Been gifted £2,000, with the only prerequisite being that it’s a treat for me (rather than the house etc). Please inspire me, what would you buy?

I'd put it towards my credit card bill 😥

frozendaisy · 27/02/2025 19:54

Or a fuck off digital camera

or a trip to Florence (for obvious reasons 3/4 nights not done on the cheap)

or an orchard of well established fruit trees for garden

yeah I would have no problem burning through that

GinandGingerBeer · 27/02/2025 19:55

I'd go on a city break and buy myself some jewellery.

bakedFishandChips · 27/02/2025 19:56

I'll eat it all up in the nicest eateries available to me, so it will last a bit longet than a holiday

Aworldofmyown · 27/02/2025 19:58

One of those wellness retreats somewhere warm.
A £2000 handbag.

Ilovelurchers · 27/02/2025 19:58

I'd spend some of it on a fantastic week at the seaside with my daughter. Takeaways every night etc - whatever we wanted.

I'd also buy myself a really decent vacuum cleaner!

And maybe a tattoo.....

LivingLaVidaBabyShower · 27/02/2025 20:00

What sort of things do you like or what do you want to do?

taking it literally - as in “for yourself” I’d go for wellness based options

do you have a health or fitness goal? If so, 1 yr fancy gym membership could be good or PT sessions

or your teeth - good teeth do wonders

or get your colours / kibbe body type etc done and revamp your wardrobe

or go to a fancy salon and get an amazing cut and colour

Or see a podiatrist and get gait analysis/orthotics

or get some laser facials

or a combination of the above.

Ritzybitzy · 27/02/2025 20:15

I would book personal shopping somewhere other than where I lived and a night in a hotel.

JimHalpertsWife · 27/02/2025 20:16

Me and dh would go do a luxury long weekend in Barcelona.

selffellatingouroborosofhate · 27/02/2025 20:20

Exotropia correction.

Some amazing suggestions here, thank you everyone!

My ‘usual’ go to treat is a book so agree with many of you!

£1000 on a big item (spa break, jewellery, laptop if needed as above) then a treat each month for the rest of the year. £100 a month on a ticket/gig, nice meal or massage.
Just had a nice mini treatment and spa/pool day at local golf club through Groupon for £30 approx. I know Groupon or Vowcher isn't everyone's idea of a splurge.

I love this - such a great idea.

I'd buy an antique gold and diamond ring. Anything left over some earings.

Growlybear83 · 27/02/2025 20:30

Shoes, handbags, and perfume. Lots of perfume!

Vitriolinsanity · 27/02/2025 20:41

5 days in Malta

Purplecatshopaholic · 27/02/2025 20:48

I’d put it towards an upper eye lift

FriendlyWerewolf · 27/02/2025 20:54

I've just been quoted 2400 for Invisalign treatment so I'd go with that!

Piece of jewellery you’ll have forever and a spa mini break? Enjoy!

ghostbusters · 27/02/2025 20:57

I think I'd buy a piece of art that I love and I chose rather then something that would fit in with the colour/style of the house. Would that count as something for me?

Quitelikeit · 27/02/2025 20:58

A Gucci bag
A micro needling session
A night away in a nice hotel with lovely dinner and favourite drinks

Christmasandallthetrimmings · 27/02/2025 20:59

A nice massage, some essential oils, I'd shop around for the finest chemical free body and hair products, and then do my wardrobe for the next year or two.

Beachhutgirl · 27/02/2025 21:00

I'd use £170 on a Persephone Books subscription. A new book every month for a year.

I'd also think about other monthly (or so) treats. What about taking a different family member or special friend to a meal.out and theatre each month, chosing things you would bith enjoy.

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 27/02/2025 21:00

A puppy?

Hdjdb42 · 27/02/2025 21:07

Dyson airwrap and a red light tent.

YouLookinSusBro · 27/02/2025 21:08

selffellatingouroborosofhate · 27/02/2025 20:20

Exotropia correction.

I had mine done on the NHS about 10 years ago. Have you asked if it's possible?

As for 2k to treat myself...I can only dream!

Would be a holiday of some sort. Alone. Maybe a wellness retreat/detox
