Watching one of mg favourite films again, (Easy A) and it’s got Amanda Bynes in it.

I still feel so sorry for her. She was so talented and I loved her movies and it’s sad to see how she is now. I genuinely hope she gets all the help she needs

Pretty much all of them. The compromise they’ve had to make for fame and fortune would be too much for me. It seems very difficult to have a happy family life when you are in this bubble and that would be unbearable.

Gowlett · 30/03/2025 08:17

Lauren Goodger, yes. She was the best one on original Towie. The way she was treated by Mark / his family…

Losing her beautiful baby girl, her fella being no good, her ex dying tragically. Her own childhood trauma, family drama.

Namechange739 · 30/03/2025 08:18

She must have known his views before she had children with him. I doubt he went from feminist social justice warrior to right wing racist misogynist over night… He just got a more public platform for his views after going on question time.

I can vouch for that. It's a cesspit.

But Meghan Sussex has had the opposite of ill fortune. Good looks, lucrative career, married her soul mate who also ensures she’ll be in the history books forever . There’s nothing to feel sorry about. She’s still got all the choices.

Astrabees · 30/03/2025 08:27

Lily Allen, just at the moment. What a total shit her husband has been.

stayathomer · 30/03/2025 08:28

All the people wondering where people get their money from, would you not just assume it’s articles/ appearances/ promotions you don’t know about? And in the music industry there’s tons of people who write for other people. For all we know they could just be excellent savers/ investors! I love how mistrustful people are, nobody knows other people’s circumstances

Cheryl Cole, she’s been through so much yet still seems to keep it together.

🤐

I don't really know much about her. I just can't stand misogyny and racism. Thread after thread by swivel eyed obsessives tearing her to shreds. Bloody awful place.

Caroline Flack. I know what she did to her BF was wrong but I feel so so sad that she felt her only way out was suicide.

Also Jade Goodie. She died on Mother’s Day, son tomorrow is her anniversary.

Would you feel the same about a male domestic abuser?

churf7 · 30/03/2025 08:40

Lily Allen. The way the media treats her is awful

Agreed. What a pig. 3 years cheating on her? That's Stranger Things ruined.

(although I can't really see how it will work now the kids are all grown men/women!)

Agree about Meghan too. She isnt perfect but the tabloids crucify her, especially the Daily Fail who have a really vendetta against the two.

Justin Bieber : looks terrified about what will come out of the Diddy trial

Amy Winehouse: i have mutual friends and by all accounts, she was just a normal girl from North London

I don't feel a bit sorry for Meghan. The way she has treated others is despicable. That is the reason she has so many critics.

Prince Harry. Born into a weird family, with no ability to form his own life or destiny, constantly in the public eye, Mother killed thanks in part to the press he constantly has to live with, emotionally unbalanced and unhappy Mother due to the dysfunctionally family she’s in, emotionally unavailable father, boarding school.

He’s a completely fucked up.

Jade Goodie died on 22/3/2009 so her anniversary has already passed it’s not tomorrow

Yes, but if your mum died on Mother’s Day it’s likely you would think of Mother’s Day as being the anniversary.

I feel so sad for what happened to Whitney Houston’s daughter, Bobbi Kristina
The poor girl never stood a chance

The trouble with Meghan is, I can have moments where I do feel sorry for her but then something happens and I think, oh you entitled brat. For instance, the recent pile on with her show (admittedly I struggled to watch it and gave up by ep 4) but thought at least she's trying, then in my youtube feed yesterday up popped a short of her on Oprah where she was complaining and deriding her £32 million wedding and I went back to thinking, oh you entitled brat.

I don’t really follow celebrities as they all seem to be names from Love Island type shows, which I don’t watch. I can’t think of anything worse than being famous. (I’ll take the riches but a big No to fame).

So after she found out he’d been messaging other women, she lashed out at him then harmed herself and after the backlash felt the only way out was to take her life….. regardless of male or female do you not think that is sad? Someone thinks their only way out is to kill themselves?

Pedallleur · 30/03/2025 09:01

Radacanu is a tennis player but gets the grief by being a woman. I remember when Navratilova was the target of the press because she was gay. Graff and Evert were golden but now would be criticised for being them.No wonder George Michael and others hid in plain sight. Others who seek celebrity I have less sympathy for.

Snapncrackle · 30/03/2025 09:04

Justin Bieber

never was a fan ( nor his target market )
but I would always end up singing along to a song in the car and then realise it was him😂
he’s a very talanted singer and musician

He wrote a song called Lonely
honestly listen to it on its one of his best songs ( I think ) and it’s about a young kid being famous having everything but being lonely and no one giving a shit - it’s absolutely haunting and if he released it now it would be a massive hit

Knowing what’s been said about Puff Daddy And his abusive nature I feel so sorry for JB

Bruce Willis
Big Star for me growing up
Christmas isn’t Christmas without Die Hard

George Michael

My friend is a criminologist and forensic psychologist and he says that anyone who wants to be famous is psychotic and I tend to agree with the him.

I'm not sure he know what psychotic means.

She may well be an entitled brat but the level of vitriol hurled at her is insane. Far worse than a murderer. It's clearly racist misogynistic shit.

I still find the Duffy story completely strange as why didnt anyone report her missing? The story pops up every few years. Is she making it all up?

I am more worried that this man is still out there doing the same to other women.

It also minimises the ordeal (drugged, kidnapped and repeatedly raped for years) that she went through, given the fact that he has never been bought to justice or there seems to be no interest to bring him to justice or even publicly naming this monster.

The whole thing is weird.

I think suicide in itself is sad, if that’s your question. But of all the famous people in the world, I wouldn’t put someone who thinks messaging other people warrants being physically attacked at the top of the list of people I feel sorry for.
