What are you spending your Nationwide £50 on?

Those of you who like me have got a free £50 from Nationwide and are fortunate enough to be able to spend it on something frivolous, what are you thinking of spending it on? I’m torn. Possibly perfume. Or something from the folio society. Or jewellery. Or cheese.

@TheBuffetInspector might go crazy and renew my railcard!

Steady on! Actually I need a rail card as shall be travelling from Midlands to Scotland soon(ish). It will make sense.
I also needed jeans though. More. 🤣

Galaxybisc · 15/04/2025 23:06

itll probably just get spent on something boring like the shopping

ConsuelaHammock · 15/04/2025 23:06

Save it ? Don’t spend it for the sake of it.

I struggle with jeans due to big bum and hips. I've always favoured the skinny with stretch! Hey... Need to move with the times though 🤣 They gave me a choice of 2 leg lengths. Bamboozled!
I can only update tomorrow...

I bet they turn about 7.30pm after a day of oooh is that the door? I'm a saddo 🤣🤣

I’ll be fully waiting on an update and keeping everything crossed for you. 😁 Ordering online is such a minefield but my town has basically one clothes shop left (and then stuff like supermarkets with clothes or the back of our Poundland) so not much choice for me if I want anything to fit.

HundredPercentUnsure · 15/04/2025 23:09

A haircut. I hadn't had my hair cut in a whole year, I think? Not a penny of change.

We must live in a similar area. I know our New Look has gone, so if they need going back it'll mean posting 🙄 post offices have gone, local shop stopped doing Evri.
I mean don't get me wrong, it really is rubbish 😂
I couldn't tell you how our local team are doing!
Well... I shall update tomorrow. Something to look forward to!!

I haven't had my hair cut for 8 years! I have hairdresser phobia.

I have scissors, I have clippers. Hair grips.
I don't mind the wacky look. Thankfully.

Are having a style change? Anything special? Although you're probably lucky to get it washed and styled for £50 these days? It was £42 when I last went.
Book you in for 6 weeks? splutter

Enjoy though, be pampered.

I can't save. I always need something. Or a treat once in a while makes a huge difference.

It was just a wash, cut and blow dry. Not a total restyle but more like the returning of previous styling. They asked if I wanted a head massage while having my hair washed - absolutely yes! Definitely felt like a pampering, I took my book along, had a hot cup of tea...and left the young kids at home with DH. ☺️

Oh bless you. I'm so glad my kids are grown up because what struck me there was a hot cup of tea. That takes me back!
I'm glad you had a lovely pampering.

I'm going round some posh charity shops whilst on a break in Bath on Friday, so I intend to spend it then!

Yes, and freshly hot. Not even microwaved 😆
