A very late good morning Mumsnet! What are you all up to today?

I'm just drinking my first cuppa, in my kitchen spot, after a dreadful night's sleep (thanks menopause 🙄). Both kittens are wandering round this morning so we'll play when I've drunk my cuppa.

Our only plans for today are washing the towels, conquering washing up mountain, and making more bracelets for Gracie Abrams in Leeds. We all need to get ready for back to school and college tomorrow too 😥 . I have a million things to take so will get them all out later on.

This evening will be early showers all round, followed by early nights all round, ready for getting up tomorrow 💤. I'll probably have an hour or two with my book before bed.

Pouring with rain and gale force winds here! Luckily managed to make it to the tip before it all kicked off, suspect it will be closed shortly. We’re off for fish and chips as a treat for DD filling up her reward jar, her choice. Had hoped for a walk along the beach too but that’s definitely not happening!

Will pootle around the house this afternoon and sort some washing, DH is doing some batch cooking as he’s working more hours now and we struggle to find time to cook! Carrot soup for tea and then DH and I are going to play some Astrobot when the kids are in bed

I was in bed all morning!
dh came up with a bacon sandwich for me at midday which was lovely (the only day it’s ever acceptable for breakfast in bed as it’s clean sheets day 😂) as I was feeling a bit bleary eyed.
I’m just about to take ds to M&S for some new school trousers, I suspect he will now be in mens as he’s shot up again and I think he was already in the biggest kids size. Might also have a look at a few things for myself.
Tonight we have beef biriya tacos (not sure I’ve spelt that right), the beef has been slowly cooking away in the oven since this morning, it smells amazing.

I grew up in a church family. My mum still goes and is an active member, but some of the least Christian people can be found in many churches

And @gingercat02 thank you so much. I got very upset this morning but managed to have an ok day.
Church was my sanctuary after a horrible year. Lost my gran, moved back to the UK from overseas, had to move house 3 times, I was lonely, family not getting on.
I think I deserved a bit of kindness and gentle handling.
