I just peaked at middle class wankerism

At a farm café... naturally. And daughter is on special diet, so she was eating her packed lunch. And she went to eat her apple ...I found my self saying "oh darling, let me wash your apple, it's got brioche crumbs all over it"

What a dick I am 🤣

I kind of feel for the op. This clearly isn't someone raised with money. They had a very special moment, sat there with their daughter, willing time to advance so they could go home to declare" I am middle class on mumsnet" Maybe there's also a Facebook post

It must be satire i think it's satire. Or an American class in England really isn't about money. You've not met piss poor landed gentry ovy.

Not necessarily, you can be middle class and not be a wanker, I think her point was she had descended into middle class wankerdom

Mumble12 · 09/04/2025 11:45

This is the weirdest thread I've ever seen. And I've seen a few. The OP was having a lighthearted dig at herself for saying something that she thought sounded a bit like something she didn't think she'd catch herself saying. As someone earlier said, its just like hearing you saying something your mum would say. If you don't think its funny, don't comment. Breaking your neck to find offense is mad!

This is wonderfully deranged

Iwantmyoldnameback · 09/04/2025 13:13

I don't think the OP declared her class, just that she sounded like a MC wanker. I can't believe all the angst being expressed on here.

I feel for the posters on here who have no sense of humour. Everyone else is just having a bit of a laugh.

Probably by MC wankers, hitting a nerve perhaps 😁

Well... If it helps, same DD just corrected a waitress who said " enjoy your chicken nuggets" with "thank you, but actually, they're goujons"

I'm a teacher and what a child has in their lunch box is generally an indicator of socio-economic group. Poorer children have more cheap carby stuff, and those mini brioche finger things that Aldi/Lidl/Home bargains do are very common. Definitely not something I associate as being MC, unless a child whipped out a cheese board with the brioche loaf.
