let Me preface this by saying that of course I have no insight into her personal medical condition but my 12 years as an ICU charge nurse tells me this makes no sense. Yes people go into acute renal failure when critically ill however they absolutely would be able to have dialysis until such times that their kidney function improves or if it doesn’t improve they stay on dialysis until they get a transplant (especially a seemingly young healthy women). Of course there are some outliers that are so unwell and unstable that they are unable to be dialyised usually because of cardiovascular instability that their bloody pressure simply won’t allow them to actually get onto the dialysis machine without collapse but these people as so incredibly critically ill that they are not on instagram, they most likely aren’t conscious and are on a ventilator. So I don’t understand this at all.

CreationNat1on · 31/03/2025 19:10

This is all v strange, however I would reserve judgement. Kidney failure, causes toxins to build up in the blood, which can effect the brain, can cause hallucinations etc, can essentially cause "madness" type symptoms. There is a possibility that she isn't knowingly posting mistruths, that her perception may be altered by kidney failure/meds.

It could be fake news too, time will tell.

NameChangedOfc · 31/03/2025 19:16

This is incredibly sad, whether true or fake.

Lougc · 31/03/2025 19:22

I feel very sorry for her and judging off her past posts, I think this is probably something deeper, hoping it prompts some kind of visit from her children or panicking based off drugs given to her as part of her treatment. and she will probably make a recovery.

Parteepooper · 31/03/2025 19:23

very odd indeed

Virginia Giuffre hit by bus
19kgofchocolate · 31/03/2025 19:27

It’s been reported in Sky News, the Independent and the Evening Standard. Unlikely to be fake news 🤷‍♀️, I’m quite surprised at the amount of comments inferring it is.

The wording on the reporting is extremely careful.

They all say Virginia Guiffre "claims" - which isn't the standard ways things are reported.

There are quite a lot of inconsistencies in the photo and the facts as described by Virginia, as numerous nurses on this thread have commented on.

And nothing on the BBC site either, which is telling as they're normally hot on breaking news.

I can't remember what it was but it was the first one that came up on IG when I looked earlier, has it gone now?

I also unfortunately think this.

It doesn't mean that Prince Andrew is innocent, or that he's not a vile, sleazy creep with an unhealthy liking for young-looking teens. He was very firmly part of Epstein's sleazy circle, with all that entailed.

But IIRC, Virginia Guiffre was caught out lying quite a few times, and was counter-sued by another man she was accusing when new evidence was released showing that he couldn't have been the person she alleged. I also seem to recall some issues over the photo with Prince Andrew being "lost" so it couldn't be checked for doctoring.

I think she's a troubled woman who has a loose relationship with the truth. That doesn't mean she wasn't sex trafficked or abused. Both of these things can be true. I suspect that her difficulties might even be the reason why she was chosen by Epstein for him and his vile pals.

Nothing about this latest story rings true. She was hit at 68mph by her bus that's sent her into renal failure? Her face is bruised but no swelling? She's wearing a pierced earring on the side of her face which has heavy, extensive bruising? She's got make-up on the other eye - so is this supposed to have just happened? Because those injuries absolutely don't look fresh.

I'm really sorry for what Virginia has been through in her life, and for being used as a plaything by rich, sex-obsessed, exploitative men when she was just a young girl. No one deserves that.

But I also have real difficulties believing this story about her injuries, and I think it's potentially a manipulative way to get back with/at her estranged children.

You think a troubled young woman (child) from a very poor background was a perfectly ordinary guest at parties frequented by Royalty?

Yeah that’s the one I saw on ig too - I think it’s a hoax, no way she’d only have 9k followers

Nobody gets to wear necklaces in hospital - it’s all bullshit guys

I always wear my necklace in hospital.... The only time I took it off was right before surgery and it was put back on the next day- every time 😅

If its a hoax someones been playing an extremely long game, I've had another look and the account has been going for over 5 years and they've made a really good job of it.

in worried tones might acknowledge someone’s not going to make it through the night after an RTA
Never heard of a specific 4 day anticipated death.

Failing kidneys? If only someone could invent a machine to replicate the actions of the kidney. Oh hang on…

She has kidney failure apparently so maybe doctors can give a timeline.

Nope

So much for solidarity amongst women. Some of you should be ashamed of yourselves.

She's probably posting because she knew if she didn't, this would never have made the news given that the royal fascists would pay every fucking paper to keep it quiet. Use your brains ffs. More to the point, just because you or your families have experienced renal failure, does not make you experts. There could be other reasons alongside that which could be making things so much worse.

Poor Virginia.

Oh right so just because she's a female making this, at best very odd, allegation we all have to believe its completely true & not question it

Riiiiiiigh didn't realise those were the rules

Her verified Twitter account has 100k, so I’m still leaning towards a very poor taste hoax (and I hope so, of course).

If not, I’ll consider putting on my tinfoil hat because people who displease the royals sure seem to have bad luck with vehicles

I think this is really well put and exactly what I think too.

I do think she was likely exploited but I do not believe everything she says.

If only there was some sort of treatment for kidney failure, like dialysis….

oh wait..

Exactly. My mother had kidney failure a couple of years ago and she was doing fine this afternoon.

You think a troubled young woman (child) from a very poor background was a perfectly ordinary guest at parties frequented by Royalty?

She scrubbed up well.

I saw an interview with the boyfriend with whom she was living at that time, she was with him from 16-18. He was young too, just an ordinary guy. I felt a bit sorry for him.

You could tell he was nervous and embarrassed to be talking about it but he was hunted down by the press and gave in. Asked lots of questions about her relationship with Epstein and Ghislane Maxwell.

Said Maxwell had contacted her and asked her to go to England with her for a function, told her she would meet people, possibly including a prince. She was very excited at the prospect.

Boyfriend said he was uneasy about it but Epstein had previously invited him over to a party at his place and seemed OK, friendly and reassuring. Nothing seemed to be amiss and she was well paid as a hostess. He couldn't stop her anyway so accepted it. As we know, she went.

I've no idea whether the photo of her and Prince Andrew was genuine, I'm no expert at photography but no doubt such photos were often requested, too many to remember. She said it was taken with her little Kodak, she wanted a souvenir.

She went to Thailand to train properly as a masseuse, organised by Epstein. Met the man she married and decided not to return.

Epstein meanwhile was arrested for having sex with very young girls, something he had kept hidden or so he thought. He copped a plea so had an easy sentence, only having to sleep in custody, able to carry on with business during the day.

He had a finger in so many pies, was extremely influential and helped a lot of people with business, scientific research, all sorts. They all believed him when he said he didn't know the age of the girl or girls, was set up and it was easier to take a plea. A lot refused to believe he had one anything wrong, they liked and respected him so much, they spoke publicly about their support for him.

Ghislane had long given up on him, she was besotted for a lot of the time but eventually saw sense.

Years after the event, Virginia Guiffre spoke about her experience of working for Epstein, started the ball rolling. The rest is history.

I think the fact that she is unable to see her children is significant and think her ex-husband knows. a lot but we may never know.

I think she may survive this accident and recover but possibly disappear. She has the means after all.

It's up now, but with inverted commas around most of the claims: www.bbc.com/news/articles/c5yl5vle2nmo

It all seems very odd. I cannot conceive of a situation in which a doctor would tell a patient "You have four days to live". (I don't know if they even give terminal cancer patients handwaving estimates of the 3-to-6-month variety any more.) About the best spin I can put on it is that they said "You have acute renal failure" and she googled it, and it said "If untreated, people die within four days".
