Don't want to give actual names as it would be identifying but in a team of 9 we had the following:

2 x Sarah's
2 x Emma's
2 x Matt's
1 x Nat
1 x Anna
1x Ann

Whenever someone come into our office and asked for a particular person, there would always be another person that turned round at the same time because either they had the same name or a name the rhymed. The team was like that for about 5 years too until we got an Niamh!

teetotalpinkgindrinker · 06/03/2025 21:44

Not so much now, but when I began working there there was me, Jane Smith, my line manager Mary Smith and her line manager, Mary Smith-Jones.

We currently have 2 Sharon's, a Tracey, a Karen, a Jackie and an Annie. Guess our ages? 😂

gaggiagirl · 06/03/2025 21:44

In my office of 14 people there are 2 of us who share the same first and last name and our names aren't particularly common names. We have different roles and I don't get some emails because she gets them and vice versa. In fact when she started (16 years after me) IT gave her my log in eg ahambledon and email address eg [email protected] and phone extension and I was locked out and had to start over again.
I'm incredibly bitter about it still 🤣 not her fault she is lovely.

Poppymeldrum · 06/03/2025 21:46

We have two Skyes
We did have two Charlotte's but one left (thank god,she was an evil cow)
We also has two Sarah's but one left due to Ill health
We did have 3 Claires at one point, but one stayed, one quit and one is technically still employed but she's not been in over a year
We did have two joshes but one quit

redastherose · 06/03/2025 21:46

Strangely the only repeat name is Katie and we have 3 of those and one Kate!

DoggoQuestions · 06/03/2025 21:50

Lots of Sarahs. Lots of James.

Loveduppenguin · 06/03/2025 21:52

Good god yes! Theres over 1500 on site…
in my dept there’s three Aoife’s, guess what country I’m in.
I was emailing another department today and I realised 3 out of the seven had the same surname which was odd!

Gothamcity · 06/03/2025 21:53

Loads of Sallys in my work place. But, even better, on my road my next door neighbours both sides, and one door down also, all have the same name as me. So there's 4 of us in a row!

SevernWonders · 06/03/2025 21:55

School with approx 100ish staff. SLT are made up of 4 x Karen, and a male and female Kerry.

LittleGreenDuck · 06/03/2025 21:59

In a department of around 30, we have three Leonas. One early 20s, one 30ish and one late 40s, so quite an age range.

A previous workplace was staffed almost entirely by Chis, Jennys and Mikes.

PositiveChanges4Lent · 06/03/2025 22:02

I used to work in a team of 12 and 4 were called Dave, 3 had nicknames though.

My boyfriend at the time was also called…. Dave.

VaddaABeetch · 06/03/2025 22:04

Im in Ireland

Orla, Siobhan, Sinead
Conor, Sean, Niall

NeverDropYourMooncup · 06/03/2025 22:15

It's not just the duplicate given names, it's the middle and family names that invariably match in particular age groups.

We had two Lucys with identical middle and surnames doing the same job, most Claires seem to be Claire Michelles, Gemmas are Gemma Louises and I think there was a law set down somewhere around 1952 decreeing that every Carol had to have Ann/Anne as a middle name in perpetuity.

Oh, and whilst Stephens, Pauls, Davids and Marks all have Robert or James as their middle names, I think that there was a update to the Law of Carol Anne to require that every boy, irrespective of ethnicity or year of birth that was named Trevor had to be Trevor James and referred to daily as TJ or Teej.

Toddlerteaplease · 06/03/2025 22:19

2x Toni
2x Marie
2x Vic

At one point we had about 4 Emma's, and 3 Catherine's. That made allocation tricky!

BobbyBiscuits · 06/03/2025 22:22

In a place with about 100 staff there were about six with my first name, and three or four with my surname. But I used a short version so didn't get mixed up.

TheMorels · 06/03/2025 22:27

4 Dans in my team alone.

3 Simons, 3 Sarahs, many Robs and Davids.

Pinkl · 06/03/2025 22:55

I remember starting with my old team and being overwhelmed with the variations of Katherine:
Kate x 2
Katie
Cathy
Katy
and one Catherine.

It didn’t help that there was a Caren in the mix as well with the same surname as Katie.

Velvian · 06/03/2025 22:59

I used to sit next to David, opposite David and behind David who was opposite David and all them were resolutely not Dave.

TheDevilWearPrimarni · 06/03/2025 23:32

In the mid 90s I worked in a company with 120 members of staff and 8 of them were called Sarah.

MrsCarson · 06/03/2025 23:37

I worked in a small place we had 2 Zoe, 2 Chloe, 2 Stacey 2 Karen 3 John and half of the nurses had the same surname and none of them were related

ARichtGoodDram · 06/03/2025 23:39

In the last place I worked we had a nightmare with two staff members with the same name and date of birth.

One of them ended up using their middle name after so many mix ups - including a bonus!

YerAWizardHarry · 06/03/2025 23:41

We have an abundance of 80s-esque names beginning with L at our small school (Laura, Louise, Lindsey etc)

EBearhug · 06/03/2025 23:41

12 of us on a call. 5 of them were Mike.

notwavingbutsinking · 06/03/2025 23:48

I've just left a smallish company where 40%of the employees were called Paul.

BaMamma · 06/03/2025 23:51

PrincessHoneysuckle · 06/03/2025 21:00

We've got

2 liz
2 kirsty
2 Stacey
2 Heather
2 Johnny
2 Lois

Yes I'm bored.

2 Davids and a smattering of Stephanies
