How have you been affected by the Tran's community?

As there are so many posts on here that discuss Transgenderism, has anyone been directly affected by the Tran's community, good or bad?
I'm quite young and only know one Tran's gender person, as far as I'm aware.

You get a gold star from me but minus a thousand virtue points.

I can live with that.

And yes, the lack of answer is telling.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 19/04/2025 00:34

You’re expecting everyone to bow down before the notion of “transitioning”. Yet you can’t explain it?

The fact that you're spoiling for a rumble has been noted. Sorry I'm not going to oblige you. You'll have to find someone else to have a pop at.

Notashamed13 · 19/04/2025 00:35

A national "female" sports event..... I'm saying no more as seriously outing.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 19/04/2025 00:36

“I’d prefer women and people who’ve transitioned to be a woman to be in the toilet” - meaning what?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 19/04/2025 00:37

I’m not spoiling for any rumbles, I’m not that interested in anything you have to say. Just showing up your complete lack of any coherent argument 😊

I'm not getting into a row with you so give it up.

I appreciate that you want to spend your time attacking other women, but I won't be taking the bait. It's a weird hobby of yours but you'll have to find someone else. I'm not interested in discussing this with you.

"You do realise that by your logic actual men, not women identifying as men, can just come in as themselves claiming to have “transitioned”, which means precisely nothing, don’t you?"

I will say that this is precisely my point. Men have practically been invited into the women's toilets now.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 19/04/2025 00:42

Men haven’t. Women who identify as men have. Most of them aren’t particularly convincing as men.

I agree that trans men should be using the men's toilet. What worries me is how often I've read recently that they should be in the women's toilets. Which means men can now comfortably come into the toilet just as they are.

That doesn't make me feel safe at all.

I think you've got to be realistic about what has actually changed. Bad actors have always been physically able to enter women's toilets and do whatever they like until/unless challenged. That's a sad reality.

But we've had a weird little blip during which in some situations, some people have felt unable to call bad behaviour out, if the man in question is dressed like a woman. And that hopefully, will be less of a thing now.

Though in theory you could have a man dressed like a man, enter the women's toilets and falsely claim he is compelled to enter as a trans man, for nefarious purposes - couldn't the same man do the same thing as of before this SC ruling and simply say he was a (trans) woman? Would you really feel more comfortable if this badly intentioned man were wearing a dress? Actually few men can try to pass as a trans man but any man can become a trans woman any time for any reason. He's going to do what he's going to do. But I think overall the SC ruling is going to enable people to call this sort of thing out much more. That's just my take. It's a shame for trans people who just want to use the bathroom, I can understand that.

HangTheDJHangTheDJHangTheDJ · 19/04/2025 00:43

And yet again, I've still not had any issues with trans people but I have had women being rude to me. It's ridiculous.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 19/04/2025 00:45

I wasn’t any ruder than you are. I asked a simple question, which you won’t or can’t answer.

I would feel more comfortable if people who looked like men didn't now have carte blanche to use the women's toilets.

Now any drunken idiot can just come in on a whim.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 19/04/2025 00:46

Despite it apparently being the cornerstone of your position on women only spaces.

murasaki · 19/04/2025 00:48

If you can't articulate your position you have no position.

You can't explain transition in any meaningful way as my explanation is the only one that holds any water.

But if you can convince me otherwise, do say.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 19/04/2025 00:49

Anyway, what you feel about women only spaces is up to you. And what I feel is up to me. I’m not bound by your criteria of what a “transitioned” person is. I just want people to stop telling actual men they are welcome in female spaces. They are not.

@HangTheDJHangTheDJHangTheDJ

I disagree. Drunken idiot men are currently and have always been able to enter women's toilets and not be reasoned with. That hasn't changed.

But before this judgement any man has had the option to say that he is a woman, which lacking any clear definition, can't be challenged by anyone without some fear of repercussion. For some men acting as a woman may be part of a paraphilic reason they wish to enter the women's bathroom in the first place. Whereas now, this at least paves the way to say categorically that that behaviour is wrong. I don't think we're going to see an epidemic of men using a false transman identity to enter women's bathrooms nefariously. Any man motivated to enter women's bathrooms nefariously currently has carte blanche, he only has to become a woman.

Also, ironically, to pretend to be a transman you actually have to pass as a woman, whereas to be a trans woman, you don't. This is very difficult for the vast majority of men.

Besides which - why are we only discussing strangers in public bathrooms. Your male colleague or teammate (or rival teammate) now (or soon) cannot come into a female space because of a claim, that everyone knows not to be true, that they are a woman. And they still can't do it as man. That's an improvement for women's safe spaces.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 19/04/2025 00:54

Sabire9 · 18/04/2025 23:44

"The second difference is that noone is calling for trans identified men to be deported, or to have fewer rights than any other type of man. Only that they do not have the exact same sex based rights and protections as women, because they are not women."

No - you just want them criminalise for using women's facilities.

BTW - if a trans woman 'passes' and is on the receiving end of sexual harassment and discrimination from someone who assumes she's a biological woman, you don't think she's deserving of the same protections as a female? Is that because you think by being transgender she's 'bringing it on herself' and could have opted out of being harassed by just choosing not to be transgender?

In the vanishingly rare circumstances where someone genuinely mistakes a man for a woman and discriminates against or harasses him on that basis he is already protected by the Equality Act under discrimination by perception. I don’t think that should change.

LimeQuoter · 19/04/2025 00:57

Knew someone when I was in college who was transgender. Not very well though, nice person. More interested in meeting up with other trans people and campaigning for transgenderism than hanging out too much, which is fair enough

I am sorry you feel that way, but it doesn't seem rational. You haven't made a convincing rational argument so my opinion hasn't changed.
