Thank you. My family have been brilliant but they have busy lives with work and everything. I hate having to ask anyone to help me, I don’t want to be a burden to anyone. I’ve managed to sort a lot of practical stuff out but it feels like it’s never ending. My DH was so good at practical things. If anything broke, he was happy because he loved fixing things. On the other hand, I just get stressed.

I’m exhausted as well. Poor sleep and low ferritin are to blame. The iron tablets are upsetting my stomach.

I'm sure you're not at all a burden. It can be difficult but how would you feel if the situation was reversed?
I often do this when I'm struggling or worried (I'm an anxious gal and my brain likes to be negative!) more often than not I end up thinking of a different outcome.

Imagine the conversation you'd have with a dear friend if they asked or felt what you do? I'm sure you wouldn't turn them away or dismiss their feelings.

Likelihood is that your support network would treat you the same as you'd treat them.
It's difficult asking for help for sure, but we are all only human 💛

Iron deficiency tiredness is next level! Especially when you're in a situation where you can't sleep.
Can recommend meditation (for sleep) and diet based changes as well as medication (for low iron).

Been offered a new role but 90% sure it isn't right. Trying to determine if I should accept or not

Same! It’s a 50% pay rise but I’m currently WFH full time and have total flexibility about when I do my work… I also love my job, but no progression where I am currently. Literally flip flopping every 5
min on whether to take it or not.

Off work ill and out of routine although tbh I always struggle to sleep until about 3:30 it's a bugger getting up when I am in work, so enjoying the fact I don't have to worry tonight

Dog woke me to go out for a poo now can’t get back to sleep, whereas she’s snoring away

Same reason I am awake!

Awful hayfever with swollen itchy eyes and feels like someone has put my head in a vice. I'm already on max dose meds so have nowhere to go with it.

This is keeping me awake too! It's been relentless this week!

MonkeyPuddle · 04/04/2025 03:40

I’m at work. Well, I’m on my break anyway.

Natsku · 04/04/2025 03:48

I woke up at 2, after falling asleep close to 11, and couldn't get back to sleep. But I've had 3 cups of tea and a cold shower now so I will go into work super early, finish what I need to do, and then come home early and rest.

DoloresDelEriba · 04/04/2025 03:52

My lovely dog gets me up at 3am. She is almost 15 so I don’t mind. I won’t have her for much longer so willing to put up with it. Love to everyone else awake x

Springhassprungxx · 04/04/2025 03:59

Some money has gone missing at work and l can't think where it could be

Daisysmummyf · 04/04/2025 04:02

Fell asleep early at 10, woke up at 2,30 wide awake and brain won’t switch back off now. Been reading Mumsnet for an hour and a half but husbands alarm will be going off in an hour and really need to go back to sleep!! He’s snoring and the dogs keep trying to lie on me.

TheBuffetInspector · 04/04/2025 04:06

I'm losing blood at stupid rate. 6 months... Was only ever given provera for 10 days. Finally they've given me 30days worth which will, fingers crossed see me up to the specialist and hysterectomy.

It hasn't kicked in yet.

All I can do is sit and antagonise people it seems 🤣

Shitmonger · 04/04/2025 04:13

I’m on a work trip in a US city that has been impacted by the storms and they’re starting up again now. Last night at 2am I was jolted awake by the most ungodly storm. The wind and thunder and lightning were unreal. I’ve never experienced thunder so loud that it rattled my chest; I swear I could feel it in my lungs. It was wild. And then a tornado warning was issued.

Needless to say I’m not eager to go to bed now that they’re starting again. 😬

DrDisrespect · 04/04/2025 04:24

My cat wanted breakfast 🤦‍♀️

TooOldForThisShit1 · 04/04/2025 04:29

DD6 collided with another child at school yesterday, 2 big bruises on her head and broken glasses 🤦‍♀️
she woke up at 3am crying saying she had a headache, then proceeded to vomit everywhere

we live 2 minutes from A&E so took her up, Dr saw us really quickly, said she was absolutely fine and offered to give her anti sickness medicine 😳

to be fair she does seem fine now but I thought it best to get it checked out

so now I’m laying on the sofa with the dog, who just can’t seem to get comfortable (and doesn’t mind telling me about it) DD is drawing a picture and is firing off all sorts of questions and shows no signs of going back to sleep 😴

Three year old woke up at 3am upset so I brought her into bed with me. She’s alternating between dozing and pushing her feet up against my spine. I need the loo but if I get up she’ll be confused, burst into tears and run after me meaning there’s no chance she’ll go back to sleep for the last hour of the night. If I’m going to be awake I want a cup of tea and some toast and to sit outside in the garden and watch the morning arrive. But am stuck in bed in a grump instead.

Bagpuss2022 · 04/04/2025 05:29
