Automatic or manual?

Petrol, diesel or electric?

I have an Alfa Romeo mito veloce. Manual and petrol. 15 yrs old. Great nippy little car. Fab to drive. Wanting a guilette next.

Snowmanscarf · 18/02/2025 15:10

Silver automatic

greektreacle · 18/02/2025 15:14

BMW x1 M Sport. Very fun to drive, economical, and it saved our lives with only cosmetic damage after a pretty brutal crash this summer (the crash wasn’t our fault, I hasten to add). If we’d been in something tiny, we’d have been killed. But the car is like a tank. I will not be parted from it for another 10 years at least.

2.0l Diesel, Mini Paceman, Manual.

Love and adore it! Nice and nippy (0-60 in 10 seconds), so comfortable and looks pretty cool! And you don't see many on the road as they were discontinued in favour of the 5 seater Clubman.

OrangeBlossom28 · 18/02/2025 16:20

@Hannah1011 I'm not sure will check the stats. It's 192 bhp so very nippy and fast when you put your foot down!

TheDandyLion · 18/02/2025 16:24

Citroen Berlingo, manual dirty diesel workhorse. 15 years old 130k on the clock and just sailed through the MOT with no advisories.

Brownie258 · 18/02/2025 16:26

Electric Skoda and would be very unlikely to ever go back I absolutely adore it.

NinnyJam · 18/02/2025 16:29

Thank for all the extra details. I was only curious about the fuel and if automatic or manual

Is it the plug in C-HR? I am thinking of getting one.

No, it's not plug in. My brothers got the plug in RAV 4 and really likes it. Bloody expensive if he had to buy it though.

Many, many years ago I had an Alfasud, it looked gorgeous, sounded sexily throaty, ran like a dream and I absolutely loved it. But I was in Johannesburg at that time, a very dry area and with some elevation and cars just did not rust. The Alfa did. 😢

Apologies.

Why you asking anyway?

SiobhanSharpe · 18/02/2025 16:36

Nowadays we have an Audi A5, petrol, auto. Four years old, roomy, solid and very comfortable for long drives sur le continent. One reason we're reluctant to go electric.

Blue278 · 18/02/2025 16:39

Auto petrol. My first auto and won’t go back to manual.

Iheartmysmart · 18/02/2025 16:43

Petrol - can be driven in manual or automatic mode. I always use auto.

AcquadiP · 18/02/2025 16:45

Honda Jazz, 1.4, manual, my second one. Love it: economical to run, ULEZ compliant, bags of space with the 'magic seating', great build quality, engine never any trouble. My last one was 18 and still running like a dream but rust around rear wheel arches had set in and I replaced it.

Just curious that's all.

A 9 year old petrol engine, manual Ford Cmax with very low mileage (but which still needed a new fecking oil pump last week - bye bye £600)

mondaytosunday · 18/02/2025 16:54

Manual and first petrol car since my very first one I think. Last few have been diesel. Was thinking hybrid last time but wasn't convinced about what was on offer.

Isobel201 · 18/02/2025 17:00

I have an Automatic Aygo X, 1 litre petrol engine. I drive with an automatic only license as well.

MagicalMystical · 18/02/2025 17:04

Manual petrol. Will go electric and automatic as soon as they come down in price so I can afford it

NPET · 18/02/2025 17:09

Old VW Polo, manual.
My bff (next door) is a petrolhead and she gives me access to a newer Ford Ka and a much older (1960s!!) Morris 1000, which just about goes and is definitely a manual (you can hear it streets away!!).

PinkPonyClub25 · 18/02/2025 17:10

2.0 petrol ssayong Tivoli manual I love it!

Carsarelife · 18/02/2025 17:15

Manual Petrol Mini Cooper Twin Turbo. Amazing car and fun feel.

Manual Diesel Mini Cooper Convertible
I have the best of both worlds

MiddleAgedDread · 18/02/2025 17:15

Petrol and manual because I am old school
BF has a diesel automatic which i also drive

PiastriThePastry · 18/02/2025 17:16

9 year old Volvo XC60, diesel, automatic. First auto I’ve ever had and honestly can’t see myself going back, it’s like driving a (very large!) go-kart!
Before that was a Mitsubishi L200 pick-up, diesel, manual.
