Automatic or manual?

Petrol, diesel or electric?

Automatic petrol 2.0 litre Mini Cooper S. A huge amount of fun to drive. Perfect now I don't have to ferry around teens as they are young adults with their own cars!

hairyunicorn · 18/02/2025 13:38

Fiat 500, manual, petrol, cheap to insure and tax.
I live in London so only really use her for short runs and shopping

Meadowfinch · 18/02/2025 13:39

7yo Volvo. diesel, manual, generally reliable, fairly solid, plenty of legroom for growing teen boys.

PoltergeistsStartLowKey · 18/02/2025 13:40

I have a van and a Land Rover. We couldn't get in here in the winter without a LR. I would not want to go back to driving a car having driven a van but it is a bit of a heap all the same. I love the LR with all my heart.

HelpMeGetThrough · 18/02/2025 13:45

Toyota Hybrid, so Electric/Petrol engine (2.0l) with an auto box.

Put it into sports mode and it's great fun, acceleration is brutal.

BishBashBoshClick · 18/02/2025 13:45

I've got a manual petrol Mitsubishi convertible. It's a bit shit at this time of year - I regularly scrape ice from the inside of the windscreen.

But oh my god, the summer days where it's roasting - those are beautiful days.

DancingFerret · 18/02/2025 13:49

Mine is a BMW Compact auto first registered in 2002. It's our runaround car, totally reliable (at the moment) and a dream to drive, which is why it's not being changed any time soon.

DH has a high spec 2013 Freelander, which he loves, and from which he will need to be surgically separated at some point in the future.

Our fun car is a 2000 reg Lotus Elise.

I have an automatic petrol car because I can't drive manual

💯 fully electric for 8 years now (2 x BMW i3 and now a Taycan through work 😇)

mrsh2025 · 18/02/2025 13:57

Diesel e class Mercedes automatic. Absolutely love the car so comfy

My favourite car in the world! They're the best x

Iheartmysmart · 18/02/2025 14:00

Ancient Smart ForTwo convertible and I bloody love it. Nippy around town, easy to park, quite comfortable doing 70 on the motorway albeit a bit noisy! Fits me and all my camping gear in for impromptu weekends away. Costs next to nothing to run. Makes me smile every time I drive it.

Horrace · 18/02/2025 14:01

Auto petrol Golf (always had Golfs)
and
Auto petrol hybrid Renault Arkana (bought on a whim)
and
Ford Transit diesel manual

Hoppinggreen · 18/02/2025 14:03

Tesla, absolutely love it.
I think Musk is a Twat but I am still not getting rid of it, its great to drive and I save a fortune vs Petrol/diesel

Karou · 18/02/2025 14:04

Citroen C3 aircross. 7yo Petrol and manual. I got it brand new and to be honest my only criteria was that it had to have a glass roof. I still love the glass roof!

LyricalGangsta · 18/02/2025 14:06

22 year old petrol polo, 1.4.
Sails through MOT's and has only ever really troubled me for general maintenance works due to age
Cheap insurance and fuel. Just shy of £20 a month for tax so a bit more pricey there but all in all costs about £100 a month to run

Member278307 · 18/02/2025 14:10

Used to have mercedes SUV. Awful to park so changed to a mini cooper s . Wonderful wish I changed years ago !!!!

MissyB1 · 18/02/2025 14:12

Kia E Niro fully electric and automatic, it's my 3rd year of it and I love it. Could never go back to petrol.

OrangeBlossom28 · 18/02/2025 14:34

@HappyHappyy It's my favourite car too! We drove to the South of France in it last summer and had so much fun driving Route Napoleon down to near Grasse where we stayed.

JustAboutMuddlingThrough · 18/02/2025 14:40

Manual, diesel Vauxhall corsa. It's failed every MOT it's had in the past 6 years, has probably cost me more to fix it then it did to buy it, but I'm rather attached to my rather sad looking car

Is it the plug in C-HR? I am thinking of getting one.
