What boring thing are you excited about?

Went to lidl today and they've got 30% off fruit! Got some mangos and plums to add to the pineapple and satsumas I already had - on a health kick and trying to ditch the sweets - so far it's been 4 days

Also, got a new spiraliser from pro cook - so easy to use and I've been making 'spaghetti' bolognese with spiralised courgettes - delish

These two boring things have made my week so exciting 😭😭😭

I have been so sick for two days . Couldn't keep anything down . DD has just offered to make me tea and toast. I can't wait

Haircut tomorrow. I havent had one since the end of October. House selling/buying/packing have taken up most of my weekends so im well overdue and feeling very much not myself in the hair dept.

I’m going to ‘big B&M’ (I think it’s the biggest in the country 😄) this afternoon for a cleaning product spree!

Like a PP, I am very excited about bin day. Our blue recycling bin didn't get collected two weeks ago and it's completely full so there's recycling everywhere as I can't fit anything else in.

When I get home, I am looking forward to wheeling my empty bin to the back door and clearing the huge mass of stuff into it. Instant tidying!!

I'm far more excited than I should be about the prospect of taking stuff to the tip at the weekend. I always come away feeling purified and optimistic.

Being able to put a wash load outside and the sun was actually shining. I think it might even dry properly too.

I'm never usually excited about laundry 😆

I’m very excited about my vegetable seeds being delivered today along with seed trays and a mini green house being delivered tomorrow 😆

I've bought a new carpet cleaner this week. A spot one that cleans up spills, small marks, etc. I've had enormous fun finding spots around the house and banishing them with my cleaner. My litttle boy is almost as excited to help me. He loves a gadget too.

I bought a big storage box to sort out and pack some things away in the cellar, and some photo frames for a cool set of postcards I bought. I'm so happy. 😂

I'm a bit excited (but also a bit nervous) to go and buy some new jeans. I've lost 4 stone and dropped a few dress sizes.

I'm really enjoying this thread.
I often, eventually, 'unwatch' threads, but not this one.
It's so nice to read of all the little things in daily life that make others happy, and which we feel the need to classify as 'boring'!
So often parents deny themselves some of the most basic things, in order to give a little more to their families.
All the things that shed a bit of brightness are all so unique to each of us, and it's very gratifying to know that even the smallest pleasures are acknowledged, and appreciated.

We've had some plastering done which means my DD's room has been completely emptied, which means I can get in there with my vax and shampoo her carpets! 8 years of teenage girl funk and makeup stains and spilled drinks- they will be gone!!

Also very excited to pressure wash my slabs on Sunday/monday

I've just signed up for a garden bin collection so my new brown wheelie will be delivered within 10 days, then magically I will be inspired to garden more and will have a lovely peaceful garden 🤔

@underhedges my carpet cleaner is my favourite gadget of all time. I have a vax, it's ten years old and still going strong.

This would be mine as well. Love a good drying day.

@xYerDaSellsAvon I need to know more about label makers. I haven't got one and I've been thinking about it. Also love a new tea towel - I like to get ones from places I've been to. There's an artist called 'Nice things by Helena' who has lovely picture ones. Particularly good are her Christmas ones.

As for the simple thing that makes me happy - a pattern on top of my coffee in a lovely mug and the time to drink it in peace!
