Inspired by another unusual baby name thread.
I remember as a young child hating my boring normal name and wanting to change it.
So glad I kept my name instead of becoming 'crystal star twinkle' that my 6 year old self insisted I wanted to be called.

My dd would have opted for Princess monkey trump purple minion magpie stinker, I suspect at 16 she'd still like to be addressed as such, minus 'stinker', tbf dh and i added that (she's still a happy weirdo 😁)

I never really thought about my name much as a child and am ambivalent about it now. My daughter ( named Elizabeth at birth) told me age 2 that she didn't like her name. She went by Lizzie for most of her childhood and then changed her name officially when she was about 19 ( having never acquired a liking for her name!) I have to say, I still like the name Elizabeth but I'm not the one that has to live with it and her new name suits her very well.

I wasn’t given a middle name and I always thought that was so unfair as my three Dsis all had them. Years later a friend told me that she hated hers and she never told anyone what it was … I managed to prise it out of her on the condition I would tell her mine afterwards . When she finally told me what hers was, she was livid when I admitted I that I didn’t have one 😂 I appeased her by agreeing from that day forward I would adopt her middle name and hers would become I-haven’t-got-one. There’s a really ‘spooky action at a distance’ element to this story … but my middle name is now Sandra.
