Trump must have something wrong with him

Introducingme · 28/02/2025 18:37

I admit that I don't follow politics closely.

I'm not sure what is happening with Trump.
One day he is saying one thing then the next he either forgets what he said or changes the words.
He is coming across as a mad man or is this the way dictators act.

How he is treating President Zelensky is disgusting.

There was talk of amending the constitution to allow him a third term.

And/or it becoming a life presidency, dynasty sort of thing so his son would automatically become president when he goes.

Vascular Dementia, I’ve been saying it for years.

I worked in dementia for over twenty years. That man is unwell.

I’m not saying he’s not a psychopath, he is. But he’s also really not well.

This alongside a dose of narcissism and growing up in a world where he was never told no.

There’s a reason he boasted about having aced the mini mental state exam during his last presidency.

I want to go a live on Venus, it'd be more peaceful. We can't live like this. It's too chaotic and unpredictable. Lord alone knows how the sensible variety Americans feel.

Rally round your country now. Rally round what you have in common, not what divides you.

Trump makes the world less safe, not more peaceful.

Never2many · 28/02/2025 19:57

I’m not convinced.

I think we need to look past all this public madness at what is going on in the background. With America, with abortion laws, with immigration, with so many other things which appear to be slowly changed in the background while Trump puts on a display for the world.

And the fact that all these leaders are coming over to participate in the circus makes me think that they’re all in it together.

Starmer is clearly on his side. Why else would he extend a visit from the king. In fact the way Starmer was sucking up to him yesterday was embarrassing.

I don’t know what the answer is wrt Ukraine, but tbh we can’t fund them indefinitely, and the reality is that they are never going to win this war. And we’re not getting involved to help Ukraine, we’re getting involved to keep Russia away.

JazzyJelly · 28/02/2025 20:09

Yes, I think there's something very wrong with the way he speaks, loses his thoughts, rambles, apparently forgets recent events, and his strange forward-leaning stance.

I'm sure he was a dickhead his whole life, but he does appear to have something additional wrong with him now.

blacksax · 28/02/2025 20:19

He's as mad as a box of frogs.

Halloumiheaven · 28/02/2025 20:25

He's a narcissist, lacks empathy and has delusions of grandeur. That much is obvious.

It is scary. But equally, I think there's been some very scary extreme left wing politics that have not only been given air time but have been implemented as laws ! Who would have thought males would be allowed in women's toilets in 2025!? And to voice your opposition makes you an 'ist and you could be dismissed legally from your job...

Far Left and far right wing politics are both rather scary at this time

Putin has to have something big on Trump - otherwise I just don’t understand it. Vance -despite recently slagging off Trump - now appears to be trying to disappear up his anal tract

I think it's possible. Either that, or Trump is just a very weak man with a colossal ego who is easily swayed by flattery, and Putin knows how to play him like a fiddle.

Talonz · 28/02/2025 21:09

Where is Obama?

Where is the Bush Family?
Where are people like Ellen DeGeneres, who has moved to the Cotswolds to escape Trump?

Why are these people not taking Trump to account?

At least Zelensky did.

Hungrycaterpillarsmummy · 28/02/2025 21:10

That interview was INSANE.
Vance...wtf is he on?! Omg

Talonz · 28/02/2025 19:10

Zelensky was stitched up there. The only way forward will be for him to resign though, because there is no security guarantee from the US without a change of leadership in Ukraine.

America runs the masterclass on disaster capitalism and Trump is now the CEO. Putin is a heavyweight bouncer, but he does not own the freehold.

So he resigned, someone else comes in and Trump tried to continue to screw them over?

Talonz · 28/02/2025 21:46

So he resigned, someone else comes in and Trump tried to continue to screw them over?

No. He conditionally resigns, on the basis there are fair and free elections. A clean candidate is then elected.

Critically, Trump has to declare his hand.

He'd find something wrong with the new one too, even if the Ukrainian people elected the second coming of Jesus Christ.

I'm sure he'd be thrilled to see Putin ruling over Ukraine though.

shadypines · 28/02/2025 22:27

"Did I use the word 'dictator'? ??
Next question...."
Anyone for a bit of gaslighting.....
Nevermind we'll roll out the red carpet for the orange idiot anyway.

He is chaotic to control people, it is an established strategy. It's also harder for people to control you if you're unpredictable.

I think this is spot on. It brings to mind the behaviour you often see in domestic abuse.

Starmer had no choice, not did Macron really. The USA is still the world's biggest superpower and we need them onside. They weren't to know yesterday's meltdown was coming.

MarvellousMarch · 01/03/2025 08:10

@TheLightSideOfTheMoon

Re dementia do you think the repeating and going around in circles is part of this?

Needtosoundoffandbreathe · 01/03/2025 08:11

It is absolutely shameful for the US. Two playground bullies demanding gratefulness from the man who has shown incredible leadership under immense pressure and who one of them has very publicly called a dictator then denied.

Damn right Ukraine needs security guarantees. Did Trump really think Ukraine would sign over its mineral rights so it can be shafted for decades to come by the US without them? I don't know the details but was the US govt plan to be on Russia's doorstep mining so Putin would pull back whilst Ukraine is just a puppet of one or both of them? Zelensky had already conceded NATO membership.

There was palpable shock in the TV studio on last night's news. I'm horrified. I don't know how we get back from this and restore balance and peace. Europe is going to have to step up. There's no alternative now. There are so many echoes of the circumstances around the outbreak of WWII it's astounding that we've not learned from history.

You need to stop imagining that Trump wants the things you would want if you were president.

He's a businessman. He wants lots of money.

He's a psychopath and the most powerful man in the world. He really, really doesn't care about anyone else's opinion or interests.

His thought process is something like:

Ukraine's mineral deposits look good, and with the war uncertainty, they're up for grabs. I'll have that.

Russia is making a play for it too. Weighing up cost/benefit,there's better return if I cut a deal with Putin now, rather than pay to keep Zelensky fighting him in the hope of a bigger cut.

Zelensky's signature will mean other countries let me take the deposits without interfering. He doesn't have enough power to be able to force his way to keep the profit himself: he's just an impediment I need to get out of the way as cheaply as possible. Try bullying him to sign, that's cheap. If that doesn't work <next strategy>.

Right, next deal!

How can you have elections now? How many Ukrainians aren't in Ukraine? How many are fighting?

Surely that is exactly the reason the Ukrainians constitution doesn't allow elections during war.

sierramiller · 01/03/2025 08:40

I wonder how Trump's health is

He's 78

Average age of American men is 74

He doesn't look great

Come on nature! Do your besy

Ginmonkeyagain · 01/03/2025 08:45

Re:elections the other issue is in the Russian occupied areas there is a real chance people will be intimidated in to voting for a Russian stooge candidate.

Iamallowedtodisagreewithyou · 28/02/2025 18:39

He won't be here for long, only another 4 years - he's getting old, they need younger candidates.

That won't happen. Trump is not going to leave the White House gracefully in four years.
