Ah ok well what does he say when you ask him why he does it?
And if your H won’t stop to help you not jump out of your skin you have little hope with the rest of the shouters.
But if you want a more philosophical observation, as I have a house of males, plus additionals sometimes, who like the odd sporting fixture on tv, and it’s passion, watching live competition, seeing athletes, because whether you enjoy it or not (with the exception of darts perhaps) footballers, rugby players etc are athletes, look at what their bodies do, and the skill and endurance to go against another opponent or team who are also trying to win, you get embroiled in the moment and shouting, cheering, chanting, singing makes you feel part of the game.
Some people feel part of a tribe being a fan, bit like how church use to make people feel.
Yes some take it too far and lose sense of healthy competition, but then others take other things too far as well, we all do from time to time.
Seeing a top athlete/team perform at their best, using refereed games to display human strength and team play, mental strength, pushing to the limits can be a thing of beauty and passion. Accepting defeat gracefully is a good lesson as well.
So being “allowed” to express yourself in those moments is better than being dead inside, devoid of all strong emotions, isn’t it?
Luke Littler in January had our whole house jumping round the sofas every throw of the dart, it was fun, noisy, but fun and took everyone away from the drudgery of daily routine.
It’s not a bad thing OP.
