At a farm café... naturally. And daughter is on special diet, so she was eating her packed lunch. And she went to eat her apple ...I found my self saying "oh darling, let me wash your apple, it's got brioche crumbs all over it"

What a dick I am 🤣

OP posts:

What's the brag?

She's got access to apples

Iwanttoshopnow · 05/04/2025 20:37

How many new words of at least 3 letters can you make from 'brioche'

They have to be middle class words.

BarneyRonson · 05/04/2025 20:37

iwentjasonwaterfalls · 05/04/2025 20:33

Oh so you're allowed to do that but when I whip out my cheesestring at the Savoy I'm "not giving the right impression" 😏 that's unfair that is

Last time I whipped out my cheese string DH ended up in ER.

I fully sympathise and I know exactly what you mean. It’s bullying and mean and I don’t think it should be invisible as it’s unfair and causes distress. My daughter at junior school liked a flask of green tea with her packed lunch and was mocked by the staff. It really isn’t ok to be fine with dairylea and bullying about green tea etc. it’s toxic classism and it’s being colluded with all over the place.

OP was laughing at herself. The day posh becomes a protected characteristic is the day I stop laughing at myself for saying posh things that make me chuckle. Laughing at yourself is what this thread was supposed to be about but it got hijacked by the humour bypass brigade.

Well yes the thread title gives the wankery away.

And I’m agreeing!

I LOVE the idea of posh as a protected characteristic. Imagine the Shenanigans that would ensue

OP I love your sense of humour! I often catch myself doing similar and having the sense of humour to laugh at yourself is so vital! X

It is. Kids being bullied is not what this thread is about and maybe they can make their own thread about that or something.

I thought they'd say "me old bamboo" and stuff like that

Dappy777 · 05/04/2025 20:43

The most toe-curling thing I ever heard was a woman on a train who (very loudly) asked her nine year old "Sebastian, who were you saying was your favourite composer?...Was it Beethoven or Bach?"

Still, I think I prefer pretentious middle class twats to the people I watched eating in my local buffet last night. The adults were obese, held their knives and forks like toddlers, ate with their mouths open, smacked their (often inflated) lips together, talked with their mouths full, and screamed at their kids (often spitting food as they did so). It was awful. Frankly, a bunch of medieval peasants in a mud hut probably had better manners.

I have never been able to make up my mind what is worse.
