I admit that I don't follow politics closely.

I'm not sure what is happening with Trump.
One day he is saying one thing then the next he either forgets what he said or changes the words.
He is coming across as a mad man or is this the way dictators act.

How he is treating President Zelensky is disgusting.

I don’t think it’ll make a difference if he dies. The GOP will put a battery up his arse, fit him with a Bluetooth speaker and use an AI bot to make his speeches, and the MAGA morons will still vote for him.

I agree he's getting worse but he was always like this. He has clearly promised to sort it out for Putin and now cannot believe Ukraine won't bend to his will. He forgot he signed the trade agreement he is now removing.

He isn't well and apparently he's incontinent so he stinks.

The only solace I've got is that his voters are finding out that he meant them when he was going to cripple the poor.

Zelensky played this all wrong. He forced Trump in front of the world to look a pictures of Ukraine soldiers.

He wasn’t prepared for this very important meeting. What did he expect what going to happen? Billons more given? Trump had already said he wanted to be a peace maker. This war isn’t going to end anytime soon and Zelensky was just looking for money. No indication of wanting to end this war?

He wants Trump to deride putin on TV,say he's bad but trumps only string is the so called relationship between them.
Plenty in trumps team absolutely hate putin who would like him!! But trump doesn't want to say anything that can jeapordise that phone call relationship.

The interview was appalling, that cannot be denied. However it would have been a lot different if Zelensky had marginalised Vance as an irritating nobody, and talked directly to Trump. If he'd used the words he later used on Fox he could have played to Trump's ego.

Trump is right in one thing, that Zelensky has few cards. Bickering with a xenophobic prick like Vance did make Vance look stupid, but it was antagonistic and led to Trump being able to deliver his lecture.

However rubbish Harris may have been, however senile Biden was, can it seriously be argued Trump was any better??

I think Starmer has realised that he needs to take a leaf out of Putin's playbook and massage Trump's ego in order to keep him
onside. With America gone mad, the UK and France are now at the forefront of the global defence of decency and democracy.

What you would have expected to be a fairly solemn statement from POTUS about a tragic event very rapidly turned into an appalling and lengthy free form rant about DEI.

Z should have listened to his diplomatic advisors and probably would have done better to have had a diplomatic interpreter there too.

An interpreter would have slowed the whole episode down, which would probably have made a difference.
