I'm just drinking my first cuppa, in my kitchen spot, after a dreadful night's sleep (thanks menopause 🙄). Both kittens are wandering round this morning so we'll play when I've drunk my cuppa.

Our only plans for today are washing the towels, conquering washing up mountain, and making more bracelets for Gracie Abrams in Leeds. We all need to get ready for back to school and college tomorrow too 😥 . I have a million things to take so will get them all out later on.

This evening will be early showers all round, followed by early nights all round, ready for getting up tomorrow 💤. I'll probably have an hour or two with my book before bed.

What about all of you? 🙂

Hey @lucysmam, morning. I’ve been having that same bad sleep lately too so I feel you. I’m still in bed and really don’t feel like getting up! 😫 It's cold, windy, and rainy in my part of Scotland today along with flood warnings.

Yesterday I didn’t get my work done after the Tesco run so I’ll have to spend some time on that today so I can invoice the client tomorrow. Some meal planning and laundry are in order. I mostly just want to snuggle down and play iPad games though.

As for dinner, no clue hence the need for meal planning. It may involve roasted chicken pieces and rice though or a quiche. Happy Sunday everyone!

BulldogMumma · 23/02/2025 10:10

Morning.
Day off for me ready to go back to work tomorrow after half term. This morning I'm pottering about doing some washing and cleaning.
This afternoon me and 2 of my DD's are getting our hair cut, much needed in my case.
We'll probably have gammon for tea followed by showers all round and early nights ready for school and work tomorrow

Kim82 · 23/02/2025 10:14

Good morning. I also slept terribly as the wind has picked up overnight and was quite noisy and kept me awake.

There’s just me awake here, dd20 is at work and dh and dd17 are both still in bed.

I need to go and get showered and dressed in a minute as dd10 is due to be dropped off from her sleepover at 11am and I don’t want to be answering the door in my pjs with greasy hair!

Today’s plan is to clean upstairs (did downstairs yesterday), strip the beds and iron school and work clothes. Dd10 is going to an escape room later this afternoon which I’ll take her to then back home for a roast for tea. I also need to go to Costco to fill the car up as I’ve no petrol so I’ll do that at some point too. Then showers and get comfy for the evening.

Tonight I’m watching a film with dh that he mentioned - can’t remember what it is but he said he wanted to watch it with me tonight - so we’ll do that then head to bed early-ish ready for another week of work.

Just on first coffee here then rally the team and we are all out the teens have the (paid) jobs to do.

Then roast, school get ready/work.

Might get a film out of them who knows?

Playmobil4Eva · 23/02/2025 10:18

Morning all! Had my nail appointment at 7 and then watched an episode of gladiators with DD. She has an operation today so going to bath her and then take her to see a friend to break up the time. She’s nil by mouth and rather grumpy!
back to work tomorrow- it’s a PD day and I have to move classroom before the kids come back!

MiniPumpkin · 23/02/2025 10:19

Morning, school uniforms to wash today and just general tidy up.
ds will go to gymnastics with dh but otherwise it’s a day in the house as it’s very wet and windy out there.
I may upload some items to Vinted if I find the motivation

WhatWouldHopperDo · 23/02/2025 10:26

Morning @lucysmam . I’m having porridge with berries and a coffee.

DH and I have a lot of tidying to do. Both DCs have left home in the last 10 days (😩) so things need new homes or taking to charity or chucking out.

We’ll pause for a longish dog walk later but we’ll be spending most of the day decluttering and catching up on laundry.

Dinner is some kind of steak fajita/taco/rice bowl. We started watching Zero Day last night so will probably watch again tonight. DH is back on an 6.30am shift tomorrow so he’ll be in bed early. I might finish my latest Lego set if I’m not tired when he goes to bed.

DinoLil · 23/02/2025 10:34

Good morning all!

I'm also still in bed. I've had 'that' virus for a week now and the coughing is stopping me from being able to sleep properly. I'm so tired.

Doggo was in the vet hospital for several days last week, at one point she was 3hrs from being pts. She's home and much better now, but still on medication and a very strict diet of butternut squash, white fish plus a lunch of scrambled eggs. She's eating better than me!

I'll probably shuffle downstairs in a bit and finish binging Missing You. And cook dog some scrambled eggs!

