Had a surgery about a week ago and been struggling to sleep since then it just messed up my sleep schedule, so I’m awake thinking what I would do to get my hands on and m and s sherbet sweets 😭 been craving them for weeks but can’t get them where I live

Going over and over childcare options for my daughter.
Do I stick with current provider who have given a couple of red flags during first week? (Husband doesn't see them the same as me)
Do we find somewhere else? Can we afford a nanny for 1-2-1 care?

Trying to distract by offering infant feeding advice on here as I can't solve my own problem at least I could try to help someone else!

Will I regret it when baby wakes at 6am? Yes 😂🤦🏻‍♀️

Hope your cough gets better soon! That is the worst during the night!!

BetteDavisChin · 04/04/2025 02:03

The decorator has painted a whole room in a bilious green. I chose the colour because I wanted something bright, but it looks 🤢
It's my mum's kitchen (annexe in our house), she chose a calmer green, but the shop didn't have it, so I had to choose an alternative on the spot.
I'm embarrassed to ask the decorator to paint over it and anxious about my mum's reaction when she sees it, so lying awake fretting.

What were the red flags? Mine always went to child minders rather than nurseries!

Awful hayfever with swollen itchy eyes and feels like someone has put my head in a vice. I'm already on max dose meds so have nowhere to go with it.

LillyPJ · 04/04/2025 02:12

Had some terrible news yesterday and just can't seem to process it. I'm thinking maybe tea and toast will help me.

Yoursselfmysselfandotherss · 04/04/2025 02:12

My DH died very unexpectedly just before Christmas. I’m really struggling at present. I feel overwhelmed with grief and I’m panicking with all the practical things he did and was so good at.

Baby was crying on arrival, they took her from my arms and walked off with her. Broke my heart 😭
I have always settled her and said goodbye so felt completely unnatural and against my instinct.
Wouldn't let me in to breastfeed her during the day. Researched into a local childminder who has also said the same?!
Seems baffling to me and surely can't be the norm?

Being a parent throws up so many challenges you never anticipated!!
(Like being the one awake all night 😂)

So sorry for your loss. This must be incredibly difficult, do you have anyone around you that you can lean on or ask for advice?
Alternatively are their any grief charities that offer this kind of support?
Sending warm wishes to you.

Been offered a new role but 90% sure it isn't right. Trying to determine if I should accept or not

Thanks - that's a kind thought. But I don't feel able to right now. It's about a family member, not me, so it's not really my story to tell. It's just so awful and unexpected that I don't know how to react or what will happen next. Life throws up all sorts of weird surprises, doesn't it?

Teenagerantruns · 04/04/2025 02:20

Finished work at 10pm, really should be in bed now but I'm.eating hummus and pitta and browsing the whole Internet..start work again in 8 hours...

Thank you! I feel like everyone thinks I'm overreacting and being difficult.
To me I can't unsee that they don't support breastfeeding which is something incredibly important to me and my baby!

Had utility remodelled and fridge doesn’t quite fit. Wondering if I can get rid of the washing machine side panel without compromising the worktop.

So sorry to the PPs bereaved or processing awful news.

Thank you. My family have been brilliant but they have busy lives with work and everything. I hate having to ask anyone to help me, I don’t want to be a burden to anyone. I’ve managed to sort a lot of practical stuff out but it feels like it’s never ending. My DH was so good at practical things. If anything broke, he was happy because he loved fixing things. On the other hand, I just get stressed.

I’m exhausted as well. Poor sleep and low ferritin are to blame. The iron tablets are upsetting my stomach.

I just read that you were eating humans. It’s made me laugh. 😂
