It's an obscene amount of money.

Apart from the usual house, car, holiday, helping friends and family and charity, what would you do with it?

TheTwirlyPoos · 28/03/2025 21:38

Same! Id already burdened myself with the idea of the friends we'd probably lose over our massive win.

Finallybreathingout · 28/03/2025 21:39

I wasn’t going to tell anyone but DH.

Nothing about the way I’ve lived my life till now supports the idea that I’m capable of this level of discretion.

Antsinmypantsneedtodance · 28/03/2025 13:40

This.

I'd tell no one for ages. Then tell family I'd come into some money but not how much. I'd pay off my siblings mortgage and give them a lump sum and same for my nieces and nephews in trust. Probably some to my parents to enjoy.

For my mental health i'd carry on as normal though. I work part time anyway and DD would still need to goto school. So may as well work to do something. DH would probably also go part time. Day to day wise i'd stay similar to we are now. But would spend money on the extras, do up the house, a second car and first class holidays. I'd probably move house after a little while.

I don't have close friends who'd notice. So easy enough to hide. There's wealth management firms so i'd utilise them to manage the money somewhat.

I'd give to smaller charities and anonymously gift to some people or organisations who need it. For example our local primary school, child fundraising for a specialist wheelchair. But i wouldn't be throwing millions at friends.

I'd do pretty much the same. I'd consider giving to a couple of friends but I would worry that the more people told would increase the risk of it getting out.

It's nice to dream but it's also nice that we wouldn't actually want our lives to change very much.

That in itself is a gift, compared to a lot of people.

shellyleppard · 28/03/2025 21:49

I'd be happy with £250,000 . Give my sons £50,000 each for house deposits. Buy my council house and do it up. Live off the rest happily 🤗

Sheknowsaboutme · 28/03/2025 21:56

Id stay in my house. I love it! Id buy a house for DD should she want to move, id buy a flat for my other DD.

id get a new car every 3 yrs.

fix my fencing, build a new garage, resin driveway, install a gym in another out building, buy more land.

say nothing to my dad. Hes ok money wise, but my step mum would blab to her 3 daughters. Brother? Nah, stay quiet.

JaneJeffer · 28/03/2025 22:02

Well I didn’t win so I hope someone else on here won something

thinkingofausername · 28/03/2025 22:04

I'd open as many SEN schools as possible

My online account says to check later, so I can remain Schrödinger's Lottery Winner for a bit longer!

FairKoala · 28/03/2025 22:14

I would book myself into the swankiest hotels around the world sell everything and eat out each night and travel

I hate housework and all the stuff that goes with it. Including paying bills and all the mental load that goes with it

Cookielover64 · 28/03/2025 22:15

I'm comfortable now and there are so many things I wouldn't waste money on, even if I was a millionaire. A jet, much cheaper to just hire one as and when, same with a yacht. Those £9 ready meals in morrisons 🤣

I'd charter a jet to an ultra luxury beach hotel and have a good old think. Fly home and buy a house with lots of land to house rescue animals.

Auburngal · 28/03/2025 22:42

They need to sort out the lower prizes.

About two years ago, I paid out a customer who won 3 numbers and 2 stars. Guess how much the payout was……..

£20.40.

For two numbers off the jackpot.

A bloody insult.

Should be £250 minimum

mindingmyown37 · 28/03/2025 22:52

Tbh I wouldn’t even know what to do, or how to handle that amount of money… I get excited and overwhelmed when I get more than a grand into my account. But I a;ways imagined I’d defo start a non profit. I’d give some to a certain family and friends. I’d also buy houses/villas in New York, Florida & cali and rent it out, using the money for when we visit. caravans or holiday homes in Skegness and Great Yarmouth. I’d start a dessert business similar to creams or kaspas as there isn’t one nearby so I know it would defo conjure some business, employ a fair few people so essentially helping the community. I’d buy the house down the road from my mum that’s currently up for sale, 5 beds and only £600,000, don’t need a massive house for 4 of us. I’d probably still work and pay my earnings to charity as I’d need to work to keep my mental health in check. Imo lay work part time anyway so not an issue.
tbh I’d be happy with 500,000,

Conundrumseverywhere · 29/03/2025 07:05

I was thrilled to get an email this morning g to say I’d won a prize!! The grand total of £12, but I got my money back!

TheSassyTraybake · 29/03/2025 07:06

£209m. 1 winner. Not in the U.K. back to work on Monday I guess!

Auburngal · 29/03/2025 07:24

I have visited countries where the Euromillions is played and don't see it advertised. Even in Spain where they have lottery kiosks in the street. Read somewhere that 60% of tickets are purchased in the UK.

Tumbleweed101 · 29/03/2025 07:38

After seeing my family and friends all comfortable I’ve often thought I’d like to buy several houses and rent them at a subsidised rate for families facing homelessness due to cost of living crisis, bit like housing association. I’d also be creating jobs then for those who’d be needed for maintaining them.

HermioneWeasley · 29/03/2025 07:43

I won £2.80 so I’m up by 30p. Need to work out how I’m going to invest it

EarlofShrewsbury · 29/03/2025 08:28

I didn't win.

Fuming.

shellyleppard · 29/03/2025 08:30

@EarlofShrewsbury i did!!!! £5.68 !!! 😂😂😂😂

MyCatIsTheHeadChef · 29/03/2025 08:44

I didn't win. But then I checked and realised I accidentally bought for the tthe Tuesday draw.

So it's definitely MINE!!!!!

MyCatIsTheHeadChef · 29/03/2025 08:44

Oh damn. Just seen it was won.

Crucible · 29/03/2025 08:50

I don't think I'd ever set anything up charity wise myself, I'd give it away all the time to the smaller ones. I'd build houses though, I'd be the next Titus Salt, entirely not for profit (just the building scheme would be job creation in itself).

HurdyGurdy19 · 29/03/2025 08:56

Whilst silently seething inwardly that it wasn't me, I hope the winner has a great time spending/investing/donating/whatever they choose to do with it.

I run our work syndicate, and buy eight tickets a week - got nothing.

I buy one ticket for me each week - got nothing.

Bought two lucky dips for me for last night's draw - £4.20. Rubbish 😂didn't even break even.

But I'll continue dreaming.

Peaceandquietandacuppa · 29/03/2025 08:59

Pay off debts, pay off the house. Sort family and friends out. Donate to some local causes, Trussell, Scout groups etc.

Hand in my notice at work, and book loads of trips. Every school holiday - travel. Europe, Japan, Thailand, Greenland top of the list.

Renovate existing house (because it has potential and I’d love to see what it could be like). Rent it out. Move to a bigger house.

Once I’ve had some time off, set up a charitable foundation and work at that.