Enjoy your day, everyone!

JingsMahBucket · 23/02/2025 10:39

Well, OH was kind enough to bring me a couple air fried sausages in bed after I told him my desire keep burrito-ing in bed for the rest of the morning. I do now want more breakfast now so will get a bit more food to snuggle up with in bed. 🛌

LadyMacbethssweetArabianhand · 23/02/2025 10:42

Good morning Lucysmam and others. My sympathy as I never sleep well these days.
Today I've been to Aldi to stock up, done a washing and have others ready to go in. I've had two coffees and a croissant and I'm set to tidy up . I'll cook a gammon later then visit mum in hospital. If the weather subsides, I have rubbish to put out and I've started to declutter. It's my annual Swedish Death Clean (not planning on going soon) so that my daughter doesn't have masses to throw out eventually. Despite telling them, I have friends who buy me ornaments for birthdays and I'm not an ornament fan. So the car will be filled with stuff for the charity shops. Gammon, mash, cauliflower cheese, asparagus and purple sprouting broccoli later followed by apple crumble. Have a good day all.

BeaAndBen · 23/02/2025 10:46

Good morning!

Exciting morning here - taking DD to collect the car she bought herself with money saved from her Saturday job and holiday jobs. I am so proud of her!

Purplecatshopaholic · 23/02/2025 10:47

Morning all. Eating my breakfast in bed with my dogs. Bliss. The weather in Central Scotland today is absolutely atrocious so I am not doing anything that involves leaving my centrally heated house, lol. Might do some housework, might not! Need to do some prep for an important meeting tomorrow so will be beavering away on my computer later. Will take dogs out, but it will likely be a short one as they loathe bad weather even more than I do. Have a lovely Sunday everyone.

DilemmaDelilah · 23/02/2025 10:55

Good morning @lucysmam . I woke up at 6.30 after not getting to sleep until after midnight. We went to the theatre yesterday and had a really good evening!

Having woken up early and having a delicious bacon sandwich brought to me by Mr Dilemma I thought I might go back to sleep again, but no. I have been making a post-surgery cushion for my sister who is going in for a lumpectomy on Friday. I usually find it easiest to hand stitch rather than having to get the sewing machine out, for smaller items anyway. I have a blind to make in the next few months for what will be the small spare room, and I will be getting the machine out for that.

I have taken to making my own Epsom bath salts to increase my magnesium levels, I have a magnesium spray I use before I go to bed, and both my daughters have given me face creams which are meant to help with sleep - do you use any of those @lucysmam ? My sleep is a lot better than it was but I still have to resign myself to about one night a week when I get very little sleep. I have pills I can take it I feel I need them and every now and then I give myself a treat 😁.

I've just sent Mr Dilemma off to The Range to get a hole punch to put in the care package for my sister. One of the things I have got her is a pretty ring binder to put all her paperwork in. I've also got her a blank notebook and pen to write in. I found it really useful to write down my feelings and things that were bothering me. I'm not sure whether she will do that but she can write down things she wants to ask her oncologist, useful tips, notes about her medications etc. She is very much on my mind at the moment.

Plans for today.... I have a whole load of beef mince to do something with, so I will probably make a bolognese. It freezes well and makes for a quick meal. Tomorrow we will be going to evensong at the cathedral and then taking middle grandson home, so it will be nice to have something we can put together in ten minutes after we get home. There is laundry to do - as usual, and I will do some more knitting. When I've finished the largish square I am knitting at present I will swap to crochet for a bit. I'm doing a 'patchwork' blanket for the small spare room. The yarn is quite fine and I'm not a proficient knitter/crocheter, so each square takes quite a long time.

I must remember to book a swimming session for tomorrow morning. I used to book a while month's worth at a time but there have been times when I just haven't felt well enough so I tend to book them the day before now. I haven't been to WEFTE (Water Exercise For The Elderly) since October. I used to go on a Friday but a combination of illness and appointments stopped that for a while, and I feel I need to build my strength up a bit before I start again. I had got up to 40 lengths of the pool - I think I would struggle to do ten now.

lucysmam · 23/02/2025 11:02

@DilemmaDelilah I very briefly googled magnesium, once. I'll have to look properly really. Bath salts are out - I prefer a shower. I do like a face cream though - which ones are they?

