@SerendipityJane I use AI a lot, but it's important to check the answers and modify your question if necessary. The latest version of ChatGPT allows you to choose which response you prefer. Deepseek, is stuck in up to June 2024 answers.

I really like how ChatGpt can organise info in a very similar way to how I think.

Never once have I said "AI" is without utility. But intelligent it ain't. Nor will it ever be.

Llttledrummergirls · 02/05/2025 14:52

When you look at the insidious way information creeps in. Why has the BBC constantly had rolling numbers of the council results, when the area reform have targeted and were expected to win big in were coming through, with constant chat about how amazing bigliest win bullshit chat about it, yet when the vast majority that aren't expected to be reform start coming through, they drop the numbers? Hmm

Yes, for a second I thought I'd tuned into GB News, what with all the gushing adjectives being used to describe Reform's wins!

I wondered is it simply the case that the councils favouring reform happen to be called earlier? Looks like the Lib Dem’s are doing OK too (though clearly this is Reform’s day whether I like it or not).

Yes, the BBC are shocking ATM. What happened to impartiality and investigative journalism, so much coverage of Reform and it is completely irresponsible. I was listening to Americast on I player but it is the same, so intent on being balanced it ends up sounding like a justification of Trump's actions. I was speaking with friends and family about this who were the Radio 4 demographic, champions of the BBC but they are switching off, finding alternatives.

I used to absolutely love Radio 4. Had it on in constantly when I was in the kitchen, the car, etc. But I walked away over their coverage of Brexit and haven't gone back. They were so 'even-handed' they treated the most bald-faced, bad-faith lies as if they deserved credence.

Yes, Lib Dems appear to be doing well but that's not given much air time, ironic really as if, God forbid, Reform (can't believe I'm uttering these words) were to win the next election and form a government, they would be quick to scrap the BBC licence fee!

I do still listen to radio 4 but when they are falling over themselves to accommodate these extreme views and worse, do not challenge them, It is very frustrating and I just switch it off. I find Any Answers very funny though.

I’m exactly the same, @Wallaw, for about 60 years, certainly most of my adulthood, Radio 4 was the soundtrack of my life. Since late 2016, I’ve stopped listening to it, even to my beloved Archers, which I used to follow from wherever I was in the world, but they have got irritatingly worse in the last decade, anyway!
Audible and podcasts are my friends now.

I trust the word of Simon Marks, LBC America correspondent. Although I fear he'll have to tone down his bewildered and exasperated commentary on Bigly's latest Tremendous doings. I wouldn't like to lose his observations if US kicks him out. Can hardly believe I'm writing about the possibility of a journalist being censored for not slavishly bowing down to a politician. In America, Land of the Free.

I think it was on The Infinite Monkey Cage that a guest quoted another scientist who said, when asked to describe “Artificial Intelligence” said “A poor choice of words in the 1960s”.

The 8th May has been marked as VE Day since before Trump was born. VE stands for Victory in Europe.
As for the First World War, the idea that some Yank who refused to serve in the military, will command people around the world not to call it Rembrance Day is laughable. Sod off.

I would have thought that it was a proposition self evident that in order to create an artificial construct you need a clear unambiguous definition of the natural.

No matter how you slice, dice, cut, paste or press release the facts, you can't actually achieve that first step.

@DuncinToffee I wish there was an angry emoji for that orange fool and his disgraceful insult to the all the brave military personnel from many nations who gave us Victory In Europe

Later this month, Canada will have the privilege of welcoming Their Majesties The King and Queen to Canada — where His Majesty King Charles III will deliver Canada’s speech from the throne.

This historic honour matches the weight of our times.

I absolutely apologize from the bottom of my heart for that disgusting shit, even though I'm not responsible for the diarrhea that spouts from his mouth and his fingers.

The notion that 'the US won the war(s)' disrespects the countries who fought longer than we did, harder than we did, and lost so many more brave men and women both military and civilian and who suffered such destruction to their countries is anathema to me.

Those countries kept the US safe from invasion by fighting hard enough that it kept the wars from spreading across the seas to US shores. I am eternally grateful. And post war, the remaining citizenry many of the Allied countries suffered rationing and deprivation for years whilst the US in the 50s & 60s was safe and 'prosperous'. We were so lucky.

And I think that the Soviet Union played a massive role in WW2 and lost a lot of people.

PerkingFaintly · 02/05/2025 18:41

Oh goodness, please don't feel the least bit responsible for what that oaf ways, @AcrossthePond55 .

And you know, we are grateful for US intervention in the world wars, even though it wasn't 100% altruistic.

We're very grateful the US threw in its interest with a free Europe rather than with the Nazi Reich – and that despite there being a body of Nazi-supporters in the US.

PerkingFaintly · 02/05/2025 18:42

The Soviet Union suffered horribly in WW2. After first trusting Hitler's empty promises.

JoshLymanSwagger · 02/05/2025 18:48

What "Victory days" will he suggest for Vietnam, Korea or Afghanistan?

Is one of the side effects of fake tan on your face that you lose your one remaining marble?
