I am back on Mumsnet potentially briefly I was on here a lot from around 2009 to maybe 2012 when my children were small and i was deep in sleepless nights etc etc all seems a distant memory now mine are teens. I’ve flitted in and out very briefly over the years. But really I remember when this was all fields 😂.

Are there any long term posters still going? I had an accident so my memory isn’t that great but so far on my brief travels I am yet to see any familiar names on any threads.

id update you all on my car crash life but I seriously doubt anyone remembers me its been that long

I think i very vaguely remember penisbeaker uproar can someone please remind me? God this must be like chatting to someone with the start of dementia 😳. Equally its good to try to remember things well I think it must be anyway.

I cannot quite remember my advice but glad it helped. Mine is remarkably well all things considered but yes id only run now if life or death and its likely running would cause my death but thats partly my balance too 🙄

@mumofoneAlonebutokaybasically I have had a turbulent past with broken bones and accidents but in 2023 I managed to give myself a traumatic brain injury! I was fetching my horse in from the field rushing as late for farrier, I do not remember the accident but basically i made a very silly schoolboy error of popping on my horse to ride in as quicker with no hat on.

I was found struggling to breathe and unconscious I believe I was woken briefly by the air ambulance ( I don’t remember that at all) they I think either sedated me or put me into a medically induced coma. I think I was in a coma for a week then hospital left me unattended shortly after i was moved closer to home (I was like a child) I fell from the bed and acquired a third brain bleed on the other side of my brain, not ideal. I then had post traumatic amnesia for I think bang on 3 weeks i have slight memories of this time they feel like very drunk memories. I was completely gaga, thought I had had a baby, was at butlins, in prison etc all memories i have feel like when you’re very drunk and have no inhibitions. I was then in a brain rehab place for a few weeks then came home. Husband decided that was best time to say catch ya later and left! Anyway sorry I’ve garbled on and on and you genuinely didn’t ask for my life story!!!

Bloody hell! You have been through the mill!

Been on here regularly since 2002 - but many name changes.

saltwater1985 · 22/04/2025 23:49

I’ve been here since 2005, when I had DC1 and no smartphone, mn was on my laptop!
loads of name changes. I just lurk and chop in every now and again to threads.

Fucking hell Woman! That’s a rough time! (I originally wrote rough ride but that sounded a lot meaner then I meant 😂)

We were around at the same time way back when (I was MilkNoSugar back then!)

MN is fucking chaos these days mate

MilkNoSugar i remember you 😊
I have changed my name so many times but we had a few supportive interactions 😊

Awww i like a reminiscence thread !

I swapped boxing day gifts with CatThiefKeith

I remember Vicar, FabbyChic, Xenia …

My difficulties in life are so different now. Back then it was premature babies and their allergies. Now it’s affording university accommodation and supporting poorly parents whilst having a deeply stressful and unsupportive NHS job 😞

stayathomer · 22/04/2025 23:52

I’ve been around since 2009, have only namechanged once, because I got absolutely jumped on when I did my first post (worded it wrong!) and was terrified! Hope you’re ok op x

jocktamsonsbairn · 22/04/2025 23:54

I’ve been around through various name changes since about 2004-5. I remember your story. Good to see you back.

Ohyoudodoyou · 22/04/2025 23:54

I can’t sleep now and trying to remember the old names, but I seldom end commented then:
Scottish mummy
cod
gerrofmyland
cupcakesandbunting
riven
trinityrhino
solidgoldbrass
laqueen
loads more will come but these ones stand out for various reasons.
the humour was great back then, genuinely funny and original, and very supportive. I think it’s when we all had little kids, less dependency on using the interment for absolutely everything and so Mumsnet was unique, and we probably out the kids to bed, poured a glass or two of wine and this was our nightly community.

Mumblechum0 · 22/04/2025 23:56

I’ve been here for 20 years, never really name changed.

Xenia’s still around, she popped up a few days ago.

haven’t seen Vicar in a Tutu, Princess Peahead, Countess, Judge Flounce et al for many many years.

I don’t recognise anyone now, I liked it when it was small and intimate but hey ho!

Mumblechum0 · 22/04/2025 23:57

Oh yes Cod was the queen. She was actually very kind to me offline.

EarlsAllsort · 22/04/2025 23:59

I’ve been here since around 2004/5 with about a thousand name changes. How I miss the darked on spider willy threads.

Mumblechum0 · 22/04/2025 23:59

Was SolidGold the one who was some sort of sexpert, into polyamory? (Apologies if not!)

D0g · 23/04/2025 00:02

@Mumblechum0 I definitely remember you nothing specific annoyingly but things are coming back to me. The humour was great wasn’t it? I think I got a lot of adult interaction help and support that really helped me with my circus of kids

cod was brilliant but also absolutely terrified me 😂.

Oh yes vicarinatutu! BonsoirAnna popped in my head too.

madeoftoast · 23/04/2025 00:05

I’ve been around since 2001 when pg with my first dc. Dipped in and out over the years and changed names a few times.

Remember cod and a few other fish names - not sure If the same person tbh.

I think she was, she was quite open and interesting if I recall.
another name I recall, the second
mrs de winter. I’d love to know how all these other original mumsnetters are doing. I remember the scorn everyone held for Netmums some weren’t allowed
to offer hugs or call people ‘hun’!😆

Lifeissodifficult · 23/04/2025 00:07

gosh yes ScottishMummy, Cupcakes and LaQueen.

I seem to remember that Vicar left under a cloud …

Yes, I think so though I remember her more from her rather robust contributions on the philosophy and religion board.

riven and trinity were pretty special. I hope they’re doing well nowadays.

There was a lot of banning and flouncing but because there were less of us then we knew what was happening and to whom, it was very entertaining!

D0g · 23/04/2025 00:09

oh my god! NetMum huns possibly where my sheer hatred for hun’isms came from. There was serious beef and infiltrating attempts on both side iirc

The NM v MN rivalry was legendary.

There were proper strong characters on the board then with robust views so lots of posters were quite distinctive. I loved it back then I’d definitely found my tribe…and when they introduced the little
wine emoji with a slice of cake or a biscuit, halcyon days!

Ohyoudodoyou · 23/04/2025 00:15

Bumsex on a Friday night.
demanding military precision parking drawings.
LTB.
’did you mean to be so rude?’
great gifts from Mumsnet.

LoafofSellotape · 23/04/2025 00:18

I think I joined on 2006 or there abouts. Nice to see so many familiar names again. Used to be a much smaller community, didn't it? 😊

I actually think it was a lot swearier then, one of my most memorable threads when I first started was reading about a woman whose husband had an affair and she named them, I think they were Julian and Angela or something and as I was new, I was really laughing when someone did a name change in sympathy with this woman and the name change was ‘JulianandAngelaarecunts’ - I’d never seen anything like that and I loved it from that moment on.

D0g · 23/04/2025 00:19

LTB is politer version of my rl advice to anyone but myself 🤦‍♀️
