I've just had the nastiest April fool whatsoever

Friend is on here but I'm sure she can cope with me being 'public'. And hello, my darling!

But phone went off middle of the night telling me childhood friend had died. Turns out this is nonsense. Isn't that a really cruel thing to do to someone? I was throwing up. I'm not sure what I'd gain from posting here just a bit of feather soothing and 'relax'. I don't want anyone to say they deserve a kicking I just think that was a horrible thing to do

That was a malicious message, it was NOT a joke. Your so called friend needs to ‘grow up’.

Goart · 01/04/2025 14:06

That’s not an April fools joke/prank.

That is the action of a straight up fucking weirdo with something the matter with them. Someone properly sick in the head.

UpUpUpU · 01/04/2025 14:06

I think this thread is a very sick April fool.

Oioisavaloy27 · 01/04/2025 14:08

This just does not make sense at all, so your friend is on here, they sent you a horrific message saying your friend was dead, why did you not just telephone the person up and tell them what a nasty thing that was to do? Instead you are saying hello to this person your post? All very strange!

FairKoala · 01/04/2025 14:11

That isn’t even a joke

It had crossed my mind.

I'm inclined to agree relatively new user

mylittlekomododragon · 01/04/2025 14:24

The person who pulled that stunt would be dead to me.

Hmmm, yeah. And a plopper too. (Just posts the first post and doesn't come back.)

Dagnabit · 01/04/2025 14:27

That’s horrible and not really in the spirit! I’m not a fan of it but they are supposed to be lighthearted pranks.

Hdjdb42 · 01/04/2025 14:33

That's horrible and nasty. That person went too far.

REP22 · 01/04/2025 14:36

You're not wrong. This wasn't an April Fool, this was a malicious and cruel thing to do.

Someone pulled this sort of thing with an older relative once and it prompted an angina attack with very real consequences.

Anything to do with death or dismemberment is not funny.

Some people don't understand that there are limits to what it acceptable as a joke or prank. Death is one of those areas where you just don't go! Giving someone a very unpleasant shock, particularly in the middle of the night (disturbing their sleep for no reason and catching them at their weakest moment) is just a nasty thing to do. I'd make my displeasure felt in the hope that they'd never try something so stupid again.

HarperStern · 01/04/2025 14:47

Where's the OP gone?

SofaFromRomania · 01/04/2025 14:49

The thread itself might well be the April Fool.

JustWalkingTheDogs · 01/04/2025 14:51

What a completely awful ‘April Fools’

lifeonmars100 · 01/04/2025 14:51

What a hideous thing to do, who would derive amusement from that other than someone with a deeply unpleasant personality. I find "jokes" that are aimed at causing discomfort, distress and confusion to the person they are aimed at cruel and hurtful. Not on the same level as this horror, I had one played on me years ago at work. My manager and a co-worker ran in and told me that an enormous stationery order had arrived, and that I must have done it in error as ordering stationery was part of my role. They said that at least 20 enormous boxes had been delivered to reception and did I have no recollection of when I did it? I ran down to reception protesting my innocence and non-involvement while they howled with laughter. Just so unfunny and unpleasant

I was about to say the same!

blandwich · 01/04/2025 14:52

If this thread is an April Fool's 'joke', it's rather a dull excuse for one. People fabricate stories online every day. If something's meant to be a joke, it really ought to be at least mildly amusing.

BatchCookBabe · 01/04/2025 14:25

I'm here just have no update. I have tried to contact friends but have no further information. I don't mean to go 'missing' I shouldn't have slept a lot of today

How cruel. To even think of doing that to anyone is really warped.. but a friend, that is sick
