Watching one of mg favourite films again, (Easy A) and it’s got Amanda Bynes in it.

I still feel so sorry for her. She was so talented and I loved her movies and it’s sad to see how she is now. I genuinely hope she gets all the help she needs

I have no idea about sexual inappropriateness.

Bianca Censori. How will she look back in the future on how she is paraded around. I'm not sure how much agency she has, or, being so young, how much she can reflect on what her future will be like. What will her potential kids think?

Yes. Being abused in plain sight. Horrific.

Amber Heard. How she was treated was disgusting because Saint Jonny can do no wrong.

CinnamonJellyBeans · 29/03/2025 23:37

Samantha Fox.

Lena Zavaroni

TheBuffetInspector · 29/03/2025 23:37

Bianca Censori is not some manipulated little girl.

The vidoes after the Oscars 'stunt' she's in full whatever mode, dressed... I'm trying to think of the word, not commanding the room, but certainly centre stage laughing and enjoying herself with several people including Kanye.

ChompandaGrazia · 29/03/2025 23:38

I think some of the problem with celebrity is that it can be very hard to walk away. I think that very short lived fame you can get away from but anything more it’s tricky. What do you do if you are, for example, Peter Andre and you fancy retraining as a vicar or an accountant or something. You’d be constantly having to explain that yes, you used to be famous but now you don’t want to be. It would be all over the tabloid etc. If your reason for fame isn’t enough to be a career anymore then what do you do?

TheBuffetInspector · 29/03/2025 23:40

Amber Heard... I can't defend her or Jonny Depp.

Both very toxic towards each other.

She shat on his bed. He's still missing a finger tip.

Boak. Neither of them came out of that well.

liontamers · 29/03/2025 20:28

That’s not true, it can be a lot more complex than that. Its how they earn money, if they’ve been in that career since they were young it’s the only way they know. That’s not taking into account how psychologically damaging it can be.
Also the British public and press are relentless, once you’ve reached a certain level of fame you wouldn’t be allowed to just leave and live a normal quiet life whenever you wanted.

Also, many young celebrities who have reached some degree of success, become the “earner” for their families, their team of staff, and even sometimes for friends and hangers on. The pressure on them to keep working is huge.

To be fair, until Peter Andre went on I'm a Celeb then married Katie Price he probably could have been a vicar and nobody would have noticed or cared.

I agree with your last sentence but BC is 30 years old, not someone I'd say was "so young" (with apologies to any 30 year olds reading this).

ClairDeLaLune · 29/03/2025 23:43

Meghan Markle. Absolutely crucified by the British press and many many people on here.

He's another one I wonder about, how is he funding his lifestyle, especially as he has quite a few kids. He doesn't seem to be on telly these days thank fuck and I know the re release of Mysterious Girl did well but that was 20 years ago.

PixelatedLunchbox · 29/03/2025 23:47

Katie Price

My mistake. I thought she was early 20's

I don't feel sorry for Katie Price.

I remember seeing her first page 3 (blimey, that's going back) she was dating Teddy Sheringham. No work done.

She's always made decisions for herself, she's come across as a very strong business woman in the past. She's not daft.

Whatever is going on at the moment then it's funding her. I don't think she makes a decision without weighing up how much money will come from it.

That idiot JJ though...

I feel sorry for his first 'wife' on MAFS. Poor girl didn't stand a chance.

Well he's married now to a doctor and I think they made a brand of themselves lifestyle wise.

I suppose once you're back in the media circus then anything pays really.

I don't he troubled the Job Centre.

Mistyglade · 30/03/2025 00:08

Meghan, Britney, Lindsay Lohan, Duffy.

Whoonearthareyou · 30/03/2025 00:16

Anyone who has experienced lifechanging injury or illness, especially when they were relatively young. Michael J Fox is one example.

Shoezembagsforever · 30/03/2025 00:18

JeanGenieJean · 29/03/2025 21:37

Judy Garland. Immensely talented, but the way she was treated by the studio as a child, starved and drugged etc., messed her up for life.

The worst I’ve ever heard - hopefully that never happens now.

DressOrSkirt · 30/03/2025 00:19

Courtney Love and Britney.

midlandsmummy123 · 30/03/2025 00:20

Michelle Trachtenberg (Dawn from Buffy) - started age 3 as a child actress and died a couple of weeks ago aged 39 after addiction issues and a failed liver transplant, - Sarah Michelle Gellar (buffy) tribute '“Michelle, listen to me. Listen. I love you. I will always love you. The hardest thing in this world, is to live in it. I will be brave. I will live… for you”

I've just been reading about that... I thought it was just a stalker...

Lots of flying forth and back. Very strange.

It's one of those awful things that you don't want to doubt, but then you think that people have actually lived through that shit and you wouldn't want to think someone was capable of making up a story like that.

I know what I mean.

BeckyBismuth · 30/03/2025 00:24

liontamers · 29/03/2025 20:32

I now feel immediately sorry for Amanda Holden. That’s a lot of assumptions and insults on someone you’ve probably never met and know nothing about. You also know nothing about les Dennis and how nice he is from seeing him on a tv game show.

I don't feel sorry for Amanda Holden at all. She knows exactly what she is doing, and has got a long way on not very much talent, ironic given the name of the show she is known for. I really do not like her. She gets exposure from being "cheeky" "naughty" as she puts it. I remember her posing with no knickers on and a dress with a zip that was open to reveal her bare backside. She once dressed her school age daughter as Vivien in Pretty Woman. She is a remarkable self-publicist, and can come over though as a very nice, friendly person but underneath I doubt it. She is the most full of herself person I've ever seen, and I've seen her face up close - which is fake. If she really was that talented, she would not have to resort to going out with no bra on a cold day to show her "assets".

It must be very exhausting to be Amanda. She clearly spends all her time working on herself to keep her figure, and having tweakments.

Having written all that now I think I actually DO feel sorry for her, because the way she conducts herself is possibly because she knows she's a bit of an empty vessel.

BillyILash · 30/03/2025 00:25

There are a few

Britney - she never stood a chance she’s been taken advantage of her entire life, there is absolutely no one in her life to protect her.

Kelsey Grammer - I recently read about his life, so much tragedy.

Duffy - obviously we only know what she’s spoken about, but if what she says is true it’s awful.

Judy Garland - I’ve never been able to watch the wizard of oz since I read about her life and how she was treated on that set.

Tina Turner - what a woman and an inspiration, that woman deserved every ounce of credit and peace she fought for in life.

Drew Barrymore - I remember as a child, her being blamed for her own abuse.

There are so many celebs who were abused as children and overcame it, Opera Whinfrey, Julia Andrews, Tyler Perry, Charlene Theron, Queen Latifa… They might be rich and famous now but that didn’t make their suffering any less.
