Are there any old school Mumsnetter’s still around

I am back on Mumsnet potentially briefly I was on here a lot from around 2009 to maybe 2012 when my children were small and i was deep in sleepless nights etc etc all seems a distant memory now mine are teens. I’ve flitted in and out very briefly over the years. But really I remember when this was all fields 😂.

Are there any long term posters still going? I had an accident so my memory isn’t that great but so far on my brief travels I am yet to see any familiar names on any threads.

I think i very vaguely remember penisbeaker uproar can someone please remind me? God this must be like chatting to someone with the start of dementia 😳. Equally its good to try to remember things well I think it must be anyway.

I cannot quite remember my advice but glad it helped. Mine is remarkably well all things considered but yes id only run now if life or death and its likely running would cause my death but thats partly my balance too 🙄

Been on here regularly since 2002 - but many name changes.

I’ve been here since 2005, when I had DC1 and no smartphone, mn was on my laptop!
loads of name changes. I just lurk and chop in every now and again to threads.

My difficulties in life are so different now. Back then it was premature babies and their allergies. Now it’s affording university accommodation and supporting poorly parents whilst having a deeply stressful and unsupportive NHS job 😞

I’ve been around since 2009, have only namechanged once, because I got absolutely jumped on when I did my first post (worded it wrong!) and was terrified! Hope you’re ok op x

I’ve been around through various name changes since about 2004-5. I remember your story. Good to see you back.

I can’t sleep now and trying to remember the old names, but I seldom end commented then:

loads more will come but these ones stand out for various reasons.
the humour was great back then, genuinely funny and original, and very supportive. I think it’s when we all had little kids, less dependency on using the interment for absolutely everything and so Mumsnet was unique, and we probably out the kids to bed, poured a glass or two of wine and this was our nightly community.

I’ve been here for 20 years, never really name changed.

Xenia’s still around, she popped up a few days ago.

haven’t seen Vicar in a Tutu, Princess Peahead, Countess, Judge Flounce et al for many many years.

I don’t recognise anyone now, I liked it when it was small and intimate but hey ho!

Oh yes Cod was the queen. She was actually very kind to me offline.

@Mumblechum0 I definitely remember you nothing specific annoyingly but things are coming back to me. The humour was great wasn’t it? I think I got a lot of adult interaction help and support that really helped me with my circus of kids

riven and trinity were pretty special. I hope they’re doing well nowadays.

There was a lot of banning and flouncing but because there were less of us then we knew what was happening and to whom, it was very entertaining!

oh my god! NetMum huns possibly where my sheer hatred for hun’isms came from. There was serious beef and infiltrating attempts on both side iirc

The NM v MN rivalry was legendary.
We were the ones that were allowed to swear without getting censored.

There were proper strong characters on the board then with robust views so lots of posters were quite distinctive. I loved it back then I’d definitely found my tribe…and when they introduced the little
wine emoji with a slice of cake or a biscuit, halcyon days!

I think I joined on 2006 or there abouts. Nice to see so many familiar names again. Used to be a much smaller community,didn't it? 😊

I actually think it was a lot swearier then, one of my most memorable threads when I first started was reading about a woman whose husband had an affair and she named them, I think they were Julian and Angela or something and as I was new, I was really laughing when someone did a name change in sympathy with this woman and the name change was ‘JulianandAngelaarecunts’ - I’d never seen anything like that and I loved it from that moment on.
