called all women horrible bitches, said that women aren’t nice to one another. If you’re treating women like they’re your natural enemy and branding them all bitches maybe it’s a you problem

Edited

I never once called all women horrible bitches.

So that's a total lie.

The OP said that she's being bullied by her female boss.

So are you saying in that instance, that it's the OPs fault ?

How come some get put on cool down for a few excited posts, but Kellybonita has managed to put around 30 argumentative posts on this thread?

Eastie77Returns · 24/04/2025 22:03

Our cleaning lady worked for Kate Garraway and Derek Draper before he became unwell. Since speaking ill of the dead is frowned on I won’t repeat the things she told me but she put up with some truly awful and disturbing behaviour.

I love these threads and find them really interesting BUT (as with the Status Quo example above!) I don't think working with or dealing with someone as a one off can give you a very good picture of what they're like as everyone has good and bad days.

The ones where they have been a live-in nanny / cook / PA etc obviously get a much better picture!

We've been watching the Joe and Stacey documentary (I know, I know!) and were saying the other night that I wonder what they are like to work for / with and whether they're as happy and bubbly as they come across!

DD served Stacey in a local restaurant some years ago and said she was lovely. Very down to earth. Then a couple of years ago, she saw her again in another restaurant when they were both customers. DD got a selfie with her, and again repeated how lovely she was. Mind you, DD has always been a big fan. I have to pre-order all Stacey's books from Amazon each time she brings out a new one, so that DD doesn't miss out.

Its so funny when peolle have such selective vision.

people have been arguing with me . It's been back and forth.

Yet you see me as the only one arguing.

Selective vision.

Lol what a diva!

Says the poster monopolising the thread 🙄

Aaaanyway!! ExH did some work for Michael Barrymore a long time ago. He was an absolute arsehole, apparently, though I’m sure none of you will be surprised to hear this!

Talking about Ed Sheeran (no I never met him) but reminds me of a black guy (actor? singer?) who was at a club and he emphasised that everyone in the club was black. He knew Ed Sheeran when he was no so well known. Ed Sheeran came on and played (I think) a ukelele and brought the house down!!!

Jamie Foxx I think. He was talking about on the chat show with the Irish host whose name has just gone completely out of my head!

Yeah it was Jamie Foxx.

The Irish host was Graham Norton.

I was a PA for a fairly well known producer, director and writer for a while until he died. He was quite generous, funny & personable but didn't suffer fools gladly. He would openly discuss his fetishes and those of other celebrities, quite shocking, also liked the old sniff! He was blunt about who was nice & who was a c*nt in showbiz.

Tell me more. I am intrigued now

Sounds exactly like a woman my friend did a favour for despite my friend being fairly well known herself. The woman my friend did a favour for is called Stacey!

No, I think some women can be bullies. It’s unfortunate that she’s encountered someone like that and totally unfair. You literally said

‘I think that most women I've met with and worked with are not nice. Most of them are competitive, selfish and nasty to other women. Especially to younger women.’

You are generalising about women in general, which is outrageous and not the experience of the majority of women. So no I’m not victim blaming, I believe that some women, like some men, can be bullies. But absolutely disagree with you suggesting that the majority of women are not nice and that women are not nice to one another

My brother worked for John Cleese. Said he was just as manic in real life as on screen. I think Cleese has quietened down now.

Mr Teasy Weasy?

Did you just make this up?

He was a household name in his day.

Hoppinggreen · 24/04/2025 22:27

I used to work for a company that provided Tax services and one product was a borderline dodgy way of avoiding tax and/or paying proper child support.
There were a few only way is Essex people using it for the tax avoidance (evasion really) which I thought was a bit shit but never mind
However, there was one male celeb who bragged about using it to avoid paying his wife what he should have. not naming him but he was on Strictly and cancelled for being a letch not too long ago. Odious man

I have heard a few things about Derek Draper as a younger man that make me wonder what sort of state his health was in before he contracted Covid.

Good friend worked at Windsor castle as a housekeeper. The senior Royals were absolutely brilliant but fair to say the new royal was an absolute diva !!

I've read a lot of things about Madonna. Apparently she's not nice to anyone.

In a book written about madonna, one woman described madonna as someone that uses people and then throws them away.

I once saw her described as " a drop of talent in an ocean of ambition" which I think is a bit harsh as she is an amazing dancer and has what appears to be a very strong work ethic and comes across as very focused.

Bob geldof is hardly going to be in a great mood when his ex wife, the mother of his children died a tragic death, and then his daughter Pixie geldof also died tragically. Is he?

Of course he's going to be grumpy.

I remember he said once that sometimes when he's out shopping, the grief can hit him so bad, that he runs out to have a cry.

Yes the world is full of people who's grief enables them to not have to wait or walk around people let alone pay full price for crap in charity shops...

Poor bob geldof

DP has worked for both marco Pierre white and Gordon Ramsay briefly years ago, he said they are exactly how you see them. He personally didn’t have any issues. He loved it and is one of his greatest experiences.

DP also did some extra work on the bill before we got together, said every one back then was lovely. Especially Graham Cole, he sees him at cons often, they always have a chat.

I knew someone in the press who met with Meghan a few weeks before she started dating Prince Harry.

She was absolutely desperate to be famous. Because she was very unknown in the UK (prior to Harry) the friend in the press didn’t want to bother meeting with her / writing an article about her but Meghan and her agent were relentlessly pushy as they wanted to get her profile up. She was desperate to land any man who would boost her profile / get her some attention and at the time she was messaging Ashley Cole.

I don’t doubt that this is all true as the friend told us this when her and Harry had only been together a few months, before everything went sour between her and the press.