Your package for your sister sounds lovely. I have a tiny book I write notes/things I want to ask the oncologist in so I'm sure she'll find that handy 😊 .

Morning @lucysmam
Late one here, too. DS is away with school, so we have had a busy weekend eating, drinking, and long lie ins.
Friday night at our local fine dining restaurant
Yesterday, I was on a training day for a group I volunteer with, then a few drinks and a curry.
Today, DH is off to the football and a few pints with his mates. I'm going to do a small shop and call in to see my mum.
I'm going to do some sort of fish for tea as we have eaten a lot of rich food all weekend.
I'm working tomorrow as DS isn't back until the evening, then off for the rest of HT. Thank goodness

Andnowshesatoddler · 23/02/2025 11:04

It's one of 'those days' in toddlerdom today - how is it only 11am.
Hoping she goes for her nap soon and then we have a few errands to run in town later returns etc.
Have a good day all

theboffinsarecoming · 23/02/2025 11:05

Bacon sandwich - tick
Several teas and coffees - tick

DH has taken my car to take a load of old tat to the dump, and he's then going to wash it. The car that is, not the rubbish. I'm busying myself in the flowerbeds (again) and hoping that I can get enough done by the time the forecast wind and rain arrives later. I'll shortly be putting a gammon joint on to simmer for a couple of hours. Adult dc coming round for dinner later on.

ssd · 23/02/2025 11:06

Morning @lucysmam .
Still feel rubbish, dh just got up and annoyed me already. Pouring wet outside.

Floralnomad · 23/02/2025 11:07

I’ve had my boiled eggs and coffee and now I’m watching India v Pakistan playing cricket . The most I’m doing today is turning the TV over to the athletics later and cooking dinner 😀. Hope everyone has a good day .

RabbitsRock · 23/02/2025 11:09

Playmobil4Eva 7am on a Sunday for a nails appointment?! Now that’s dedication! You’re as hard as nails! 🤣

DilemmaDelilah · 23/02/2025 11:15

@lucysmam both face creams are different. One is from Bee Care and smells absolutely gorgeous! It is called Sleep Treatment Cream. The other is Elizabth Arden Good Night's Sleep. That smells very nice too. The Bee Care one was in a package with Sleep honey (lavender and something else, you are meant to have a spoonful before bed) and a pillow mist which also smells gorgeous.

I shower for cleanliness, but I like a bath to relax and take away the aches. I add essential oils which are meant to help with sleep to the Epsom salts and I think it does help.

dontforgetme · 23/02/2025 11:16

Good Morning @lucysmam and all!

Very windy where I am today and the rain is due around lunchtime. A chilled day in the house is on the cards for us after a really lovely but hectic day with family yesterday. We have an extra day off tomorrow before back to work and school so luckily I won't get the Sunday 3pm blues as I usually do.

Going to clean the bathrooms shortly, make a spag bol and settle down for a family game of Monopoly.

Baths and school bedtimes tonight for the kids, dp and I will watch the final episode of The Last of Us series 1 before series 2 lands. We have rewatched it and I have loved it even more this time around! Such a good show with the added bonus of Pedro Grin

Just popped my kindle on charge too. Finished Strange Sally Diamond yesterday and absolutely loved it. Going to pop over to the reading section of MN for some recs before I crack on with the bathrooms.

Have lovely Sundays all.

Iamnotaloggrip · 23/02/2025 11:19

Morning all, took the dog for a long walk before the rain started here - now having a coffee listening to it patter on the window. DP is out with the kids so I’ll try to tidy their rooms while they’re out. Will get everything ready for them to go back to school tomorrow as well later. Beef casserole for dinner then try to get an early night. Will try to do my nails as well later - I’m in awe of the 7am nail appointment!

goodnightssleepbenice · 23/02/2025 11:21

I have so much to do I wrote a list last night , and so far I have done nothing ! I'm working a lot next week so really want to do as much as I can today . We are going on holiday on Friday and want to get organised for that today really . I will souring into action at 11.30!

Gettingbysomehow · 23/02/2025 11:22

Attempted to make cheese on toast in the airfryer for breakfast. Toast was OK, cheese ended up round the sides. Why?
